My Steam profile is at level 14 and I can't even remember when was the last time I got a booster pack. What about you guys, how often do you receive booster packs?

Why do you think he's trolling us? It's not a secret that higher level accounts on Steam receive booster packs more often. You are level 21, did you check his profile? He is level 95. That is way higher than you or me, I am level 30 and I still don't receive booster packs so often. In fact, I think it's been like year since I've received my last booster pack. Sometimes it feels like it's random but the chance gets definitely higher as you level up on Steam.

The drop rates increases every 10 levels till you reach level 50. It doesn't only depend on level but on how many games you own that can drop you booster packs. Plus the chance increase is kinda joke

Actually, I've asked around. They seem to keep increasing indefinitely.

Yeah my fault I've read this:

Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)
Etc.

and didn't see the etc. But still the increase is not that big. For example if you had 0.5% percent to get one, on level 50 you will have 1%.
IMO it is not worth the money you will spend to reach that level

I'm averaging around 2 boosters a week out of 5 accounts. Once you hit 50 it's not worth trying to level past it, focusing on alternate accounts is far more cost effective.

5 accounts

Shake my head til my neck breaks.

I don't hate the game nor the player, so keep doing what you are doing, not judging you at all.

I go for bundles that I can get for a dollar with at least 4 trading card games so that i can get most of my money back or make a nice profit off of. These sites are too unreliable to make good money off of.

So you are buying multiple bundles, idling on all the games on different accounts, barely getting your money back from selling the cards (and not even getting real money, but "Steam" money), all that waste of time and money just to get a chance of getting a few booster packs every month, and sell it for a few cents?

Wait, by checking your accounts, you are crafting badges to get them to atleast lvl 10... That's not very profitable :p

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

its profitable when sale hits. getting all those sale cards by voting with alts. you need lvl8 for that btw

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Used to be. Last sale wasn't really profitable (due to lack of any sale-event, but still, voting alone gave around $1), especially if you wanted to craft cards - beside cheap cards from indiegala-free games, most badges gave more profit than crafting them and selling cards :(

Yeah that sale was bad because they added the gem collector but I can't think of anything that they would implement that they would do instead of putting items in the seasonal badges for future sales but they do something different for every seasonal sale so who knows. I was in denial with what they were doing and lost out on $10 to $15 but I still made $30 in the end

I easily make my money most of the time and usually get 50 cents to a dollar in profit. The times that I miss don't make my money back are when I can make badges for less then 20 cents. With my back catalog of cards and boosters (Last week I got 4) I'm getting every week I'm making a minimum of a dollar a week it's enough for me to get Arkham Knight and the new Deus Ex for free.

I am also buying the bundles from money I've earned from doing online surveys so now that I've started doing this I have not touched my pay cheque towards games in 2 years.
