Yes?
So as an existing paused subscriber:
The games arent blind
I can still pause
I will get 10 games (instead of less than 10 like all but two bundles had this year so far)
Price and benefits are the same
I dont think I have a reason to cancel under the new system unless they screw me over later such as taking away pause, loading up bundles with tons of non-Steam games, or something like that. Humble is one of two primary sources for games that I mostly giveaway.
Sucks though that monthly noobs will have to pay lots more.

so basically there's no difference for monthly subscriber? except some few bonuses and renamed hb classic
the only one screwed is new user or cancelled user (more expensive, with no way to get the old monthly ever again)
but if new user pay for hb monthly NOW, can they still becomes hb classic?
well, i am a monthly sucbscriber anyway, so...
i hope i can still pause and no impact whatsoever (at least i think it is), even better because i can SEE all games now

Yes, as mentioned in the FAQ for Humble Choice.
How do I make sure I get the Classic plan?
If you want to get the Classic plan you will need to ensure that you are currently an active subscriber of Humble Monthly prior to the launch of Humble Choice. If your subscription is paused when Humble Choice has launched you will still be converted over to the Classic plan. ..."

I read FAQ and didn't see this addressed, but wonder if the Basic, Premium and Classic all have access to the same pool of games? (Or will classic possibly be a different pool of games than the Basic and Premium category choices?)

Well, just hours after I decided, for the first time, to subscribe for a month just for Crash and Spyro... [insert emoji with broken teeth]
Not a complete surprise though as they anticipated this months ago.
If it took so long for me to finally decide it was worth getting a single Monthly, you can figure how much I may be interested now that the price is going to almost double for the same amount of content.
Mind you, I don't doubt the price/quality ratio will be always quite high, and the higher price may be to get even bigger and more recent licenses. Still, after having asked X amount for years, charging 2X isn't going to get much new fans - in fact the strategy seems to keep oldtimers tight.
Credit at least where it's due, since not having "mystery" stuff anymore and allowing a Pick&Mix for lower tiers shows that they listened to feedback.
BTW, as I said above I subscribed with the intention of canceling soon (just the time to check the Trove), but I see the next billing date is november 29th. If I've already paid for the November bundle, and wanted to stay for the December one to be revealed in early November, shouldn't I be charged by the end of this month next? Does it mean they are offering one extra month as an attempt to keep me roped in? Or is it a sign Choice may be launched soon and this be the last old Monthly? (Forgive these questions but I'm a total n00b about the Monthly)
Comment has been collapsed.
If you have paid for this Novembers bundle (Spiro, etc) then you won't get charged on Nov 29. You can wait until that date to see what next months games are and choose at that point whether to pause or buy the next month. If you pause, you won't be charged for the next month and will still keep the $12 pricing. If you cancel at any time then you will lose the $12 pricing.

You normally have until the billing date to pause. That's around the 25th of each month. That may change with the new system but I don't see why it will change. The trick is that you just need to keep pausing until you find a monthly that you want otherwise you lose the $12 deal.

RIP I'll probably never buy humble monthly after this starts up.

Well, if one month offers some really incredible deal (like, two or three games that normally cost $50 each and are rarely discounted much) an hit-and-run subscription now and then can do - it's how I decided to dip in for the November Monthly.
However, it means they'll have to up their game considerably, and they may end up resorting to more AAA stuff, pushing indies to the side.

Only way to read this, and others have probably said it: "We weren't getting enough money, so we're gonna rope you into yearly subs while you have the chance."
I rarely skip a monthly (regardless of whether it ends up being good or bad), so it's a no-brainer, and I don't care either way at this stage.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh... well... I guess that's one way to make me never buy the monthly again... Ok then...
(Yeah, yeah, I know what you're gonna say: "But you can subscribe now and just pause it every month." or whatever. Until you forget to pause and "buy" something you didn't really want. Which is what they are hoping would happen. Back when the very first Humble Monthlies came out I bought the first two or so and then lost interest and forgot. It took me around 3 months after that to find out that they still considered me "subscribed" and kept charging me for it. Since then the 2-3 times I actually felt like they did a good enough offer to buy their monthlies I had to make extra sure that I had disabled the subscription, jumping through all the hoops they had added to it over time. Screw what they're trying to do here and screw this whole subscription model craze.)

Something about the all Activision reveals this month just made me think they were going to announce the end of monthly...have been waiting to hear the remaining year subscription would end in getting a bunch of money refunded to wallet or something. I don't know what to feel about this...trepidation?

They say "launching later this year" and if they stick to that, there's little more than two months left of 2019. No surprise if Humble Choice was out on November 1st already (although given the timing I'd rather think the launch will be in December).

If you are on humble classic, the discount is big, you get each game for $1.1. But for people on a yearly plan, revealing all games in advance doesn't changes that much, because you cannot upgrade to classic plan.
If you just buy one monthly because you are interested in the games, it's $2 per game on premium, and $5 per game on basic.
So essentially a good way to curate it would be to have each month:
with the idea that people wanting only the three nice games would pay one month of basic and people wanting a bit more game woul pay premium.

Just like before the upfront sales guarantee based on the number of subscribers will continue to convince certain studios to take a chance, particularly those whose game sales have dried up. But now with the price increase they'll be making more money per-key.
Comment has been collapsed.
They will probably have 2 or 3 bigger games and the rest as smaller games. That's why the cheaper plan is $15 because most people will buy the big ticket items.

nice comment on YT from someone:
IGN: "Nothing will change with the recent change of ownership." Also IGN: "Watch the Video."
and yes new users (lets say u find HB after new year) u will pay $20, no way to get classic HB, very interesting offer HB. Hell overpriced. RIP HB 2019

You can still pause and won't lose your classic sub. Just make sure to never cancel and never forget to pause if you don't like the games that month.

For now, indefinite pause option still works, just don't ever cancel if you want to keep it.

From FAQ - "We hope to launch Humble Choice in 2019"

So i have read whole thread and didn't find answer to my question.
My plan is to subscribe for one month. Then pause every month until i see good bundle for me. Let's say it will be first 10 games bundle. If i decide to get it what will happen? I'll use my only month and will i lose my subscription status as no more months left? Will i be able to renew my Classic subscription?
Comment has been collapsed.
FAQ says that you can pause and you wont lose Classic sub.
So as far as we know - you can skip how much you want and get only the ones you want and you shouldnt lose classic sub unless you cancel
And no, if you cancel, you lose classic sub forever. So information we have ATM - if you want to keep classic sub, either buy or skip a month indefinitely without canceling your sub
Comment has been collapsed.
As in prepaid 3 / 6 / 12 months ?
If you dont have prepaid months then its month to month which i described. Not unless you cancel. And from what i gathered if you have month sub then you resubscribe when that ends and you keep classic su
But i hope someone can fill me in if Im mistaken
Comment has been collapsed.
I think your subscription is independent from your remaining credit.
You can subscribe and afaik you will use your first month instantly, so you won't keep credit. You will then be subscribed forever and can choose to either pay or pause each month.
If you get 1/6/12 Months as a gift you won't be subscribed automatically. You probably use up your credit in the classic plan and will then count as cancelled.
Edit: Till yesterday I had a big "YOU ARE NOT SUBSCRIBED" message somewhere in my profile, even thou I was using my prepaid 12 Months I got gifted (which were always automatically used as if I had been subscribed). Now I officially resubscribed and that message disappered, so I think I'm fine.
Comment has been collapsed.
I assume "officially resubscribing" just means clicking a button on your profile and you don't need to make a further payments on top on the prepaid months you have remaining?
Comment has been collapsed.
Exactly. But instead of running out of credit I will be autocharged then.
Running out of credit while not being subscribed will surely cancel the classic plan; maybe even the fact of not being subscribed, even thou you have credit remaining, will block you from getting classic as soon as humble bundle choice is released.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, you will be autocharged for another year. In theory.
While your subscription is running you can change your plan to monthly at any time.
So you once pay for a year, then change to monthly, and after your year you'll get charged $12 each month.
Edit: that's how it is now. No Idea what options humble will give you in a year.
Comment has been collapsed.
That would be my guess as well. Looks like my safest bet will be just to subscribe the normal way this month. Don't want to miss out on the classic subscription.

To me it looks like okay, i mean, i drunkenly buy 3 years of monthly in 2018, looks like a bargain if you check the plans. (edit: alright, maybe not exactly, but they sure do want us to stay subscribed with that classic thing)
