Curiosity. Thought I could look into other books.

Myself currently Kagerou Daze, but the volumes take a long time to release.

I've got like 20 different things I'm reading since they all take so long to update. Only ones I'm currently reading that I'd recommend (that aren't on hiatus) are Dungeon Meshi, Goblin Slayer, and Boku no Hero Academia.

Honestly I find it's much easier to read stuff that's already finished. For that I'd recommend Toriko, Blame!, and JoJo's finished arcs.

Dungeon Meshi is pretty good, but I worry we'll see less cooking and more drama.
Toriko is good for people who don't want to wait a month for their cooking fix, plus the designs are much more imaginative since it's not trying to mimic Wizardry.

A bit disappointed the official translation didn't take over some of the better quotes from the fan-Translation. But nothing to much. Also still waiting for Rachel to become likely. I believe she has her own circumstances and TOG's world is clearly depicted as darwinistic. Still, so far she wasn't even trying to make her point.
Would also like some kind of indication/confirmation who the main heroine is. Would hope for Hwa Ryun but it is rather unlikely.

Currently I am reading (using the JP titles since I usually read them in French and don't know if they're published in English):

  • Mahou Tsukai no Yome / Ancient Magus Bride (I think it's well-known? it's great, the anime is good too)
  • Hakumei to Mikochi (slice of life somewhat between Arietty and Wind in the Willows, amazing backgrounds)
  • Hengoku no Schwester (edgy thing in a late medieval convent)
  • Aoi Horus no Hitomi (Ancient Egypt stuff about Hatshepsut, only read the first one so far, it's OK)
  • Arte (Italian Renaissance stuff, great costumes, kinda silly heroine)
  • Gisele Alain (early 20th century Paris slice of life, read this mostly for the costumes, no progression for a while)
  • Otoyomegatari / Bride Stories (late 19th or early 20th, I forgot, Turkey, again mostly for the costumes)
  • Totsukuni no Shoujo / Siúil a Rún (somewhat dark story about cursed people in an early-modern setting)
  • Fumetsu no Anata e / To your Eternity (fantasy thing about an immortal shapeshifting organism)
  • Somali to Mori no Kami-sama (fantasy travel thing, it's alright but not extremely original)
  • Dead Dead Demon’s Dededededestruction (Inio fucking Asano, great, like all his manga)
  • Yako to Poko (weird slice of life in low-tech future with plush robots, absolutely love it)

There might be some more I'm forgetting, since I'm only grabbing titles from a table near me. Also planning to read Frau Faust (genderswapped Faust, obvious title) and Citrus (popular yuri series). These titles will probably not appeal to most of the weebs. I'm not into shonen at all besides Jojo, can't stand fanservicey comedy and haven't read shojo in ages.

A lot of those sound interesting to me. Will look into them!
I'm not interested in most manga either. So thanks for sharing something unusual!

Since you seem to be French, I can provide you with their French names if you want? Most are published by Komikku (which is not very well-known as a publisher).

Don't bother yourself with that, I'll find them myself :) Generally the french names are also the english names anyway (like Bride Stories which I already knew about). :)

Apparently you can find it in English under the name "To You, The Immortal" as well (probably in scans, since the official publisher-set name seems to be "To Your Eternity" in English as it is in French).

You have to write on them first, silly, otherwise what are you gonna read?
You can ask someone else to do it for you, though, there are a few very good mango writers out there.

Right now I'm just checking up on Berserk from time to time, in case any new chapters were published. By the way, check Berserk out if you haven't, guys.
Also, I think I'm somewhere at the middle of Shonan Junai Gumi! (the prequel to Great Teacher Onizuka), but I haven't read that in a while either.

A lot of the community reads manga, I was thinking that maybe we should post our MAL or something... although it would make the conversation much less personal... :)

Kinda tired with this kind of thread, but never tired to recommend some of my favorite comic
You can call me hipster, I'm not interested to those popular comic anyway

  1. Blame! (simply Masterpiece)
  2. Onani Master Kurosawa (yeah, I know You'll never want to read something with this kind of title, but You'll miss something in your life)
  3. Pandora Hearts (Every character is bastard, Protag included, forget about all those Yaoi Fujoshi, it's all about Loyality)
  4. Sora no Otoshimono (The Final anime adaptation is crap)
  5. Kono Shima ni wa Midara na Jaaku na Mono ga Sumu (Mystery comic about an island with regenerative mans and soul transfer womans)

for the longest time i stopped reading manga, got back into following series' with Golden Kamuy from a friend recommendation, it's a historical seinen series that has a lot of focus on Ainu mythology and cuisine. It goes pretty in depth about the time period its set in, a lot of research was clearly done on it. It's very interesting. I also just started reading MHA, currently up to volume 8

I mostly tend to watch anime, and when I finish one, if I want to know what happens next and I'm not patient enough to wait for another season, I'll catch up with the manga. I don't usually seek out manga on its own anymore (D. Grayman being the only exception currently, as the others finished), so that's why I don't have a huge list.

  • Blue Exorcist (my favorite right now and has been for a while)
  • Attack on Titan
  • Seraph of the End
  • Tokyo Ghoul: re
  • Noragami (but it's been on hiatus for almost a year now :C)
  • D. Grayman (quarterly releases hurt, but...well, at least it updates at all)

Wouldn't have expected to see this one here. It is quite hilarious although it heavily shifted from the Initial psychological battles to the more romantic stuff later on. Although watching Fujiwara, Ishigami or Hayasaka is still as fun as ever.

I just started To You, The Immortal which is by the same mangaka who wrote A Silent Voice so I really should've expected it, but the first chapter was incredibly heartbreaking. I don't know why I do these things to myself. ;__;
So to balance that out, I've also got Gakuen Babysitters, a.k.a. the cutest manga I've ever freakin' seen.
Also rereading Psychic Detective Yakumo because the wait for updates is killing me.
