What do you think of the sales?
don't cry, many titles have a discount. Any many gems! I don't need the flash sales, because it's many titles on sale and if not, wait for bundles or other sites sales!
And if you want cheap games on sale buy it on jan - 4

Apparently not having absolutely mind-blowing flash-sale discounts is now the same as being 'officially dead'.
I'll just file this next to the "humble is dead", "WoW is dead", "CSGO is dead", "bundles are dead", and all the other doomsaying overreactions caused by small inconveniences and less-than-utterly-amazing events. :P

Well I don't know what everyone else is seeing but each day it seems they are having a new package deal - I bought the divinity set on day 1, skipped day 2 as it was all Warhammer that I already own, day 3 seems to be XCom - which I bought as some of them are on my wishlist - I think we may have to wait and see.

I didn't wanted to create a topic for this.
Is Heroes of Might And Magic® V Pack in sale somewhere else than steam?
I've seen a lot of people giving away several copies of it. And I don't think the price on sale justifies the influx.

Guys. Guys, hey listen.
Its less about valve then about the publishers. They heard 'that many days long deal' and didn't want to put their games with deeper discounts. I guess that many of the publisher's suits think that making the deep sale for the whole holiday would somehow make then lose money, like if people didn't waited for flash sales, or if the many that bought on flash deals would ever buy their games for more.
Id say that a couple more sales like this in the future and prices will get lower. Publishers will compare numbers and figure out their mess

Without the flash and daily sales it looks like many of our worst fears have been realized. I log on and what do I find....most of the games I want are barely even discounted. Seriously a 10% discount on one of them??! Come on Valve! Steam sales are officially dead to me now.
Would also like to add a few thoughts I've been having on the subject for a while now. The daily/flash/community deals all ended because the refund policy would have created a huge refund mess. For some this was a good enough excuse to end the deals outright. But I've been thinking there were plenty of solutions that could have been implemented to keep those deals. For instance wouldn't it have been good enough to post alert notices under the games in your cart that are being considered for daily/community deals. Sure you'd lose the big element of surprise but if it's worth you'd at least still have the deals. The notice would state that buying the game anyway right now would void you of a refund or at least until after the daily/community deal had ended to stop refund influxes.
And on the people who claim the new system is great because they missed so many daily deals before because they were away. I just want to say that argument amounts too "Wow I missed that deep sale I'm just glad nobody can have them now if I can't." While I can understand the pain of missing a deep discount it's no reason to justify the current situation that affects everybody because of your current situation. But that's just how I see it's nothing concrete or against anybody.
Edit: Although it was badly worded I admit the option -"something mumbojumbo" also includes "The sale looks fine, "It's ok with me",... etc. I had actually forgotten to add the option when I first created the poll sorry about that.
Again let it be known 'Something mumbojumbo" = "The sale looks fine".
