0 is less than 5, does that count? -w-

Of course. Most of our members were in that boat (until they joined...then it gets pretty easy to win)

I'd love to join, but I can't do any giveaways right now so maybe next time, though there may not be a next time.

Just one question, after joining, the only group giveaways available are the ones made by other new members?

  1. Are you eligible to join? YES

  2. What is required when you become a member of the group? Create 1 group giveaway immediately upon accepting the invite.

Charlie - no. The admin/mods make giveaways as well, plus we have group donators (who donate but can't enter) plus we have a 3:1 ratio, so those who win 3 games in the group should create a new giveaway before winning their 4th.

As long as members of the group enter the giveaway, it counts :)

So the giveaway needs at least 1 entry to count? (I would love to join the group)

  1. I'm not entirely sure, I've created one group giveaway and a 'private' giveaway which was posted to the forums for the Steamgifts Christmas event. That seems 'public' to me, but I'm not sure it would fit your definition of it. I'm more then happy to create multiple giveaways upon joining for the group as a show of good faith if that would help. I've been looking for a small group that allows bundled game giveaways to join, but before now have not seen one. So I do greatly appreciate the chance to join.

  2. Create a giveaway! Not a problem, I've got about 2 years of extra keys collecting dust in a text document.

Odd. Having limited availability but also with that requirement when you become a member does make it sound like quite an unnerving gambit to people who don't give away bundle filler items. Somebody who doesn't enter many (if any) of the group's giveaways within a long period, either due to lack of interest in the titles or an already large steam library, would essentially be taking up limited slots.

Plus, the requirement is a gamble on the group giveaways being the kind of stuff they're interested in. It's pretty much an entry fee.
Don't get me wrong, you're free to run your group how you see fit, but I see it as something of a potentially abusable risk is all.

I can understand and appreciate your concern. The rules have been modified through the groups lifetime to try to improve member experience; most have been created to weed out leechers.

Although we have a limited number of members, it's a pretty high number. Usually we have around members 50 rotating through. And you are right, an entry giveaway is like an entry fee, and yes, we get several bundle games, but not all giveaways are. For instance, one of our new members just posted the new THIEF game. Plus, we have a group of donators and mods who also also hold random group giveaways. You pay 1 "fee" and until you hit 5 games, you can enter as many group giveaways as you want. It may not be a perfect system, but we've held hundreds of giveaways and helped out a lot of unlucky souls.

I'm going to invite you to join, so you can see how it works. If you chose not to participate, I won't be offended. If you do, Welcome and good luck!

It's just my general suspiciousness of certain behaviours online is all. I appreciate that I may have come off as a bit too blunt there.

You know, actually, I do have a spare steam key hanging around for a certain game. I'll take you up on the offer. Even if I stay paranoid and grouchish, at least someone will land a copy of KAG~

Don't apologize, I completely understand. I think once you meet our members, mods, and donators, you will enjoy the group. Sure, a few bad apples get in, but a few out of 50 isn't bad. I think you'll enjoy it, and hopefully win some games.

Good Luck!

  2. Create a group giveaway, preferably not something newly bundled so that it'll get entries!

Good idea for a group, thanks for running something like this. Good luck to everyone :)
