a lot of people have the first 2 games wish listed + those games have never been bundled b4 (the Warhammer game by itself hasn't dropped under $16 before this bundle)

So i was excited to go for Groupbuys knowing full well that i would get the bundle myself if i would not get at least Persona 4 and Lamplighters League through it. Turns out i got all four i was interested in through it.

+1 good explanation! i myself love costume quest so much, so i agree with that positive. i admit i love warhammer games, as long as they are strat......not a huge on the ones they made like vermintide tho, its just a reskinned left 4 dead and i hate "kill waves coop games"

I finally got time to answer!
persona 4: actually my first (and only) persona game is persona 2 and i pretty much hate it (iirc it is because of the grind)? But i watched the anime for this one and i liked it, plus some of my friends tell me that it is a good game so i'm kinda interested to give it a try.
lamplighters league: honestly, i didnt know it was from the shadowrun devs, but i like shadowrun, so knowing that is like another reason for me to give it a try. As for my initial reason, i like story rich games and the game feels like it focuses more on the story rather than the gameplay, plus i saw that the gameplay is kinda unique.
cassette beasts: this one is a no brainer for me. I am a sucker for pixelated and monster taming games.
the bookwalker: pretty much the same reason as you tbh. It looked interesting, thats all.
garden life: idk, it is a good bonus. I am also like you; i need to play these kinds of games when im in the mood, but i dont think it is that bad since it has a story mode so...
darktide: horror is auto skip for me.
karmazoo: coop is auto skip for me. Nice concept, but it feels painful to 100% this game.
hexarchy: idk about this one. I like card games but i hate strategy games. But im leaning to a no atm.

I’ll second your friends - persona 1 and 2 are honestly pretty different from 3-5. It’s still an incredibly long game, but as someone who hates grinding, I love it.

I assume the grind isnt as bad as persona 2? I mean, i dont mind grinding a bit (i like to explore around anyway) but i just dont like spending 1-2 hours in the same place just because i cant progress the game, and not because i decide to do so, hahah.

Overall I’d say it’s better but it also depends on the difficulty you pick and I believe if you want to 100% the game some things require extra grinding, but it’s been a while so that last part may be uncorrect. As someone who usually plays easy/normal, no, I don’t think you need to stay and grind often. Pretty good leveling so long as you don’t avoid every enemy as you go.

I am glad my first experience with Persona will not be 1 or 2 because i hate excessive grind too.
Just started with Lamplighter myself so far the game reminds me the most of Mutant Year Zero. If it keeps like that i will enjoy the game till the end (Mostly because you can sneack around and weaken the ranks before entering the actual combat). But do not expect something story heavy as Shadowrun ;)

What I liked about P4G. The actual story. The character development. The social interactions. The Lounge and everything related to that.
What I didn't like: The excessive grind. The ability to only choose one activity every evening. And the excessive grind. What could be a 40 hour game ends up being 80+ instead due to all the filler.
At least, that was my experience when I was playing it on the Vita way back when.

I got one also all of a sudden. I haven't logged in to my Paradox account in probably a year+ and hadn't fiddled with my previous settings, just got this 'Welcome to Lamplighter's League' email out of nowhere. I do get Paradox game related emails occasionally though (which is probably an option in Paradox account settings). I hadn't toggled anything specifically for Lamplighter's League itself.
All's I remember doing was adding the game to my Steam account.

You may have done so at one point and don't remember. IIRC you can choose to use one with several Paradox games and link your Steam account to it, so if you did that, they probably keep tabs and see if you've activated new games (to give you their bonus items and such.)

Great month for me, 3 games from my wishlist: Cassette Beasts, Garden Life, and The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales.
I imagine the highlight for most are P4G, which is an amazing game that I already own, and Darktide, a game in a genre that i only occasionally enjoy playing.

I have been pausing for 3 months in a row and I haven't been offered a $4 discount coupon, some time ago they offered them every 1-2 pauses, does it happen to you too lately?
