What's the worst game title names you've seen?

I remember seeing an advert on TV for some shitty game once. The name of the game was literally "Good Game" That's real reassuring.. not!

D

Imagine how hard it was to find any information about this game back before smart search engines like Google. Apparently it may be headed to Steam as the company that published the PS1 game N2O: Nitrous Oxide bought the rights for it.

Don't Buy This: Five of the Worst Games Ever

Yes, that's a real thing.

For actually good games, I think "Probotector 2: Return of Evil Forces" is rather silly. The subtitle of that game (return of evil forces) just screams "no effort".

Of course it's a good game, that's your (censored) version of Super C(ontra)!

Yep, I know. Super C might also be considered a terrible name, but for different reasons (It's not exactly clear that it's a sequel to Contra).
And I would argue that this is one of the few cases when the censored version is better than the original. In terms of gameplay, they are identical, but Robots>Rambo clones.

It's a good game, but the title is horrendous: Spider-Man The Movie: The Game.

Some others:

  1. DMC: Devil May Cry - why a fucking acronym if you're gonna spell it anyway?
  2. Pixeljunk Shooter - just sounds dirty and disgusting
  3. GUN - lot of imagination must have went there
  4. Lichdom Battlemage - why call a game that if you're not actually a lich in it?
  5. Dead Effect - really???
  6. Borderlands The Pre-Sequel - not particularly funny or imaginative and beneath a series of games known primarily for its humor
  7. Medal of Honor Warfighter - wait...what? =))
  8. The Culling of the Cows - the fuck?

1) Yeaaah, another great one.

4) Well, lichdom can be taken to mean 'the path of the lich' or 'the descent towards maybe probably being a lich'.
Not all lich set out to become one from the start

I am not interested in Spiderman, but maybe... the universe in the movies was altered, and not the original one from the comics and they wanted to specify that it's inspired from the movies, not from the comics.

To add to your list, MDK (Murder Death Kill) - back in the day, the gameplay was cool tho. :)

MDK was a reference to the movie Demolition Man, though officially the name MDK does not stand for anything in the first game, and was later retconned to mean Max Doc Kurt.

Warfighter actually means something though, it's a soldier who's in combat.

The fact that the military uses this term, somehow actually makes it even worse :-p.

"Madballs in...Babo: Invasion"
Disregarding the awful punctuation slurry for a moment, I was actually born in the 80's and this game was the first I heard of these 'Madballs'. Good luck finding anyone who remembers them enough to make dropping "Madballs in..." sounds less than dumb.
\:3/

The game wasn't all that good, but it wasn't absolute bottom-tier garbage either.

Z and 10,000,000 (the devs of 10,000,000 even have a loading screen message that says "Don't name your game 10,000,000")

they aren't bad names perse, but they aren't the easiest to do searches on (depending where you are searching) ;-;
