Here's my review:

Steamboat Bill Jr. (1928)

This is perhaps one of the most overlooked classic comedies of the silent era. Buster Keaton performs gags that have often been imitated, but the strength of the original still holds up after almost 90 years. If you have never seen the silent classics of Buster Keaton, you owe it to yourself to see this one. You won't be disappointed.

Nice review. I still have to catch up on some of the silent era movies, so if you recommend it, I'll give it a go. If you'd like to join our group, I'm going to send you an invite. Just make sure you check out the group guidelines on the main page of the group and if you get stuck on something, ask me on Steam, as it can seem a little overwhelming at first (it's not really). Hope to see you in the group.

I Want to get in! Not really much of an movie Addict right know actually enjoy series more in the moment honest time And Because i don't know what to watch
Anyway i still watch a couple of movies a year here's my review of the Last i saw without any spoiler at sight! :)

Suicide Squad (August 2016)

Ok, this was in my humble opinion the most hyped movie of the year maybe with the exception of Deadpool maybe. The espectations were pretty high, and I don't really enjoy movies about super-heroes, the typical ones, i mean i can watch but i'm not in love with it by any means.
The Intro to the characters was a little long-ish, but it was cool and fun, it was good imo, the characters had personality, Harley Quinn had the most, Will Smith was pretty good too, some characters namely the boomerang guy and the climber? were not really expanded deeply into their characters and it felt like he wasn't part of the group or overshadowed by the others.
I Enjoyed the movie, it was fun, had action, fights, the only thing that felt off was the villains ironic heh, and i mean the villains villains, almost to none backstory, we don't really know what they were gonna do, take over the world with a machine full of stuff?, and CGI all over the fucking place.
Anyway in conclusion it was a good movie, not that great like movie of the year but it was good, hoping for a better sequel!
Enjoyed Deadshot, really liked Diablo, Harley obviously and loved the backstory, Joker imo was pretty nice too but had some holes in it, he deserved a little more screen time, Boomerang was funny sometimes but meh, The Japanese Girl was pretty badass, The Soldier guy was ok too, hmm and Walker was pretty badass too, i don't think im missing anyone

Sorry for the longer review, next time i will try to keep it a little short!
Thanks for reading if you did ^^

I watched Suicide Squad and did a review on it in my DOOM giveaway (which is still running). I agree with you in most aspects. I thought it was a good movie if you don't overthink it too much. I'm always afraid of movies (and games) that get hyped this much, so I wasn't surprised it wasn't received as well. Nice review. I'd like to invite you to join our group. We only ask that you check out the group guidelines on the main page of the group and if anything is unclear, feel free to add me on Steam to ask. Welcome to the group!

Hello, I've been a movies and tv addict since a couple of years. I've discovered IMDB around 2008 and been a member since 2010 and now my number of ratings is a little bit too high to be proud of.
Anyway here's the review (sorry for the english, I normally speack french) :

Ip Man (2008)
I decided to review this title now, after seeing the movie for the third time. It's a lot for me because I watch too many things to have the time for multiple viewings. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I must say, at first I wasn't expecting a lot from this. It was one of the first martial arts movie i've seen along with a couple of Jackie Chan movies.

Donnie Yen was one of the reason I wasn't sure to like this movie. His face seems like he had no emotions at all so I was thinking : how can a guy like this could do good acting. Let me say that he earned my respect with this movie, I was completely wrong. He fits perfectly for this role.

This movie is not only for martial arts fans but also contains historical events between China and Japan. There's a lot of good fights accompanying a really good story.

Now that I have seen a lot of martial arts movies, this one's still my favorite followed by the second one. The third one was also surprisingly good.

I have always wondered how no talk movies were like. I've also never watched Charlie Chaplin before. So i decided to try "City Lights" (1931) given it's high score and positive reception from people.

Well... the movie made me fall in love with silent movies. Beautiful and moving. Makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Charlie Chaplin directed, wrote AND played the main part. A talented man really. I heard that he made the score too but i'm not sure. Maybe you heard but Charlie Chaplin is a perfectionist. He shoots the same scene countless times. In fact he shot one scene 342 times :o. The movie never bores you. It always finds a way to refresh itself by putting the main character in different situations, a lot of them being really funny situations. Well anyways i would write a longer review but i am a little busy right now.

PS. I want to be an actor ':D I'm taking acting classes and all. So i am PRETTY obsessed with movies and plays :)

Well anyways i would LOVE to join the group cause i love talking about movies/series :)

I watch movies and series constantly, at least one movie or couple episodes everyday so I can really appreciate the idea for this group! But sadly I don't think I can commit to the rules with my financial situation, so just have this bump instead. :)

I write a little about my impressions about Strager Things. It is not difficult to recognize in the plot and character references to other stories. Dynamic impossible and quarrelsome brothers between the bucolic atmosphere of a quiet town where nothing happens and everyone knows each other and know each other's lives, Stranger Things brings not exactly news in your script, but that does not make it less interesting. As a picture of the past, it's fun and comfortable face production through the innocent eyes of children here play the role of protagonists much harder than adults. Winona Ryder shines aright, but Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, gaten Matarazzo and Millie Brown are the true highlights of the plot. The sharp discussions on Lord of the Rings RPG and rules for investigations concerning the mystery that round, the interaction between friends is shown so honestly that invites the viewer to be part of it at the same level: imaginative, uncompromised. Magic.

I do like movies and series, but I guess I am more of an animated movies / cartoons series and even anime guy...not sure if that still counts for anything thou :-S . The latest movie I remember watching at the cinema was Suicide Squad, which was an ok movie, had plenty of action and humor, but sort of a weak far-fetched story, some forced romance imo between the mains, overpromoted Jared Leto without giving him much screentime and all in all, it had some nice CGI and other special effects, still fun to watch, but I did preffer Batman:AoA better from certain points, which is not to say Suicide Squad was bad, it just had a different charm.

Hi stevencojo. You have the start of a decent review here. If you want to join the group, there's no problem mainly watching animated movies and/or series, as it adds variety to the reviews and opinions in the group. So if you'd like to review an animated movie you watched and enjoyed (or hated) and tell us a bit more about it, we can see where that takes us. Alternatively, you can perhaps expand a little on your Suicide Squad review. For example, how was the characters? Storyline? Why did you find the romance far-fetched? Was it a cohesive story or not? You don't have write an essay, just maybe a little more detail. Thanks for your interest.

of course I can expand since I watched it recently (my latest animated movie is The Secret Life of Pets). The characters were decent enough, I could say, Will Smith nailed his role and he got plenty of screentime, just like the Deadshot from the animated film, he felt like one of the main chars, Jared Leto was overhyped, his appeareance is like the No Man Sky of cinematography, conceptually he did quite good, really nice performance, felt like an unique Joker from what we saw so far, but...probably barely 10 minutes of screentime and barely any interactions...despite appearing on most of the promotional posters and in trailers. Harely did feel a tad bit sexualized, but not really something to be that bothersome. The cultural diversity in the cast was welcomed of course. The reason why I consider the romance between J&H was a bit forced, more like just to appease the fanbase for some odd reason, is because we already have one more main couple/romance already, making it a bit distracting for me, not as a bad thing ofc...and I do not think J&H was ever meant to be something romantic (in the comics/animated series/movies), it felt more like the sort of the abusive relationship, the sort of rs to which we shouldn't aspire to, and yet, the movie over-romanticizes it as a 'weird' and 'misunderstood' type of love, which in certain regards, that might be the case...and yet, it feels off, sure, we might see it as a different view of things, I guess we just need to adjust our perceptions for that. Overall it did not feel that cohesive...felt like it had plenty of loopholes, at least I left the cinema with plenty of questions about the validity of some events there. But, overall, it was an action movie, the effects were quite nice, acting decent and pace fast, so it met certain standards, that is why I feel quite pleased I saw it.

Am I interested in joining?
I'm not looking to review steam games, nor make giveaways, but I'm very interested in chatting about tv shows and movies (of course I'll give my opinion on videos if I like them or not, and participate in other stuff regarding movies/tv).
If this is enough, sure, I'll enter the group.

About Rick and Morty http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2861424/
It is a sci-fi comedy animated tv series airing in USA in English.
There are many unique things to the series that I've not encountered in any other show to date.
Many of the episodes have wow, or cool, or did they just do that, etc. situations.
I get excited watching new episodes of this show, and very very few shows does that for me.

It is writen well and seems mature enough that it doesn't need 'fan service' or 'excessive cursing' other shows use to cover poor writing.

The voice actors fit their role well.

And the sci-fi elements in it, are plentiful. (many of which are unique)

In comparisions to other sci-fi shows, or comedys, or even animated shows, it stands by itself, atop nearly all other shows in said gerne or combination of.

I found very few people that did not actually like the show.

Unfortunately there is a monthly giveaway requirement. We review movies with our monthly giveaways, so you don't have to ever review a game. We also have events, like movie evenings. Great write-up on Rick and Morty, by the way. I like the fact that every episode is different and there's rarely a bad episode. I can rewatch episodes which is very rare. If you're interested in trying the group, let me know.

The Wrestler (2008)

What is the secret of a good movie? For some, it lies in the incredible special effects for someone in-jokes that make sliding slowly under the table in a fit of uncontrollable laughter. All depends on the individual preferences of what he wants to see on the screen.

It is impossible to instill a staunch admirer of the American comedies of love to the complex and subtle art-house. This fact does not mean narrow-mindedness or a handicap person. The fact is that the American Pie fans do not want a lot of thinking about what is happening on the screen, do not want to analyze the action - they are watching a movie just for entertainment. On the contrary, the opposite type of people whose brains burnt through the author's cinema, is unlikely to get pleasure from the usual Hollywood pop.

But there are films for which all the fans love and appreciate Hollywood. This simple, unpretentious life stories of ordinary (and sometimes not) people, the stories told in a measured rhythm, language understandable to all. "The Wrestler" is such a film.

I will not go into too much details of the plot, so as not to spoil the impression of the film to those who have not yet seen. However, the basic details have to touch. The plot is simple: the main character of the film is a Randy "Ram" Robinson - a famous wrestler in the past, but now terribly lonely middle-aged man, the only pleasures which are only memories of past glories. He did not mumbler and every minute is not dreaming visions of the past, but Darren Aronofsky's directorial genius emphasizes its nastalgiya in every detail: the game of wrestling in the antiquated console for myself, plastikvaya figure outstanding wrestler - again, himself sample 80s. He's really attached to these things.

However, at first glance it seems that Randy did not suffer from such loneliness and not discouraged: he lights with a friend in a stripper bar, wrestling resumes classes. His name has not forgotten how young athletes, and fighters of his best times are Baran with great respect; he is still the idol of boys in the neighborhood. Generally speaking, all considered him "a guy that is necessary." Wrestlers in the film shows the empathetic, caring and completely positive people, real professionals. On stage they do show, sparing neither himself nor opponents, but in the locker room are one big happy team.

The only problem is that all the surrounding Robinson people perceive it only as an athlete. What he is like as a father? as a husband? but just what kind of person he? if he did something for my whole life right? At the beginning of the film, we do not give an answer to all these questions. They then rise. Randy is no longer young, and any injury could end his career, this time for good. To whom it may go, disaster struck? Does anyone take it? Is it easy to close the old grudges? It raises a lot of questions, but the answers are given only small portions of the viewer, thus giving time to consider how to incoming information.

The film is pretty tough: there is enough of bloody battles, there is striptease, sex and other pleasures of life. Very nervous to view is not recommended.

Perhaps this is not the most powerful work of director Aronofsky and not the best role Rourke. But Darren this film - a new page in his career, such dramas he still did not take off; for Mickey same - a revival from the ashes. Despite all the disadvantages (mostly think the camera work), "The Wrestler" really catchy. After viewing it is impossible to remain indifferent ...

Plot: 8
Atmosphere: 9
Acting: 10
The quality of the casting: 9
Directing: 7
Camera work: 6
Soundtrack: 9
Total: 9 out of 10

The movie i enjoyed the most this year was Snowpiercer, in the sense that it was the one of the movies in the last year that i wished was 1 hour longer so i can see more of the train. I feel like the main story of the movie isn't the revolution or the people in the train, but the train itself and it amazing spectacle.

Hi! I was part of the group in the past but for personal problems needed to leave. I would love to be able to return if possible. my suggestions were generally directed toward brazilian films.

Bingo tells the story inspired by the real life of Arlindo Barreto, an actor who played the Bozo clown, who was successful in the 80's. For rights issues, Bozo became Bingo. Bozo's story was interesting in itself. The very premise of telling the life of someone who is at the same time the most famous person in the country and a complete anonymous is extraordinary. However, it would take the courage to portray that absurd reality radically, without compromise. And this is the main merit of the film.

Hey mate, I remember you of course :)
I think you're still in my friend list and we've chatted a few times.

As for the group, it's currently inactive and has been for a long while for various reasons.
There's a discussion going on behind the scenes with one of the former officers to re-launch the group.
If/when it happens - you and everyone in the group will know about it and we'll start recruiting people again.

Thanks for interest in the group and being a member in the past! :D
