Ideas: go to a library, buy a travel magazine, go to live music bar, go to a voluntary activity, go to the mass (substitute with your own rite), go to a gym, go to a swimming pool, go to the river/lake/sea (if your place has one), go and visit your parents house, go and visit your grandparents house, go to a travel agency and plan an imaginary trip, go to a DIY store, go to a construction site, go to a park or garden, go to a wood, go to a part of your town where you have never been.
When you've checked all these, go to the pub and have some booze.

I have a long history with boredom. Drinking coffee is my number one solution and the only one that really works almost every single time. It's funny because I don't even like the taste of coffee. But the effect is very real for me so I've accepted coffee in my life as a necessary medication.
That said, my worst periods of boredom were connected to not getting enough sleep and not sleeping regularly every night. So before adding tons of caffeine into your system, always take care of your sleeping patterns. Especially because caffeine can fudge them up.
Another idea is to read the wikipedia article on boredom or even dig deeper into scientific papers. Boredom is in fact a failure of attention, which explains a lot.

My vote will be on Rubik's Cube. It does feel really nice to learn and effectively solve the cube by your own.

I'm bored out of my mind recently. Everything is super boring and I don't want to do anything. I can't stop sighing and I'm sure it's annoying my housemates. I wonder if my depression is relapsing... I tried playing video games, watching anime, cleaning up my room etc. I'm still bored to death. Any ideas to defeat boredom are welcome :) I don't really have close friends so I can't ask them
