I haven't played Dota in about a month, and even before then I was playing very little. With the changes they've been making, no events and hardly any item drops, I just don't want to play any more. Was considering selling one of my high value items to get that Phantom Assassin set when it came out recently, but I decided against it because why should I spend more money on a game I hardly play these days? This coming from someone who has about 1500 hours on record.

totally understandable, with all these character nerfing and buffs to already overpowered characters it seems like dota its becoming unfair to most and not really just because of that but with all the other updates. it just doesnt seem worth it to play much anymore, i dont think valve has heard of if it works leave it alone. cause with all this stuff they are doing its eventually gonna break or make the game worse

To me, it's already made the game a lot worse. I used to have about 6 friends irl who played more Dota than I do (they are the reason I got into it), and all of them have pretty much moved on and are now playing CS:GO a lot. One of them cut down a lot since the change in gold and XP gain back when they changed the map. With all these other changes on top of things that were already not received well, I'm surprised they keep going with the bad decisions.

exactly. they are taking a game that was the best of its kind and slowly ruining it. i like the old dota better. The one that wasnt broken less then 8 months ago

i know right :( they took both really good events this year and gave a crappy character and now a update for the dota 2 engine. i thought the current engine was fine

They are working on the new game engine. that's the reason there was no diretide and no frostivus this year. New bloom will come at least.

i know. i just didnt see it necessary. in my opinion the game is fine just as is

Well, after I'll cut down on playing Dota2. I hated it anyway because I suck at it and people hate me for being terrible at it. The game simply has no sympathy for people that frequently lose. I'll probably stick to TF2 for drops now.
I like the Pokemon TCG Online model of getting the same reward whether you win or lose. I thought the purpose of gaming was to have fun. Can't believe it's come to be a show of wealth and who has the best gaming mouse and makes fun of you for using a controller when playing CS:GO.
Bottom line: it's just a game. When the game is no longer fun, stop playing it and move on to another game.

Thats right no frostivus 2014 for dota 2. Was really looking forward to it but then again they did cancel dire tide earlier this year. honestly not surprised with valve lately haha even though they are upgrading other things about dota 2
