I'm bored out of my mind recently. Everything is super boring and I don't want to do anything. I can't stop sighing and I'm sure it's annoying my housemates. I wonder if my depression is relapsing... I tried playing video games, watching anime, cleaning up my room etc. I'm still bored to death. Any ideas to defeat boredom are welcome :) I don't really have close friends so I can't ask them

Things I like to do when I'm bored:

  • Walking/hiking
  • Bike riding (when my knee isn't acting up)
  • Programming
  • Read a book
  • Watch Youtube (PBS Space Time, Mumbo Jumbo, Game/Film Theory) or one of my family's streaming services (HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, etc.)
  • Video games (although you mentioned you tried that)

You could also see if there are any meet ups meeting virtually for something you are generally interested in. If you have family that lives nearby, try getting in touch with them. Or try bugging your roommates to see if they will do anything with you ;)

Sounds like depression. Being bored is something we pretty much all experience, especially in 2020 the Most Boring Year Ever but if you already have a history and you also don't feel like eating, or you start getting dark thoughts, don't wait to talk to a doctor.

As for curing boredom, if you don't feel like doing anything, there's not much you can do. If it's just a case of "been there, seen that, done that, whatever, is it still 2020?!!", try google. I'm not kidding. Sometimes I feel down and I have no heart to be involved in something so movies and tv are out. I just google combinations of letters at random and see where that leads me

That's just me though. I like to learn so it always gets me out of the funk. If that doesn't do much for you, random youtube videos can be fun. Or try repetitive mindless hobbies. It's almost meditative to keep your hands busy while your mind wanders.

Bump 🤜🤛
I've been wanting to go for a walk, but it's been too damn hot. Maybe you should try going for a walk as well, it might help.

Thanks for the nice 🚂 :)

Maybe learn an instrument or an online course. Something to keep your mind busy learning about something you enjoy.

Oh. And. Bump.

*sigh* I hope that you'll find something interesting to do, for life is too short to be wasting time. Relaxing isn't wasting time though, it's recovery. So it's fine to be productive or just lazying around... But you gotta enjoy it.
