Hmmm...I'd have to say...Super Mario World 3: Warioland, you can just download the ROM for an emulator, it's an original gameboy title. I didn't expect to like this at all, it was a random suggestion from a friend, but as it turned out, I enjoyed it so much, that I played through the entire game twice in a row, so I finished it twice in 2 days xD

2 Suggestions:

• Stealth Bastard Deluxe 2D Stealth-Sidescroller. Pure awesome sauce. (you can get it on Steam or just try the free version of the original game on the lower right of the website: http://stealthbastard.com )
• Rochard - Amazing Indie-Game. 3D-Sidescroller with Jon St. Jon (aka Duke Nukem) providing his voice for the main character John Rochard. Think of it as "Mario meets Half Life 2's Gravity Gun in Space". Awesome sense of humor and a nice, fluid gameplay.

El-Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, Shadows of the Damned and Catherine are some of my favourite games from this generation.
The last 2 games I finished were Blackwell Deception and To The Moon, 2 great games as well. I highly recommend the Blackwell saga if you haven't played it yet

Unreal Tournament 3

I've recently been playing an old classic, Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Superb game.

Also if you like multiplayer deathmatch type of games, I highly recommend Red Eclipse, it's a free multiplayer fps game.

Burnout Paradise

The entire Penny Arcade series is a great series of games to play and the first two stack with each other, and the third "ties in" it is very much worth a play through and is very awesome as well as a good time comsuming series with amazing jokes

Gothic and Gothic 2

Play "9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors" if you don't mind reading and anime graphics, it's one of those "puzzle-survival" (for DS or emulator)

Unreal Tournament, because It's an "EPIC" game... I'm so funny.

Some Ignored games? Well, you gotta try Mini Ninjas, Bionic Commando, Dante's Inferno or Heavy Rain :) MINI NINJAS - You gonna play as a little ninja going from his temple to save his friends. You gonna play multiple characters with different special abilitys. Funny story and nice gameplay, cartoonish graphics are also good. Not repetitive since you have like 5 ninjas to play with.
BIONIC COMMANDO - Gameplay is EPIC! You have some kind of hand that can cath on like any surface ( much better than Just Cause's hook ) . I found the story really good end emotional at the end, and some nice gameplay. Sadly it will become a little repetitive, but story will hold you there !
DANTE'S INFERNO - This game combines God of War's gameplay and some of best storys i've ever played. You gonna walk through 9 circles of Hell, each with his epic devils and great final boss. You gonna try to save your wife Beatrice from the Devil, with some epic turn of events that will hold you there 'till the end.
HEAVY RAIN - Fantastic gameplay and storys, one of the best games i played, but sadly this title is PS3 ONLY ! Some really nice gameplay mecanics and captivating story, you gonna play 4 characters trying to find the Origami Killer, each characters having own problems and objectives. Awesome graphics, and mabye the most important thing: the story is yours. You can have multiple endings and each walkthrough can be different, according to your decision. Gameplay is mostly based on quick-time-events, but you will get use to it and 'till the end you gonna love it, trust me :) I strongly recommand this game to all PS3 owners, one of the best games ( among Uncharted and God of War ) from this platform.

I highly recommend Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten. The name does nothing to inspire interest and I'd have ignored it altogether if a friend hadn't gifted it to me, but it's actually really fun. It combines tower defense with the story and character leveling elements of an RPG, and does so remarkably well. Plus, it's got a lot of replayability with multiple difficulties for each level, a "plus" mode after you've finished the game once, and achievements that challenge you to play through under special conditions.

Overall, it's a surprisingly entertaining game, all the more so if you already enjoy tower defense.

Stealth Bastard both the free version (download from the developers site) and deluxe version (which is on steam) also check out Drakensang: The Dark Eye , if you like rpg-s like Dragon Age Origins. And finally check out Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf for the PS1 (one of my favorite games) if you dont mind emulators.
