Di you read my mind? I have been thinking about rules like this nowadays. My favorite one is the maximal limit of whitelists. To want more games and DLCs is really a serious crime. We cannot tolerate this!!!
Edit: you forgot to write that the games are $1 bundles and those who won't play it within a week will be punished.

Ofc I won't BUMP it, here I have the most upvoted, original comments from alienware:
Thanks!
Thanks.
nice
awesome
not bad
What would I do if I found the suit-guy walking in the street? Well nothing.. Most of the people are like the suit-guy, maybe without the suit. I'd love to see what would happen if those were $100 bills instead of the bundled $1 ones :D

Wow I'm actually not much into those "social experiments with hidden cam" videos, but that one's pretty decent.
sg needs a button that gives all your 300 (or remaining) points to people with least games in their library. But then again there's people using multiple accounts and stuff. Oh well, in a world rules by capitalism, what to expect.
Reminds me of a quote about people who've once been in need, are the only ones that know how to share and appreciate it. Anyone knows it, can't remember the correct wording.

Sooo... If I only joined for Civ am I that dude that only took money for food? ^^ I always think comparisions like that are just like generalizing, it stinks (sorry :( no intention to offend you it's just what it brought me to mind :) )

This one auto-played after the one in your OP, Mully.
Thought you'd like this one as well.
The Real Blind Man Honesty Test (Social Experiment)

Lol, that one has been proven to be fake. You can just search the guy's name if you don't trust the source I found. That video really messed up the lives of the actors who weren't aware that it was going to be billed as a "real life" ""experiment"". Of course, the Youtuber doesn't take down the video and continues to rake in the profits
People are taking the video in the OP at face value as well. Did you know that people can go on the internet and tell lies? And that people can edit videos so that it tells the story that they want?

From the comments in this thread, it seems like users are taking it at face value. What is the point of the videos? To reinforce the notion that rich people are jerks?

I would argue that, rather then making a point, videos like the one in the OP are trying to push a narrative.
Specifically, we know that people are more easily affected by stuff like fake news when they confirm what someone already believes. And so the youtuber makes money by confirming the biases that his viewership may already have.
I don't know, but if feels dishonest. Legal, but dishonest nonetheless.
Is it true that some rich people are greedy? Yes. But personally I don't think that a fake "social experiment" is the best way to make people think.
Pushing a narrative means making people think what you want them to think, which is the opposite of opening people's minds and encourage them to think for themselves.

On the contrary, even though I am not well versed in Steamgifts drama and current stuff, I think I sort of get the comparison that Mullins is trying to draw.
I am not arguing against (or in favour, for that matter) of her point, my argument was strictly about the video itself and the cancerous trend of youtube "pranksters" doing "social experiments".
Since Mully in the OP also invited us to address the contents of the video, I figured my comment was not offtopic... π
And yes, I am inclined to believe that the video in the OP is scripted.
First of all, social experiments and pranks on youtube have a history of being fake, so that's a first red flag.
Moreover, the video itself feels very forced, with a clear intent to promote a particular narrative. Now, there's two possibilities: either the results were cherry-picked, or they are completely scripted and those people are paid actors.
The second method is more efficient in terms of time and money, and so I lean towards it being the most likely. Also the cringey and unrealistic dialogue increases the impression that there was a script.
Regardless of the results being real but cherry picked, or being completely scripted, the final conclusion doesn't change: if you alter the result of an experiment, it is not valid π
Therefore, the video itself to me has negative value, because in my opinion it pushes people towards being even more biased and close minded, as most "fake news" do.
I am not entering into the merit of Mully's message., because I I said in the beginning I am mostly unaware of the drama going on in Steamgifts...
I hope I clarified my point...

The point (edited for clarity: the point of Mully posting the video, not the video itself), regardless of the validity of the video, is that there are people like that in the world, and to invite people to ask themselves "which of those people are you?"
No drama.

I wouldn't give money to the homeless guy. Neither to the guy in the suit. Why? Because I rarely have any change on me. :P
If I had any, I'd give it to the homeless man, obviously.

Even when I do have change, I encounter another homeless person right after giving everything I had to someone else. ._.

IMO it's better to donate your time or money to homeless organizations because they can help change the reasons behind why someone is homeless (give them shelter, resume writing tips, job training, etc). Give a man a fish vs teach a man to fish
It also helps your conscience as you don't have to choose individuals to receive

i also wanted to share this video which reminded me A LOT of steamgifts users in general. π€¦
some questions were raised, like:
how much stuff do people take from others out of necessity vs greed?
what would you do if you found the suit-guy walking in the street?
is the majority of people like the first ones he crossed paths with, or he had "bad" luck encountering them all?
ok, enough feels. go leech something. πΈπΈπΈ
