They have a bunch of key formats. That is one of them. Strangely, I cannot find that support article that lists the key formats…

It;s this one, but it's been changed at some point which is why you couldn't find what you was actually looking for as that info is no longer there.

EDIT: The text of the old version can be seen here though O=I'm not sure thats a direct copy of the old article.

Yes i got long key too (boredrlands 2 skins) so yeah, if u open "activate game" u can see all examples of keys

retail keys are long too.. as long as its redeemable on steam its ok..

Yes I have personally seen a few strange keys work recently,one for example was the newish game "Damned".

Yes and there are other formats than the 15 and 25 too, even longer than 25 characters.

I went through a pile of old pre-Steam physical games I had a while back and tried everything resembling a key I found. Most didn't work, but I was surprised by the stuff that did. They aren't common but 25 character keys can certainly be valid.
