Lies. Just about every gaming system has fun exclusive games that make it worth playing.

Except the Casio Loopy.

The only thing that could be given away are a few indie games, MSP, and Gold which isn't worth it honestly :V

There is http://www.reddit.com/r/RandomActsOfGaming. Occasionally someone will do a giveaway for an xbox download code, or MS points. Not that often though, maybe a handful a week.

One of the things that i don't like about consoles is that games are too expensive for them, and i think it's difficult to think that exists a site like steamgifts for console.

I do something that most Steam users are familiar with, waiting for sales. :P

Plus, there is still the option of used copies, as long as you are careful and get one that was well treated by the previous owner. Allowed me to build a collection of console games larger than my Steam library.

Why do xbox users(1 and 2) keep making these threads?

I don't see Nintendo nor Playstation users making these kind of threads... Maybe cause they are smart enough to know that there isn't any way to do it on consoles. (and smart enough to not pay for online.)

Can you? :o

Well shitttt I've owned a wii for like 5 years and didn't know that. lol :p

Though I've also never accessed the wii store ever because nothing much is on it really.

Also haven't touch my wii in like 2 years. I see it in the corner, abandoned, dusty, and depressed.

Yeah, though I've only done it once myself, to give a friend The Legend of Zelda (NES).

I've only used the store for some Virtual Console games since my only other Nintendo console before that was the Gamecube. No NES, SNES or N64 for me.

How does it work exactly? You get a gift inventory like steam?

Weird that Wii the lesser of that gen has it but 360 and PS3 don't.

Nope. You need someone in your friend list (which means using those annoying 16 digit friend codes) and they must be in the same region (US, AUS, UK, etc). When making the purchase, Gift is an option, and that will send it to their system to be accepted by them within several weeks. No clue what happens if they don't accept it.

The Wii store isn't entirely all that great for anything -except- Nintendo classics (Super Mario Bros. on other consoles, Zelda/Link games, etc.). It's easier to just download them directly to your PC and not have to worry about that whole mess of finding games that will work, etc.

Well I'm sorry that you're disappointed, but look on the bright side, at least you have something to keep your room warm.
