Okay. Here is my review for entry. It may not be a super in-depth review, but I hope it does well enough. I've decided to do a review of the first episode of the television series called Fringe. It lasted 5 seasons in total, and originally aired on Fox.
The premise behind Fringe is a group of people that investigate 'Fringe' events, events that have no logical explanation and happen in mysterious ways. The very first episode hammers this home quite effectively. The teaser act begins in an airplane, flying high in the clouds. A man looks to be quite nervous, and seems to be ill. He injects himself with a syringe (similar to what a person that is allergic to bee stings takes so they don't go into anaphalactic shock), and soon after people start screaming in horror and pain! Their skin starts to slough from their bodies, and it seems to affect the pilots as well.
Thus begins the first Fringe event.
The main characters are FBI Agent Olivia Dunham, an eccentric scientist named Doctor Walter Bishop, his estranged son Peter Bishop, and Astrid Farnsworth (who helps Walter, as he's been away from society for many years).
There are a lot of dark moments in this episode (horrifying deaths), as well as some moments of humour sprinkled into the mix. One ongoing bit of humour (which continues throughout the series) is Walter never getting Astrid's name correct. He also doesn't have a filter for his inner thoughts, so he tends to say things that could be considered rude or easily misconstrued. Most times, he just doesn't know better (he seems like a lost child sometimes, which adds to the charm of the character).
The characters Olivia and Peter are pretty skeptical of the whole idea behind Fringe events from the start, but slowly find out more and more information, both about what causes these Fringe events and what their place in them happens to be.
I realize this is probably not much of a review. I'm a little tired (worked nights), but I hope it will get at least one person interested enough in the show to give it a chance. I really do recommend Fringe. It is one of my favourite shows of all time.
The characters are not one-dimensional (particularly the character of Walter Bishop, John Noble is an excellent actor!), the writing is very good (especially as the seasons progress), there is an amazing amount of story to be discovered, and as mentioned above, there are moments of humour that are quite funny. There are also heart-breaking moments that occur, but I do not want to spoil them. Fans of the show will know of which episode I am speaking of specifically.
If anyone has any questions about Fringe, feel free to ask. I'd be happen to answer them.:)
(I hope I didn't bomb this!)

I can't wait to hear what you have to say about it. It (like pretty much any television series) is so much better being able to watch multiple episodes in a row, and no commercials interrupting it.:)

The series has been out on DVD for a while, so you should be able to find them pretty cheap (hopefully). I picked up a set for my friend's birthday a year ago, and they were about $10 each season. I hope you have some good luck with finding them nice and cheap.:)

I know that my profile does not meet requirements so I won't be trying to join, at least for now :)
However for all Movies and TV series lovers (back in his days Sir David Lean tried to warn about TV - 1990 AFI award speech) I have one recommendation. It is an European film (doh, subtitles), but who likes cinema, make sure to check "The Lives of Others (2006)"; original title: "Das Leben der Anderen" (no, Im not from Germany!)
Film budget is only $2M, directors first movie, it is full of real human touches with very realistic environment/atmosphere (even now, some smaller cities in Eastern Europe looks very similar). So do not wait for Hollywood reboot, check (even with subtitles) this awesome movie now!
P.S. Its not a review. Maybe someone weren't aware about this little gem.
P.S.S. If you do not believe me that $2M can produce an excellent movie, check IMDB score :)

Hi Naitas. Good review and certainly an interesting movie you brought to our attention. To be considered for the group, you need to be level 3 (as you stated yourself), but we'd also like to see a bit more activity from you in the site. Our plans for the group will need pretty active users. But I can see that you've been upping your participation and giveaways in the last month, so keep up the good work.

I understand. I was just trying to tell you what would make your application more attractive to our group (and most other groups for that matter) when you do decide to join. Anyway, we still have quite a few spots available, so if you fancy, bookmark this thread and try in a few months. If you keep going the way you are now, I'm sure you'll be an easy pick. Thanks for your response.

Unstoppable is a modern rendition of a classic story: The Little Engine That Could. It features An EMD SD40-2 who plays 777 (The Little Engine) as the main protagonist. Denzel Washington and Chris Pine play the antagonists. The Little Engine happily leaves the Fenton Train Yard, planning on delivering presents to the people of Stanton, Pennsylvania. The villains, Frank Barnes (Washington) and Will Colson (Pine) hate trains and decide that they must do everything in their power to stop the humble little engine from accomplishing his mission. This modern rendition of an old classic features several suspenseful moments that are sure to keep you at the edge of your seats. Its easily one of the best suspense movies of 2010 and perhaps the best train movie that has been made thus far. If you are a fan of movies featuring trains in strong roles, this is a must see flick. Will 777 be able to deliver his happy presents to the good people of Stanton? Will the train terrorists succeed in stopping him? What will their anti-train rituals do to 777's feelings?
Parental Advisory: There is heavy man-on-train violence and a lot of general brutality against trains in this movie, I would not recommend it for audiences under 16.
