Uncharted collection is PS4, the PS3 versions are a separate purchase.
Journey, however, is a cross buy title. Buy for either, can play on both. I imagine people will get the PS3 version as well once claimed.

They gave away lots of games for PS3 (I've gotten Mirror's Edge, Minecraft, God of War: Ascension, Theme Hospital and Super Frog HD for free) and did many more sales over the years, but they also brought out the PS4 more than 6 years ago, the PS3 is kind of discontinued. Sure, people still have it and you will still see some sales, but it isn't a primary focus. It would be like a Steam dev giving out games that only work on XP, no way to work them in later operating systems. Some people still use it, but not what anyone focuses on at this point.

Ah yes, dropping prices should happen (though that depends on the publisher of each game, not just Sony), but they honestly forget they have them. There was one point where the Sales tab just stopped showing those games even when they had sales. And a time where they broke the download system for PS3. They fixed both eventually, but the system is just ignored.
My point about it being ignored is just about why it isn't seeing free games.
At least on PlayStation, used games is an option, you can always hunt down some for a few dollars in most cases.

I just found it a bit weird to mention this as an answer to criticism of unreasonable prices. I not at all invested in Sony's games ecosystem.
I have to say I'm fairly regularly surprised about some of XBL discounts though. Sometimes they're even better than what we get on the PC side which is a bummer as I'm useless playing almost everything with a controller and I prefer PC for other reasons as well.

Absolutely. I have had a PS account without owning a PS console because I play on PC via PSNow. I claimed the above games to add to that PS account as well just in case I get a PS console in the future.

I get that. I had bought the games before they even came to PS+ so I actually didn't make out on any of it. It's still cool for other people though and the money Sony is donating for indie devs is cool too. I have so many games on the other hand that it is probably better I didn't get more. lol
One problem they are having though is people who got the games through PS+ can't redeem the games cause it shows they already own them.

Contact Sony web support, ask them to remove X free Plus game, then you can buy it as usual, or claim the free deal in this case. Support might be slow, but you have around 2 - 3 weeks to claim.

As I mentioned in the comment you are replying to I already bought the games a long time ago. I actually own them before PS+ or being free to everyone. I am not the one having this issue. I was just stating others were.

I have read you can claim the game from the PS store via mobile even if you got them through PS+. You don't actually own the game on PS+. They are just rentals. The above giveaway is totally free though.

I know that you don’t actually own them. They are yours unless you cancel sub. I let others know that they can get it through the mobile app if they still have problems. I already own the games because i bought them a long time ago.

I never said anything was wrong with it. I get that not everyone has PS+. I was just saying it would have been nice if they would have dropped us something a little different. Hell, I would have taken Knack 2 as Japan got even though it's not a greatly rated game. Like I replied to Thed above many subscribers who got the game in plus can't redeem the free to own forever games because they got it through plus. That is a bummer for those who would like to actually own it instead of losing it if they cancel their plus sub.
I also beat the uncharted games on PS3 with platinums and then did the same in the collection for PS4. It's just a bummer for us who have PS+ when the collection was just given out like 2 months ago. You need to also remember a lot of people have PS+ who are a little bummed with this. Sony has 38 million subscribers for plus.

It seems like the information regarding this is very hard to interpret accurately. Even Digital Foundry have a hard trying to figure out what the things Sony said so far actually means. I can't remember when I saw quite as much speculation in a DF video as in this one where they discuss backward compatibility.

In the video they make it sound like it's likely that most games will be playable but maybe not necessarily better and are somewhat curated to see if the increased performance messes things up.
It's kind of like with emulators, sometimes when you unlock the framerate for certain games it makes them run faster or certain events which are tied to the framerate.
I hope that the most important exclusives run in a higher resolution and if possible with a better framerate as I'd like to play some of the PS4 games I missed by not buying one....but we'll see :D

I Only beat Uncharted 1 PS3 was Fun it felt like playing Tomb Raider.
