Full Metal Alchemist (brotherhood, the one that actually followed the storyline) always was a general great one, didnt push itself past it's lifespan like a lot of other larger anime/manga... Recently, enjoyed the sheer silliness and humor in One Punch Man, read it for a long time and enjoyed watching the new-ish anime adaptation.

I loved the original (haven't yet seen Brotherhood), and that's even with awful unofficial subtitles that came with my boxset, because apparently it was a cheap knock-off. Not only did they get the names wrong, they constantly changed between mentions. Nothing ruins a serious moment like referring to a superior as Colonel Manstank. Still loved it, though probably missed some plot points due to that.
I got a bunch of anime in one order from ebay, and that FMA wasn't the worst one. There was an Elfen Lied subtitle that decided to dub the sound of people crying. The subtitle line for each sob was "hoot". They also subtitled a dog barking, and decided that the puppy was in fact saying "doggy" with each bark.
Fun times, back then!

I still wonder what kind of medication was the director on. Although it is within the limit of that it is not that artsy that only one person knows what the ever-loving fuck does it mean, it can be interpreted in a number of ways instead. (Although, ironically, I prefer the original, rushed ending.)
I'm curious how the ReBuild will end though. It is rather obvious that it will be nothing like the original series. Or the End.

Oh, hooray, someone likes Utena... :) Bought all that stuff, haven't touched any of it in ages, though... :( Seem to remember there was a remastered version released not too long ago, but had kinda stopped watching cartoons by that point. :( Oh well, more money to waste on Steam instead... :)

Yep, there is a remaster, which cleared up the original footage at some place and even added a little here and there (some scenes have additional frames now, often to make them more suggestive). And there seems to be an even newer version—at least I found new… erm… "rentable" versions in 1080p, and the movie was even a true 1080p, not an upscaled 720p.
