GleamDB: Gleam.io Database
https://gleamdb.info

I made a lot of improvements.
I basically recoded the whole thing to work in PHP and MySQL.
Now it will hourly collect new gleam.io giveaways from my servers, so now it's not clientside anymore.
I changed quantity column to region column, since quantity information was no longer available.
The database loads instantly and you can also sort it instantly.
If you have any improvements, feature requests, bug reports or just feedback, it is much appreciated!
Just let me know!
Thank you all for your feedback so far :)
Enjoy!

Is this site gleam legit?
I mean I spent loooots of hours on it, never won anything... I don't complain.. I know I was just unlucky... but when I saw so many awesome giveaways made with it, mostly they don't even show who won or I can't really check if the award was delivered.

can someone tell me if there is even a point using it?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Probably up to giveaway creator. Gleam simply make entering and selecting winners easier.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, I once won an Oculus Rift, but never got it. I once won a OnePlus 3 phone, but this time I did get it. So yes, it up to the giveaway creator if it is legit.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

shouldn't the winner always be visible and maybe as here "mark as received"?
people would know who they can trust at least when it comes to all those steam groups offering everything and even more :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Giveaway creator can decide to show the winners after it ends or not. BTW, I don't own gleam.io.

Permalink

ok, thank you for some useful info :))

sorry, one more important question: how is the winner notified or is he notified at all or it also depends on giveaway creator?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, it depends on the giveaway creator.

Question: if posting a gleam link is not allowed under the updated rules, is ok posting a link to a database wtih dozens of gleam links?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

yes. same thing as sgtools links having reflinks to elsewhere. though i certainly agree it's walking a fine line.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It is not the same. The database purpose is just linking the gleam giveaways.sgtools purpose is not solely linking referrals. cg already had that discussion with Mully

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

i'm not getting into it again.
with that same logic http://google.com is an illegal link though.

i guess ill try and explain a little better.
mullys example was to literally bypass the new rules, whereas this was implemented prior to the rules and it's sole function was not to "primarily exist as a traffic source for users to perform an action for promotional, commercial, or monetary benefit.", but it instead is rather a search engine that automatically goes out and finds gleam giveaways for you. basically an automated search service and nothing more.

last week i won $400 to jared the galleria jeweler from a gleam giveaway thanks to gleamdb. lol. was able to get a couple gold diamond necklaces and rings. pretty awesome. it was a good mothers day gift.

also one time won $1000 giveaway in clothing from some website in a gleam giveaway. which was also cool. plenty of family members loved that one.

also won beef jerky from one which was super yummy haha. and won some disney movies from another. and a box of loot crate stuff as well which was cool. ive probably won $100 in G2A funds as well from various gleam giveaways. .

ive won tons of things thanks to this database. its my best friend. i always put a hour into entering giveaways every day. still havent won anything "amazing" in terms of what i would love to win. but i hope to win big someday lol (computer parts for sure )

i admit some gleam giveaways from the creators are not marked well enough and i enter them by accident . ive got a box full of dildo's and vibarators from like 5 different dildo giveaways. and they are all unopened since im a guy lmao. i call it my casualty of war box.

but i absolutely thank royal for the DB, its awesome. before its birth, it was difficult to find gleam giveaways as a casual searcher

i have been gleaming for over a year now. these are just what ive won in that time. as soon as royal first posted this over a year ago is when i joined his gleam database, its not like i win all the time or anything. its still pretty rare lol maybe once a month. sometimes twice if i enter the giveaways with low entries. and some giveaways have daily entries. my browser is full of them and i just enter daily to get tons of entries (example) this isnt as many as i normally have. but still http://imgur.com/a/HeQ2V really hoping to win that one lol

If you disabled them, then all fine! It's OK if a site has js mining but if it runs without user confirmation... Anyway, thanks!

Any advice for me? I want to avoid spending money on a domain.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There are some popular free website builders like wix and site123, but not sure if they would meet your needs.

namecheap is probably the best bet for domain names, although not free, they can be as little as 2 euro per year, depending on the extension you choose.

Unfortunately, no. There's loads of places that will give you 'free' domain names if you buy hosting from them, but if you ever need to move the domain to a different site hoster then they make you pay for all the years they covered. Most of the free domain places I knew about eventually got sketchy, so I don't know of any to recommend these days.

I don't know how you had the site set up, but if you're not trying to run ads and it's not resource intensive (and meets the TOS), you might be able to get away with free hosting on Wordpress (you wouldn't have a custom domain name, but I don't know how important that is to you—good SEO is still possible).
