yeah, prices for games have been getting ridiculous for years. A good salary here is 3 euros per hour. I have 0 possibilities compared to other people living in other coutnries where salary is 3 times more, or even more.

Which is why I pirate lots of games and screw everyone that gets up in my face trying to make me feel crappy for doing it.
Thanks for the giveaway :)

Prices for games have not changed all that much from a decade ago... The difference is that now there is DLC.

I disagree. I don't remember seeing games costing 50 bucks/euros 10 years ago. Not even counting dlcs.
Edit: Resident evil, for example ( even though it's a good game. 50 bucks... geez...)
Edit2: Also, not even gonna talk about season passes, early accesses and stuff like that. Game industry is going downhill because people insist on giving companies reasons to do so.

Base game prices are the same. Games used to cost the rough equivalent of 60 dollars in local currency in Europe even before the Euro. Even when they were distributed in large-ass boxes instead of DVD cases. The new thing nowadays is the season pass, which may add another 30-80 dollars on the base price.

You are right in one thing, that some games (CoD, Battlefield, and similar kiddie shooters) do tend to ship with an 80-dollar starting price tag.

I remember paying £40 for Master System games, that was well over $50 back then.

Then you don't remember correctly. Games definitly were just as expensive. But I agree that season passes and early access are not great. But I wouldn't say the industry going downhill. Yeah, some companies are shit, but there are still a lot of big companies that continue to develop great games. Not to mention all the amazing indie games, which all wouldn't have had a chance before Steam.

They probably won't have a spring/easter sale. The next major sale will probably be the summer sale in late June or early July.

I'm sure you have a back log, why not play some of those games while you wait? These are probably good: Spec Ops: The Line, Dragon Age: Origins, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Metro 2033, The Stanley Parable, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

They may not be the newest games, but with an updated computer you should be able to run them at higher settings.
