Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 releases in Japan on July 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game will get a physical release only on PS4 and Switch in Japan, where the PS4 version will come in two discs and the Switch version will come with a Switch cartridge and a download.

I like news like this.
New game in works - maybe it will be good.
Old games coming - we know what we'll get (unless super-über fucked up port)

Let's hope that this is what all of Mighty No.9 failed to deliver :). Plus Megaman X on PC? Hell yeah.

I played that game when it was free, and while it shows promise, it rips off too many levels and boss patterns from the official Mega Man games to be worth a recommendation.

I was not aware that this had been free, I would've liked to try it.

It just currently sits on my wishlist.

It never was free, it was just in a "hell will freeze before somebody will release it outside Japan, so nobody will mind if dirty gaijins will just download it" state.

But isn' that game a rogue-lite? That always kept me from trying it. I'd prefer a simple sequence of levels, not having to start over again and again.

Unless it's a "rogue-lite lite" like the brilliant Sundered. That is the only game I've seen so far that did it in a way that was fun for me.

Yeah, it's a roguelite, but actually pretty easy compared to most rogueiltes on normal difficulty, considering it's somewhat easy to recover HP.

Still, regerdless of being a roguelite or not, the gameplay, which is the most important part, is perfect, very responsive and similar to Mega Man X.

The level design is indeed poorer compared to most Mega Man X games, specially being procedural and too much focused on platforming sections, but still has the benefit of increased replayability.

I'd suggest getting it and giving it a go, and if you don't dig it just refund. Or just watch some gameplay!

I also love its achievements, always requiring specific runs to be earned, and the difficulty ceiling is really really high with defiant difficulty and its skulls, so you can have the challenge you want.

Honestly, that's way too expensive for what is probably just an emulator, like the first Legacy Collection. I know people love Mega Man and will pay every price. But 36€... come on... ^^

Well, there's 8 (i think?) games in it and a bunch of extra stuff like artworks, challenges, etc so i guess it's not that bad. I wouldn't pay full price for it though, especially because the Legacy Collection is a bad port and you could probably play a better version with an actual emulator.

Well that's 4,50 per game which is in my opinion a fair price.
Plus they added a challenge mode to the collections, artwork and more.

I don't know. Compare that to the Sega Classics Collection, for example. Those games are 1€ each, and with the collection it's even .78€. Sure, some of those games could be considered a lower quality. But the price difference is still quite high.

I just don't think old games that are re-sold with an emulator should cost that much. They put in minimal effort and ask for a premium price. And of course they do it because they know they can. Because Mega Man has a lot of fans (including me).

I think 4,50€ for such old games are to high priced for the minimal work they have with the port and the emulator. I get for that money Dishonored or For Honor or good older strategy Games as examples...
I think all over 2€ is not a fair price.
A lot will buy them at this price too and that is the reason why they take so much money for them.

Hm, so far it seems that I can't buy the Megaman X Legacy Collection alone and just in combination with the Legacy Collection 2. I hope they change that. For now I'm only interested in the first four games.
