I still don't think it's worth it for me, because it's still much cheaper to just individually buy the stuff I want from others' leftovers.

They finally got me. It's $99 for 24 relatively good unlocks and another 48+ normally unbundled games. That's unbelievable value.
Comment has been collapsed.
I thought you got 1 month free with 12 month plans?
[edit] nvm I'm just tired. Its equivalent 1 month free because of the discount vs monthly. đ°
Comment has been collapsed.
Normally it's $132 which is 1 month free. Now it's almost 4 months free on this deal or $8.25 per month.

Nope. I was subscribed month-to-month and happy with the majority of bundles, so I jumped on the 12 month plan with $25 in Humble credit. Since then I've paused all but 3 months and haven't regretted pausing once. The bundles lately have been garbage and I'm beginning to wonder how much longer Humble Monthly is going to last and if I'll get a refund of my un-used months if/when that happens.
Comment has been collapsed.
Because when I bought it, I didn't yet have more than 20 months banked :) When you scroll to the bottom, you've got the 99$ figure on the right with the golden tick, but the left shows the full price. Need to choose that one, despite the incorrect price, the price will be updated on the order before you enter payment info.

So not sure if something changed but I was able to purchase an additional year despite being auto-declined before.
All I did differently was "Pay with Credit Card" rather than Paypal and it went right through. I'm now sitting at 24 months remaining.

Yep, you're right. The wording appears to have been changed to "do not currently have more than 12 Monthly credits on their account.".
Instead of: "do not currently have more than 20 Monthly credits on their account." which appeared to indicate that people with 20 or less could still purchase it which is what I did. It still allowed me to purchase it, paypal refund was actioned instantly but have to wait about 10 days for the refund to clear...
So according to the new wording, 24 months might now be the maximum cap.

On one hand, it's very tempting but I prefer not paying upfront and hoping for the best. Even if I pay more afterwards, at least I can decide not to buy any, to buy them all, or to select only what I'm interested in, depending on the unlocks.
On the other hand, it's interesting that most of the offers float around the $8 mark, meaning at $8 they still make a profit and the providers are happy to participate, otherwise they wouldn't give this price to everyone and their grandma. This makes sense if the subscribers' list is so big that even if the devs receive fractions of a regular discounted sale, the cumulative total is well worth being a part of the bundle.

Yeah, I can't even afford a $5 game. Who exactly is this aimed at?
Comment has been collapsed.
It's a smart move, this. I was going to let my yearly sub lapse this spring, but this is enough of a discount to keep me in the ranks for another year.
Comment has been collapsed.
You actually pay 12$ more doing that way. Also not buying this offer, You are even paying 45$ more. 99$ vs 144$. It's Your money, but for me it's stupid. Cause You can skip months as many times as You want.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's assuming you actually use 12 months of subscription. Since HB is doing this monthly bundle thing, I only have bought 2 months. That's âŹ18 compared to âŹ80 for the current offer of buying a year and risking not liking most of the months...
Comment has been collapsed.
You get awesome games. You get card that gives You money. You can sell games back. Sometimes even for more than You bought it. I don't see any single reason to not buy Humble Monthly.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm just a poor boy. And I buy what's best. And Humble Monthly is very profiting. That's just a fact. People EARN money, BUYING the bundle. I earn games instead.
Comment has been collapsed.
Working one hour gives me nothing, that I could throw it to the mud, while this would give me like 20 times more? But I don't resell games.

Well, If You call Dar Souls 3 or Hollow Knight bad games... I have nothing to say.
Comment has been collapsed.
So what games do you expect to be there to make in monthly good?
Comment has been collapsed.
So You have bad taste for games. Come on. Those games are masterpieces. For lore, gameplay, artism and many things. Gameplay can be tough, and not many people have to like it, but games are just at least formidable.
Comment has been collapsed.
the ones masterpiece is the others garbage. only because YOU deem something a masterpiece, doesnt mean everyone else needs to see it that way. so no, this games are garbage and done. if you see it otherwise nice for you, but dont think i need to agree. and love your junk.
Comment has been collapsed.
Believe me. It's not only me, who think that way. Also, would You call, I dunno Hamlet that this is so stupid, because You don't like it and only because someone told You it's masterpiece it doesn't mean it is? Cause Your arguments are pretty dull. Those games are objectively brilliant. No matter if You don't want to admit it. Cause they have values, no many games ever care about. Period.
Comment has been collapsed.
i dont give a fuck what you or other think on something. and if we go by the amount of views you would need to call a csgo, call of duty or any other generic games selling in the millions a masterpiece. your hollow knight is niche at best. simple difference between us is you think your opinion / views = the truth / reality. while im not dumb enough as to think that others have to share my taste, opinion.
i simply said that with lowering the price further you can only await that the already decreasing overall value of the monthlies will only decrease further.
edit: looked up the sale numbers, okay its not niche, but still avg at best.

i dont give a fuck what you or other think on something. hmm... kind of ironic, don't you think? this is a forum where people express their opinion on certain topics with the abilty to reply to others. i recommend you to not use the forums if you don't give a fuck. no reason for being rude here.
Comment has been collapsed.
the difference is, i dont put my opinion above others, especially in things you cannot measure because they simply rely on taste. you didnt saw me telling him his taste is bad, simple becaude he sees something different. start to get rude to me and you will get the same back at you. its as simple as that.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not about taste. It's something more, that You refuse to see. If You can't value what You don't like or criticize what You like, it's You who are the problem. I can easily criticize things I like very much and appreciate what I don't. But You don't understand the value of objectiveness. And those games are good, no matter if I like them or not. They are good, because they are good, not because I like the gameplay. I also don't play Metal Gear Solid games, but this series is undoubtly the best we ever had. The genius of those games are beyond the games itself. I don't play them, but I know how good they are.
Also You are raging now? You are sure that You don't give the fuck? Cause If You really wouldn't, You would just ignore what i said, instead of being mad.
Also... what value do You mean? I hope not in dollars. They are not a determinants of value. Many games has proven that cheaper games can be thousand of millions times better than those expensive. AAA games are made mainly for sheeple, that are mediocre in what they want, like, are etc. Not all, though. But for example Dragon Ball games are especially games for fanboys. Because DBZ fanbase is so stupid that they are fanboys of it. As I am the fan myself, I just find those games (or rather prices) a scam. Cause we get little game with no much content for ridiculous price. But fanboys are still buying it, cause they thing they prove they are fans when doing that. Watching, playing, thinking everything about Dragon Ball. Even if this is bad.
But nevermind, I don;t say they are bad games. But the policy of the makers are like that.

I still have 6 months payed for, so I'll skip probably.
Comment has been collapsed.
I had 5 more months left out of my annual plan, but it's the best discount they did for Monthly so far, so now I have 17 months left. Hopefully it's a long enough period of time to get the same deal again or even better one before my current subscription expires :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah that is what made me sub for three months and since lately haven't been liking the early unlocks that much there were a few I liked but other then that. I am tempted to do this deal since I is a pretty good deal and then I could always skip the months if the early unlocks are not something I would like.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well that explains why I couldn't buy another sub (I bought 1 month literally 1h before they activated the promo so now I have 13 months and I can't buy another yearly sub). :-( I still ponder on whether or not buy a gift sub and try to redeem it later.
Comment has been collapsed.
Have you activated your next month yet (with Just Cause 3 XXL, Wizard of Legend, and Project Cars 2)? If not, and you have 13 months credit at the moment (i.e. your subscription ends in January 2020), you can activate the next month now and then you'll only have 12 months credit. :)

This is so unreal it's just funny.
I cancelled my Humble sub as soon as my yearly (that I took just before the IGN announcement and before all the 20$+ bribes) was up, and as one of the reasons I gave "too many mess-ups". Seems there's not an end in sight ... emails with errors, promotions with errors, free games that weren't supposed to be free, more emails with errors ...
Comment has been collapsed.
Hmm. I can see where you're coming from, but I guess I look at it a bit differently.
The examples you provide are exactly what you say: "mess ups". They're mistakes. Everyone makes them, and Humble have generally been pretty good about admitting to them being mistakes. You could argue that they could have handled them better, but I don't see them as having done anything wrong in these situations. They just made a mistake.
I find a few other things they've done more concerning: including big-name non-Steam games as headliners once, then claiming that was a one off, and then doing it again (Destiny / Overwatch). That's not really acceptable in a product that they've always claimed would have Steam keys. And similarly with the Hotline Miami 2 fiasco for Australians: yes, we received the game, but not a Steam key. And unlike other region-specific considerations, we didn't get anything else offered in compensation. (This may have even been against Australian law, since they did sell us the game in a DRM-free form, but I don't know enough about the law to be sure. It certainly seemed a bit "iffy" anyway.)
These actions seem much more deliberate and "wrong" than the mistakes. But even taking them into account, it's still been a great deal so far for me, even without this offer and all of the other great offers they've been bandying about to new subscribers lately.
My main problem with the Humble Monthly is that I know that pretty much anything I buy of value on Steam will end up in it eventually, unless I then decide not to buy it -- in which case it won't. Aaaargh! But that's the same with all good bundles these days. :)

I don't disagree there, except they didn't just make "a mistake", or two or three, it's more like one every 3 weeks for the past year.
I find a few other things they've done more concerning:
I listed all those in my reasons for cancelling as well (I would have summed those up too under "mess-ups", and like you said, those are not just mistakes.)
As well as refusing me support because I traded away my Overwatch key, and thus I am now forever branded a key reseller.
And yes, FOMO is hard. In a way I'm glad that Humble messed it up so badly for me, because I can't really afford the Monthly easily, and it's the much saner choice not to buy it (or any other blind bundles). But all those wishlisted games (that I never have time to play anyway)!
Been the same for me, whatever I buy, ends up bundled, whatever bundle or great deal I skip, will never be bundled or cheap again ;) And whatever I buy in an expensive bundle or the Monthly, will be Humble T1 three months later :P
