So when I bought one of the older humble bundles, I gave away 2 dlc worth 30$. Now, when I bought the Humble Jumbo Bundle, I gave away Garry's Mod, worth 10 dollars. I went to get something for contributors giving away things for 30.01$ but it says I only have contributed 30. I have messaged all the people who received their gifts and yet it still says I have only contributed 30$. Help please.

You can only get up to 30cv with bundled give-a--ways. you have to give-a-way a non bundled game to go over 30/

ps. expect a load of ass hole and useless comments...

Garry's Mod is considered a bundled game.

Also, protip for you: any game marked with * in the dropdown list of giveaway games is a bundled game and won't increase contrib. value if you make a GA for it.

.. You gave away 2 DLC items that you got for free, and a copy of one of the cheapest, most widespread games there is. Heck I could drum up 5 free copies of Garry's Mod if I wanted to.. Don't complain that you gave away $40 worth of games like you're a paragon of generosity that is entitled to more CV, for god's sake - you didn't even come close.

Also, nice wording when you try to say "I can't enter contributor giveaways above $30,00".. "I went to get something for contributors giving away things for 30.01$".

What a wonderful attitude. This isn't a shopping mall or supermarket for free games. And perhaps you'd consider actually wanting to give something away for the enjoyment of others, rather than seeing a giveaway merely as a way to dump freely acquired items for a reward.

Haha.. I gave away games I actually bought from Steam and still only have 30 CVs just because that they were bundled previously.
if you can look at my steam inventory, I also have extra copy of Sanctum from the 4 pack i bought, but apparently it was bundled also so if i do feel like giving it away, it will be for free again.
I'm in the middle of making two of my friends play borderlands 2 with me so I have that in my inventory that i might give away soon if those two decides to not play it with me over the winter break.
If you actually bought those games on Steam, and gifted it through Steam, it really sucks for you that 1. you paid full amount (or 75%off) for the game when some other ppl only paid like a dollar for. 2. If you gave it away on purpose to gain CV, you just wasted a hole bunch of money for nothing
but if you paid like a dollar for those games, I dont know what to say.

how do you even buy borderlands 2 for a dollar

You should have checked the bundle list before buying those games if you wanted to gain CV, that's your fault.

The other way around happens as well, buying a game and having it sit in your inventory, only to have it's value backstabbed by randomly appearing in the humble.
I got the SMB that I gave away through one of the Steam holiday activity things, luckily, because it was my first giveaway, it's value wasn't decreased in the slightest and since I got it for free I wouldn't mind if it had, but don't assume it's everyone's own fault when there's situations thinkable where they simply got screwed by the humblebundle.

Edit: I mean I know what you're saying, he should've read the FAQ (even though it took a while before I got the gist of it), but the system isn't perfect. I'm not saying there's a better way, but there's that.

To me, it would be better if bundle games gave a fraction like 5% of their value instead of having to unlock full value by giving non bundle games, but that's just my opinion. Saying this here usually just attract insults and unbanned trolling.

So let me see if I understand it correctly. Not only did you have humble WB bundle, but you won one of the games from it here on SG too?
