It has higher requirements. Just like L4D2 has higher requirements than CS:S. The engine is a bit improved in terms of graphics.

Yes, it does.

Yes I also can say it's higher than CS:S, it's par to L4D2 spec but with more improved graphics.

It's not on par with L4D2. I run L4D2 fine. My more than 150 hours on it confirm it. But I can just run CS:GO at 10-12 fps in an empty server, and in a server with 6 people it was like 0.3 fps (1 frame every 3 seconds).
CS:GO has dynamic shadows with casting. This takes a lot of power to render.

I think that dual core at 2.0ghz with 512mb of vram and 4gb ram is enough

If those are your specs, upgrade the processor.

Are you kidding me? :S CS:S works like a charm on my old 6-7 years old Pentium IV 1.6 ghz, 512 mb RAM, Geforece 5200fx 128 MB VRAM.

I play CS GO BETA on C2Q Q9400 with 4gb Ram ddr2 , gt430 1 gb ddr3 and i get maximum 100 fps at high settings and
same specs if i play CS:S fps goes to almost 250-300 average on different maps without using any fps cfg

CS:GO's system requirements are going to be much higher than a game that was released almost eight years ago. The minimum amount of RAM for CS:S is 512MB of RAM. These days, 512MB isn't even enough to install and run Windows 7.

objection....I had win7[32-bit] with 512MB of ram and it run good

Well, okay, it's doable, but you could technically install Windows 95 on a 386 with 4MB of RAM, it just took 30 minutes to boot up.

Same here and it did work pretty good tbh.

Yet I don't think 512/1024 is gonna be enough to play it decent. Lighting changed and is way more intensive (or atleast i read something'ish).

Well if I'm not mistaken they are both source so I doubt the requirements would be to much higher

The original HL2 was on source engine too, and was released on 2004. But it only needed a 1.5GHz 1 core cpu and a 128MB graphic card. CS:GO just can't even start with these specs.
The fact they don't add crappy number versions like others do (CryEngine 3, Frosbite 2, Unreal Engine 4) doesn't mean it's been the same for 8 years. If you look closely at the version number it was like 3000 and now it's 8000. 5000 versions of the engine are not just comments in the code.

Yes but that is such a crappy pc, which i wouldnt be surprised if the real problem was a lack of RAM, that any small change to engine could mean alot. For most people, the change should be almost unnoticeable.

" i read somewhere the GO is only on better source engine"
engine isnt better if you can run the game with same quality and performance on same HW as the 8 years old game... so yep if its better version of source engine IT MUST HAVE higher rq.
