Steamworks integration for achievements and item trading and so on, access to chat and stuff while in game (via some equivalent of the overlay I'd imagine), potential to allow people who own the desktop versions of games to also install the Android versions

Well, I would like to have a library for my Adroid games.

If it would be an option not to show them to me - I do not mind. Just do not want search list or main screen to be spammed with this games.
Simply I do not interested in them (do not have a smartphone and do not use the a tablet though have one).

You are saying that like it would affect the PC side of Steam. It wouldnt. Many games on steam already have Android versions. Would be great to buy the PC version and get both versions. And it would bring a lot, and I mean a lot of profit to steam. You call it a "smaller market", but mobile games today make as much as PC games fo.

They would be included in the client. Simple. There is nothing in Android that impedes that.

So in essence you want them to want all of their games, or games from now on, to also include android and or IOS counterparts, much like they have for MAC and linux?
Porting a game over to a phone is lot more work then porting to say linux or mac. Just isnt viable.
I also dont think a stand alone mobile section would clash with steam's current market goals and would require a lot of back end client reworking to allow for the new market.

Just because Steam supports Mac and Linux now does not mean that all games released from now on have to be compatible with those platforms.
Owning a game that runs on Android and Windows would be the exact same thing as owning a game that works on Windows and Mac and/or Linux.
Obviously when you buy a game that only works on Android it wouldn't have the option to be installed on other OSes, it would just be in your library and only install on an Android client, so what's the problem?

wut? You know that just because there is Linux and Mac client, it doesnt mean that every game has to run on them. Hell, still 90% off the games are for windows and windows only. There wouldnt be any need to port them. Its just a option bundle various versions of the same game. The which didnt have PC versions, would only have the android version for sale. Simple.
edit: ^ guy above said it better.

Thank you for posting a sarcastic reply that contributed an equal amount as he did. Im sure we are all better for the reply you made, as well as the others that contributed the same worthless amount to the entire discussion for which you are so adamant requires contribution to.
This reply to also contributes nothing, but at least Im aware of that.

To be fair many agreeing are stating why and not just putting

Well, maybe its because people saying yes are using arguments and all that, stating why Steam should do it?
Saying just "no" without explaining why is a worthless contribution, yes.

if they did music as well I'd be cool with that
hell why not make an iTunes-esque VALVe program, I'd download and use it

I'd rather they didn't, but I'm sure they will eventually. Not like I can do a fucking thing about it.

why not, i don't see any point to those who say no(in fact most of the comments in this topic just say no randomly) games are games i don't care if they are on android ios or whatever, if I enjoy them then what's the problem and even if you don't like touchscreen (I personally don't like it too much too), the os and so on, this is not a valid point to say no(and also there are many people that like it, steam it's not only meant for one person but in a way or in an other try to satisfy gamers of different genres). I presume many see phone, tablet games like they where 10 years ago or something like this, the true fact is that this is not the reality, those games are becoming as any other handled or console games, no differences(except the controller, but is this the real problem?) and if you want more quality content for this kind of devices then, instead of discriminate them try to think how they can be improved and support developers in making better things( don't be hypocrites, maybe you have a nintendo ds with worst games then some of the android stuff and you play it). Also I saw on google play things like ff iii, iv costing 12 euro or something like this, it's the same game as the one on the ds with the exception that the ds one now cost something like 30 euro and when it came out something around 40 and people still complain: "whoa 12 euro for a phone game they are crazy", just think, don't do things only cause you like to follow other people thinking or you cannot adapt to the new things.

what's wrong with having a "supermarket" i like the idea of having all my things in the same place, I already hate to have some pc games on different platforms rather then steam(casue this means more places I forgot about where to look at my games, more software i don't want on my pc just to use some games) and also on android i have some applications on the amazon app store rather then google play and again I have to have more software only to download my game. I like steam and I like what it offers to me for now so i would also like to have different content in it(and not only games but also other kind of media contents). And also why not, the discounts on steam, on google play are very few and not so impressive, having a discounted game(movie/music and so on) would be great for me and others like me that aren't so full of money and also they may lead in less piracy on mobile devices, I think all the people I know download illegally all the stuff on their device and this leads to disadvantages for people like me that buy things and also worse content cause developers may have not interest to support something not profitable.

Outside the US, you can only purchase apps with Google Wallet linked credit and debit cards only, and all the nice apps and Google Play gift cards are US only. Buying apps with imported Google Play gift cards through a VPN, MarketEnabler and a fake US account might work once or twice, but eventually they'll find out and suspend your account. It's like they don't want me to give them money, and they are actively blocking my efforts to give them money.
Oh, and when they suspend your Google Wallet account, they ask for more personal information to reinstate it. This can happen to any account, US or not.

It happened to me and I live in the US. The problem was I moved from one city to another - 70 miles apart. Apparently Google had an issue with this and wanted me to acquire information for them that even the DMV doesn't give a rat's ass about. I finally bitched in one of my emails to them saying, "If it's good enough for the DMV, it's good enough for Google. If you want more, you can screw off."
Within a few hours of that one, I got my access back. XD
