In the Steam settings you can make it scale text and icons according to your Windows settings.

2-start steam on big picture
3-show the steam directions when it's posible
4-something about activate render GPU in web views
5-active directwrite for a better performance

Are you using some outdated version of Steam?
Afaik that's the only explanation why there might be some setting options missing for you, as there is no "expert mode" to unlock more options.

Edit: Maybe try switching to English as your interface language.

I can see your picture. Weird. Try changing language to English and see if it appears. I don't think it will but won't hurt to try.

This is certainly weird. Maybe try reinstalling steam? Or as a last resort, try editing the config file manually.

Just like you, I have an empty space where that option should be. My only suggestion would be to to try changing the DPI scaling in your display settings, then restart and the option might possibly appear. I'm basing that guess on the fact that the setting describes matching the monitor setting, so you may need to have a non-standard DPI setting for it to appear, but I can't restart to test it right now.

I don't have that setting either. I am using Windows 7, maybe it is a feature that only works with Windows 10. Or maybe it only shows up if you have Windows scaling set to something other than 100%.

You can always try big picture mode. Click on the grey icon near the top right that has the two arrows in it pointing at the corners.
(To exit big picture later, click on the power icon next to the clock at the top right, and you can exit steam, exit big picture mode, etc.)

I just meant the fonts seem to be larger using big picture mode and might be large enough for you that way.

I don't have a font setting option in either the regular app or big picture.

You may have another option to try - close steam, find the steam exe file in explorer, right click it and go to the compatibility tab. There should be an option there about display scaling on high DPI settings - if it's checked try unchecking it and press OK all the way down and then see if that makes a difference.

As for the missing option I guess by your screenshot that you're using windows 7 which might be the reason it's not there - for high DPI and 4K displays 7 is unfortunately way less competent than 10, so an upgrade is probably in your best interest.

I don't have that option to scale text either (using Win 7 also). I think your only option might be to find and download a custom skin that looks acceptable to you. Or you could try customizing the default skin yourself. That's what I did. I didn't care for any new design or colors I only wanted to enlarge the font sizes.

Here's a comparison of my UI

It's not exactly fast or simple. You have to go into the skin files and change the settings you want but Steam doesn't really tell you which font is for what menu so a lot of it is trial and error. I've managed to find out the settings for most of the menus though.

I could send you my custom skin and then you can see how you like it but I'm on 1080p and you're on 2k so it will still have to be adjusted probably. I guess you could tell me what menus you want bigger and I could do it as long as you're not too picky about it.

Hey, I know this a year old post, but can you send me your customer skin ? I also tried manually changing the fonts and it worked for some time until Steam decided to change something and it broke my skin. I'm on a 2715 x 1527 resolution with fonts at 150% and it still doesn't work - the default steam skin is giving me small text in most screens

I don't have the skin anymore I upgraded to Windows 10 over a year ago. I thought I saved a copy of it but I can't seem to find it or I deleted it, along with all the notes of what to change in the files :/

You can try downloading one of those official custom skins like Metro or Air and see if it makes it look better. Sorry about that.
