Warhammer Vermintide. Game places emphasis on melee weapons in a day where gun is the more obvious choice. Really puts me back into coop games because I have not played any coop game since Left 4 Dead came out.

If you enjoyed Vermintide, I highly recommend playing Killing Floor 2. So far my most favorite co-op undead game. Pvp mode (undead vs humans) is coming out soon too. You can choose many classes. The graphics is just amazing as well

exactly. since it was on Humble Monthly (i think) found it on G2A for under 2$. So atmospheric. really beautiful game. Also, I stole some food from a house and felt so guilty LMFAO!
Comment has been collapsed.
a pity it has some bugs, like being detected when you enter a room and people in there are in the other side of the house, or containers that remain marked as private property in some cases (stealing from bandits or thugs?).
still a very solid game. :3

As the graffiti says: F*ck the War! Also, i think they have a War Child Foundation DLC or something, in order to raise money! Nice move!

Dunno if 'lately' is accurate since I played this a few weeks ago but I was deeply impressed by The Last Door. Such minimalistic graphics and yet such a great game. Especially when it comes to story telling and atmosphere.
Really disapointing that the news area for season 2 on steam is kind of a wasteland. : /

The Last Door is amazing indeed. Great soundtrack, story and atmosphere. Phoenix Online Studios is my favorite company nowadays.
I love their games; and they think about Linux users.

yeap, he has some downfalls, for example he is more grindy and tedious then the vanilla version - which is not good, but on the other hand the new perks tree force you to try new things and co-op more with your team - which is great.
oh and the meld collecting part gets you killed a lot of the time - personally i hate it, but from gameplay of xcom2 it seams they keep that approach with falling items and weapons from killed aliens...so might as well get ready for it :-/
i just dont get why doing it? if you completed the mission whats prevent you from sweeping the aria for loot? it doesnt make any seance to do it during combat!
ohh and you can twink it to your liking (it is a mod after all) for example i did this changes:
thats it (for now as im alright with the rest...i think) :-)
and i dont play ironman (they actually recommend not playing ironman as of bugs etc) i had enagth of it on the vanilla impossible for the achievement (took me about 50 tries for a perfect first month!) :-P
and i save a lot
Comment has been collapsed.
but i just love ironman...
with this option, you shit pants every time, when you see sectopod:)
finished vanilla EW on highest level with that
still remember moment, when i loose best sniper just because i was not enough carefully
and im sad when it is unplayable with mod:(
also i like fatigue in long war
maybe you are right, sometimes rest is to long
but most annoying for me is so much perk for aliens in late game
thin man with 5 damage reduction... its ok for muton but not thin man...
or spawn 2 or more groups of aliens togther
one time i woke up 3 mechtoids with some drons and sectoids by one move...
anyway playing without mod is now mistake:)
i dont talk about xcom2 because dont have it yet
Comment has been collapsed.
i dont have xcom 2 nether but i save any $$$ i got from cards sells tword it...its slow..but i will get there eventually :-D
i finished EU on highest level with ironman just for the achievement...didnt have EW then, but i hated it, i have a really hard time letting my team mates die (i know its just a game but still) and usually its because wrong click (like instead of normal step you click 1 square farther into dash...or wrong height lvl click...) :-S
im pretty new to long war...i still on the learning curve with it (just installed it last week) so i havent got to higher lvl aliens and i dont know what they bring on :-D
but i know what you are saying on the spawn of multiple grops...at first i played it like in the vanilla...
you trigger enemy pod - snip/flank it and move on...but on long war every time i flanked i activated a new pod :-D
one of my first map i actually activated all aliens pod in 1 turn - that was a blood bath....i set like 5 min asking what the F$%k?
and i always forget that lighting reflexes moved to the scout instead of the assault (you do not want to know how many time my assault got hit because that mistake...)
so now i move slowly, think twice if to flank or not, use flash grenades (on vanilla i used mainly aim items...)...and i actually use the "hunker down" option almost every 2nd-3rd mission (almost never used it on vanilla)
but i like it, its like a whole new game :-)
by the way how do you bulid your squad?

officer school upgrade make possible to deploy 8 soldiers per mission, so you can take every class:)
but before that sniper + scout + medic + assault/infantry/gunner(2 of them) + rocketer/enginner(1 of them)
usually i turn gunners into mec goliath for better positioning
for exalt mission agents i choose enginers, granades make them more than useful
about ironman again:
in my current game i have 37 soldiers in memorial:(
except rookies, most of them i remember by name, so i understand your side
when my first lieutenant fell, i loose 2 another soldiers when try save her
she died anyway:(
later, when my favourite soldier died (insta-killed by teammate's rocket) i screamed
ironman make this game more immersive, and i really enjoy that

i try to get more labs before officer school so i can get better gear for my men (especially armor)...and it goes slowly...do you recommend getting it first?
i didnt like the gunner, infantry and rocketer at first, i dont really "feel" the infantry role i prefer the assault on him...and the rocketer is a badass AOE DMG dealer but then i dont get any recurses from the alien, which is fewer in the first place as of brutal difficult...so for now he is backup only...
i still feel the same about infantry and rocketer but gunner save my men life with suppression more then few times now...so i now train 3 of them :-P
i usually takes:
havent got yet to gene mod/mec options (and its the first time i play EW so i dont really know what to expect :-D)
by the way your ironman run is on vanilla? or on TLW? and on what difficult? if its on vanilla EW the i get your point ^_^
as i play on brutal with red fog option (if you or alien get hit your stats drop respectively - its pain in the A$% but it also logical...) and i do almost every mission 2-3 times (i restart the mission on soldier death), so if i will go on ironman i will probably play with rookies for the rest of the game (2-3 deaths each mission...) and it will be a short-really short game :-P
Comment has been collapsed.
2 more soldiers make missions a lot easier
i cant imagine playin with just 6 man in mid-late game
and officers of course, it is much better idea than vanilla medals
rocketer is not for killng, i use rockets for hurt groups of healthy aliens and destroiyng cover
then another soldiers can easy finnish them with gun, so i can still take resources:)
in exalt missions you dont gain any resources, so use rockets and granades without limit
infantry with double shot, more ammo, supression or oportunist perks is really good choice
my Van Doorn died during his 4th mission:( i lose Zhang too
but Glenn Friendly is still alive:)
LT Pokorny is man, which made me screaming
and my ironman is on long war:) but just classic difficulty, higher make game unplayable
i use red fog too, additionaly aiming angles, absolutely critical, mind hates mater, friendly skies(with iron man it is important), commander choice, new economy and hidden potential
Comment has been collapsed.
its a good point, tho i try to get the achievement of not upgrading the team size (i actually dont know if it works on TLW - may be i will do a fast run on VANILLA afterwords :-))
i will probably need to experience the officers system before giving an opinion...but its sad they cant use psi....:-P
so do i i use shredder rocket but it still occasionally kill them...i dont think i got an exalt mission yet...what is the objective there?
maybe i should give the infantry a second try... i just love run and gun perk...i will give it a go - on wrong case i will go back to assault.
sorry about doorn an zang, by the way how are there stats in compare to your troops?
may be i will give ironman a go afterwords...i will try your setup ^_^
Comment has been collapsed.
in long war you have 6 soldiers witohut upgrade so it is possible achievment will not work
dont care about psi lock for officers, you need only one per mission, rest of team give you enough psi power:)
also psi make fatigue time longer, so you must be carefull with that
i have only 6 psions in roster right now, but choose max 2 per mission (usually one) and it is enough
exalt mission in long war is like vanilla, just with more enemies
infantry and assault play different role
with assault you need move to flank enemy, so you need use scout for alien guard shot
infantry can shot two times only if he did not move, so you need destroy cover by rocket or granade and then take 2 kills:)
also assault perk with second shot (forget name but you need kill enemy within 4 sqares) dont work with run and gun is one turn
im not sure about stats of soldiers from special missions, but at the moment, Friendly have stats like others with his rank
they had high rank when join, maybe thats why you think they have better stats
you can see on my screen Friendly with low psi, but it is because critical wounds
only weakness is, they have less mission than others, so they will be not good officers
Comment has been collapsed.
your probably right, i will have to do another run on vanilla...good thing i love this game ^_^
well i was aiming to a completer psi squad (like i did on vanilla), didnt know about the psi fatigue i will have to check it out... and increase my roster as you stated :-S
i haveny done any exalt mission on EU...its probably new from EW? (its my first time with EW)
i dont have much use for 2 shots on the same target and when i do its usually after moving so..., but from what you wrote i can guess its going to change fast, i will give them a try as well :-P
and i know, but still the ability to move as far as you can get and still shot + the CC that gives you free shot on every thing that gets close to you is priceless! :)
well my was rolled with low-avg stats compare to my team (i compared by rank results), and i will probably will have to use him for officer (as i didnt plan for one specific...) so i try to take him to every mission he can join...

The Beginner's Guide, Pony Island and Her Story. Undertale would probably also be listed here, but I haven't played it yet.
Hmm, it seems that I like games that defy genre :)
Remember Me is also definitely on my to-do list. It is from the same devs as Life Is Strange, and I enjoyed that one quite a lot too.

Dark souls - was looking for some action for 3 euro, ended after 50 hours with satisfaction of beating the game, but as well with sadness, that its over. For me one of the best game I played.

+1, Dark Souls is amazing, I've basically non stop played DS 1 and 2, basically finished new game+ in DS and part way through new game+ in DS2 and still don't want to stop. Got about 120 hours on each game. Normally once I complete a game I stop playing it, occasionally ill go back a while later and play a little bit but I haven't had a break from Dark Souls yet and not planning on one anytime soon, especially with DS3 almost out.

E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy. Everything in that game is a mess: gameplay is confusing, the plot is even more confusing, there are some translation mistakes, the A.I. has some problems, it's full of bugs... but I've enjoyed every single bit of it.

The Long Dark Great survival game with a more realistic setting.

Currently playing Dragon Age Origins and loving it. I played Sword Coast Legends recently and can't believe that DAO was made 6 years before SCL as its by far the better game.

I thought that game was great. It was fun and had a cool story.

I've recently completed "Brothers A Tale Of Two Sons" and i love it. The game have great idea of Single player co-op. The only hard part of the game is to coordinate your hands and vision and not to mess up. For example left analog stick navigates the big brother and the right analog stick navigates the little brother, your task is not to switch in your mind the controls :D( please tell me if you dont understand what i just type, i explain it very poorly)

Siren: Blood Curse
Expected an ok-ish horror at best that is unknown for a reason. Ended up being so stressed out while playing it, that I can't complete more than 1 episode in one sitting. :x
Is there any game you really want to play but keep backlogging it for unknown reasons?
Heh, Bioshock. :p

Traded Door kickers and it was a lot better than expected. Always though Breach & Clear was better since it was in 2.5D. But i was suprised by how good door kickers actually was.

Bastion, my brother bought it to me recently i really enjoyed it.
I have Remember Me installed since a couple of month, I don't know why but i can't find the motivation to play it even though I've heard a lot of people praise it..... Like Shadowrun, I had it installed for months, launched it once and stopped when I was supposed to choose my character, their faces really put me off, i uninstalled it a couple of days ago.

Hm, impressive may be the wrong word but I found Why am I dead at Sea really interesting. It shows the narrative advantage games can have over books or television. For those interested here's a review.

Alpha Protocol, just bought it off SEGA sale on Steam.
I feel dirty not buying the game on full price, it offers more than what's my money worth!
Yeah basically it's one of the pioneer of "your choice influence the entire game" type of play, only the game did it so seamlessly and very organic, I can't even figure out how it kept track all my choices.
Even the small choices from introduction might bring big consequences later. Very good game.

Not a PC game but Beyond Two Souls! Gameplay isn't exactly the best, but the story was amazing and I basically played it in one sitting without realising!
PC would have to be Rise Of The Tomb Raider. They have improved since the 2013 version. I still need to finish the game but I have 39 hour in it and there is still so much content in the season pass. Endurance mode will be fun since I'm loving the survival one life game mode:3

I'm impressed by the horses of that game
Most of the horses I've seen in games look like shit but they look good in the witcher

I held out quite a bit longer, not long enough though. I was just going to give it a test drive with one or two quest but got hooked instantly. Managed to stop playing about half way through the main story and now I'm waiting for the DLC and some more patching :)

For me it was Remember Me. I was putting it off to play as long as I can remember, mainly due to rather underwhelming reviews, but I have to say I really enjoyed it and it turned out to be great gaming experience. The art is simply beautiful, neo-classic-cyberpunk Paris, awesome soundtrack and even story was decent.
So, what's yours? Is there any game you really want to play but keep backlogging it for unknown reasons? Or a game that you are enjoying/enjoyed more than you were expecting?
