+1, albeit its different from the elder scrolls serie, its one of the best RPG out there ( and way better than skyrim )

Get it from GOG (it's shamefully cheap!), apply HD maps/ HiRes patch and HD Music patch and play in HD. It's great even today. Finished it 37 times. It's magical how characters react differently to your appearance depending on slightest changes in how you play, who you have with you, what's your background and so on.

Arcanum IS THE SH*T. Sorry, hardcore fan of that game. Isometric view, complex story, loads of quests, original characters, great character building system with literally dozens of spells (90 maybe in 16 spell trees), technological skill with craftable equipments (be it guns, armor, lightweight axe or elyxir of persuasion) and you can actually vitness the grief going on between Gill Bates and Appleby about who invented the steam machine first :D

if you can get your hands on it id suggest trying to find the game pirates of the caribbean. it was originally developed as sea dogs 2 by a russian company called akella. it later got funding from disney, so the name was changed and the black pearl was inserted into it. its not exactly a potc world game. its definitely not "new gen". its got its share of bugs and glitches. but co developed by bethesda and akella, the graphics are simple, but beautifully done, the gameplay is rather simple and intuitive, the story is rather cool if you get your head wrapped around it, but if not, its just a great pirate simulator. sail from island to island, buy things, sell things, contraband things. board ships, do quests, build a crew of officers, manage your ship, look for new equipment, fight through dungeons... if you cant tell by my little sales pitch it is basically my favourite game. i got it for the first time back in 2003 and have replayed it every couple of years, including a full run of it about a month ago. it is that good.
on that note the pirates of the carribean series are somewhat vast but arent that good. speaking form experience here. the best two are 2003 pirates of the caribbean game and the city of abandoned ships game. but the latter isnt as good. so. if you want a skyrim-like experience for an older computer, thats what you wanna go for.
also if you are into shooters you might wanna try total overdose and soldier of fortune 2: double helix. great gameplay, somewhat weird story in the first one, but they are just really really good games with low requirements.

First Person RPG for super low-end PC: Arx Fatalis. It's first game of Arcane Studios creators of Bioshock 2 and Dishonored. I can recommend it, its one of my favourite RPGs :-).

Torchlight and Torchlight II, albeit different from Skyrim, they both are open world RPGs that are pretty addictive, though torchlight is a roguelike aswell.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Fable
Not exactly the same, more linear but still good and should run ok...

I love how person after person always (and in duplicate) suggests Elder Scrolls/Fallout/KOTOR over and over and over :> Any RPG fan worth their salt has played them all already :> I'll try to help, but as far as "like Skyrim" goes, you're mostly dealing with rip-offs like Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (which, in my opinion, offer nothing more than Skyrim/Morrowind, besides more bright fantasy artwork and a hack-n-slash third person combat system, and both suffer from very poor equipment systems, though Amalur's is more varied than Elder Scrolls).. Basically this post will be more for games I think are "can't miss!" and have decent content/replay value, instead of Skyrim-likes..
For Diablo-likes theres Torchlight 1/2, Sacred 1/2, Divine Divinity, Titan Quest, Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (highly recommended) then another set that includes Fallout 1/2, Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Neverwinter Nights, Temple of Elemental Evil.. Its a shame that Champions of Norrath or Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance never got PC versions :|
My favorite games of all time are probably the Monster Hunter series, though its a disgusting shame they sold out to Nintendo (and never offered anything local on PC besides subscription crap) and totally abandoned their Playstation roots :| Don't know if they thought I'd buy a console I despise just because Monster Hunter is there, but.. they're.. wrong.. :P
You could try some "roguelikes", my favorites being Elona and Tales of Maj'Eyal and CataclysmDDA (DoomRL is shiny, too..). Could look into ProspectorRL, or its somewhat more shiny variant (on Steam..) called Approaching Infinity.. For digging and commanding an army such you could check out Dungeon Keeper 2, Dwarf Fortress, Gnomoria.. maybe King's Bounty: The Legend (no true digging there though..). Heroes of Might and Magic is fun also.. Deus Ex and Thief..
Maybe you could run Demon's Souls? I've always wanted to play Path of Exile for that crazy skill tree, but its graphically above my integrated GMA 4500M HD crapcard :> You could look into Shadowrun Returns.. Rimworld, Prison Architect, and Banished for curious colony builders.. Don't Starve and Binding of Isaac for unique funk..
(I typed this four hours ago and just now got net back, so it may be a little outdated, and sorry for not keeping it purely "Skyrim-likes", haha..)

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is more like Fable then Skyrim really.

Play more Morrwind you only have 1.5 hours in it. Without any graphical mods, it runs on low end PC's no problem. Also, you can try the first 2 Elder Scrolls games which are free.

Divinity 2 for sure. And since someone else reccomended the KOTOR games, I'm gonna say Mass Effect, at least the first one.

Hello. I've really enjoyed Skyrim but now I want to play some other game like this. Problem is that I have really low-end PC. I have bout 15-18 FPS in Skyrim and it is fine for me. Is there any game like this? Thanks for your time,
~Carl :)
