Neg reviews are from the people that paid 40$ of the game, which I agree is not worth it. There isn't much story, but the gameplay is fantastic.

I'd advise for anyone to take a look at that and consider a balanced view of the game - but after some discussion my friend got the game in this bundle and still doesn't think it was worth the effort.

Money aside, I did not care for it. SO if you want to be like "I got it for a dollar!" Then by all means. But for me I would have sold my copy for a dollar long ago.

I agree with your friend. It's a pretty game, and the idea is a good one, but it just wasn't all that much fun for me. The entire game for me was "cast a spell and run - repeat until enemy is dead".
I made it through a couple hours (3 or 4 I think) before uninstalling. (I had also picked it up in a previous bundle).

For me the game felled like a slow corridor shooter. "You kill an enemy in 1st level with 4 fireballs? Dont worry, you will still need 4 fireballs to kill an enemy in level 5!! Thats the sound of progress!" The only thing that seemed to change is for how long I can keep enemies frozen for easy crits..
Also you pretty much see everything that the game got to offer in first 1-2 hours so you saved yourself some time.

It's an ok game. My issue with it is that the "rules" are explained very well. You have a lot of flexibility in making spells - but what does everything mean? Damned if I know.
