Was it obvious? because "in Christmas" isn't the 21st. Id assume it will start a few days or a week before Christmas.

As if I wasn't broke enough, Steam, can I just pay you with my firstborn child instead?

Me too. Do you know, when the Thanksgiving Sale will start? I don't even know, at which date Thanksgiving will be, because in Europe we usually don't celebrate this. Nevertheless, the deals on steam are quite similar during this period, so I'm looking forward to it.

I just googled it. You're both right in either way: in Canada, Thanksgiving has been celebrated on October, 8. But in the United States, the same thing will be celebrated in the last week of november. Quite weird, isn't it? :)

I guess it has to do with when the natives decided to drop by and give the colonials something to eat and thank for :D

I don't know when exactly it will start (it'll start before Christmas but don't know when), all I do know is that I really hope Skyrim is on sale during it.

I wouldn't expect anything more than that either, but anything would be nice. And why do you say that the Steam version would be more expensive than the boxed version?

Because the prices of the boxed versions usually decrease quite fast compared to Steam's (because of competition, and stock management).
Moreover, the boxed version already costs less than the Steam version in the UK. That doesn't seem to be the case is the US though, at least on Amazon.

Ah, I get what you're saying. I was just confused because right now everywhere I look, the boxed version is the same price as Steam. As for prices going down, a game this big may not see a decrease as early as Christmas, but it's certainly possible.

Well in my country (Holland) retail price is € 36, steam price is €50.
I dont think its gonna be on the Christmas sale. Unless the sales doenst go that good, but i dont see it happen that fast.

Steam is usually pretty good with putting the big games on sale (unless they came out less than a month before the sale, then it gets tricky). I mean, Dead Island came out in September and it was part of the Halloween sale.

Man. I'm going to go broke. The Christmas sale and the Thanksgiving sale...ok, my rule for these sales 75% off or more.

Hmmm. I guess that's pretty good. I think I might have to settle for discounts >50%. 75% does seem kind of much for games that are cheaper price range like you said.

When does the Steam Christmas Sale usually start?
I'm thinking of buying a bunch of games (some for myself, some to giveaway) and I'd like to know how much time I have to save up.
