Which computer is best?
Why not buy a used desktop? Try to find something that has an intel i5-2400 or i5-2500 (or a newer i5) and a graphics card that is listed higher than gtx 750 Ti on this site http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html
Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Optiplex-790-intel-core-i5-2500-4-gig-memory-250-HDD-W-MSI-GTX-1050-WIND-10-/272626628733?hash=item3f79d0387d:g:ozYAAOSwhQhY39zp
Very capable pooter for its price

The last one (n° 6) might be able to run some stuff, but generally stay away from integrated graphic cards.
A laptop might not be a good choice because you would spend a lot of money for a non-upgradable item, you could buy a basic desktop PC and upgrade it when possible, i.e. start with something like this and add a RX470 as soon as possible.
Stuff I linked is just the first decent thing I've seen on ebay, if you look better there should be a lot of better options.

I don't think the price is too odd, especially considering that it's an auction. The others on eBay are of similar prices, like this one. Actually, the one I linked to is probably a little better for gaming, since it has a quad core and dedicated graphics, albeit with less RAM and storage. That said, the K610M, I think, is like a GT 720m, so it's not very good for gaming, anyway, just better than the Intel HD 4600 systems.

like consoles, laptop 'gaming' is just another form of peasantry.
i'd prefer used desktop hardware any day of the week.

I think I'd go with 1, 2, or 3.
Relatively new and a decent all-rounder. The CPU isn't too strong, it's comparable to a ULV i3, but it has a healthy amount of RAM, and lots of storage. Haven't heard much bad about that generation on the Inspiron. If you're not expecting screaming performance, it's good. It also supposedly has a warranty for a few more months.
If it wasn't for the age, I'd get one of these. The T530 is a well built and reliable machine. But, because of the age, performance isn't great.
Most powerful CPU, GPU is comparable to 1 and 2, and the most RAM. It's about a year older than #1, but more powerful. One of the problems with age is the battery life. There's a higher chance that the battery is due for replacement on an older laptop than a newer one. But, if you'll be near a plug most of the time, you should be fine.
So, ultimately, that would narrow it down to #1 and #3. If you trust the seller, I'd go for #3, but if you want to play it safe (newer system with warranty left), go with #1. If it was me making the purchase, and I had to pick one of these, I would go for #3. Just note, it looks like you may need a new copy of Windows.

Thank you this is very helpful! I think I'll get number 3 then. I won't be able to replace windows for a while so hopefully that doesn't give me an issue. Batteries aren't too expensive so I can replace that.
It's a tough choice, Thanks again, I'll get back to you with the surprise soon!

ZOMG name change! When did that happen?!
I personally like Dells whether laptop or desktop (or even servers). I have never had a hardware failure on a Dell in 15-plus years. So I'd go for the Dell 17.3.

I changed it yesterday because people (understandably) are mistaking me for a guy. I decided to change it to my full first name and the first initial of my last name, but I just realized that people are probably going to try to sound the whole thing out haha
Thanks for your help and I'll get back to you with that surprise I promised soon :P

Oh, I just figured your first name is Stephanig. :P
If the surprise is a game, I'll probably decline it. If it's something else, then, well, I guess it depends on what it is. :)

Desktop > Laptop like the rest of above said because it's easy to upgrade. I bought used parts to build a sweet rig, still costed me less. Currently running i7-4790k at 4.6GHz, plan to delid to OC further.
Which laptop from the list is my favorite? None. If you travel a lot and can't bring desktop with you then I can recommend a gaming laptop from Sager.

I would get a gaming laptop but I don't have the budget right now. My computer just broke (I'm borrowing a friends) so thats the reason I'm trying to get a laptop for the low budget of $300 or less. I'll most likely get one of the ones above and then save up for a gaming laptop or desktop.
Suggestions are always welcome for the future though :)
