This news genuinely makes me sad. Icaio was easily one of the nicest and most generous people on this site, the kind of person you really wish there was more of in this world. He will be missed. :(

Omg I'm shocked. That's not the kind of things you expect to read here. This is sooo sad. Iocaio was such a sweet guy even tho he seemed to be struggling with something. He was truly a pillar of this community. We hadn't talked in a lil' while, heck I rarely log into Steam nowadays. Wow... I can't really believe he's gone now. Damnit. You will be missed, Iocaio. <3<3<3

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
