I saw the post title and my heart sunk. News of people passing away never stops being absurd and surreal to me.
Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness in commenting on icaio’s profile and posting in the community, I enjoyed the story of you chatting on the phone in Italy. Sounds like icaio was a wholesome company and a lovely person, if that hadn’t already been clear from his presence in this community which so many of us, myself included, will surely miss.

well this is something no expect to find today, to tell the true no really know the guy but for what been reading since he was a nice person so all i can say is :
May the Valkyries welcome you. May they sing your name with love and fury, so that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla and know you've taken your rightful place at the table of kings. For a great man has fallen: A warrior. A chieftain. A father. A friend. Rest In Peace.

Thanks for letting us know. I haven't been on here long so I didn't get to know him that well, but the few interactions we did have he was always kind and funny. R.I.P you will be missed. I hope you know how much you were loved.

Damn. I thought it was strange that he went silent for a bit and didn't respond to my last message, as we would chat fairly frequently. Sad day.

iciao will definitely be missed. He's a big part of this community and I personally noticed his absence this past week and I'm not super active.
Here are a couple of giveaways in his memory -

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
