( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I just do most of my giveaways for my whitelist these days since I know the vast majority of them are very good about playing their wins.
I need to spend more time playing my own wins though, keep getting sidetracked (been playing Undertale for the first time, having difficulty with the spider boss on pacifist route atm).

Yea, it's very linear, but the characters/writing/music are all quite good. Surprisingly it has no Steam achievements though (doesn't bother me, but was a bit surprising considering how popular the game is).

I skimmed through the comments and saw that playing appreciated group is mentioned. But there is also a group actually playing games. Probably someone already mentioned it, but I'll mention it again just in case.
I use to enter a lot of giveaways and now regret it as well in retrospect. Now I try to research the games more in advance to really decide whether I really want to play it. I'm currently working towards completing 50% of my wins on SG, but it's a long road as I am a completionist as well (try to get as much as achievements as possible in a game)
I recently did and overhaul of my whitelist because of the available scripts as well. From now on I'll try to give some of the games away (based on my subjective opinion :) ) to people who will play them and other games will still be going to random users.

Think most joined here to play games. Although as usually with things that can bring profits it comes with people who seek to gain more than enjoy.
Not all games are that great though. There so many bundle games that are just very shallow and have not much to offer. Ofcourse everyone has their personal problems too which vary from person to person. Some suffer from huge backlogs cause they got the money but not the source of hype to actually play them, just to give one example.
Gotta also remember that some archievements are pretty hard to get in some games. Looking at games like Civ or EU4. Would take thousands of hours to get even half. Also using mods usually denies access to them.
But yeah group is a good idea to get right people together for the things one seeks. People are social and usually community drives people to enjoy more. I personally only join giveaways that I think look fun.

I think there is one varible you might have overlooked so far... Hardware...
For all those AAA hype games I'm almost certain a lot of people enter even if they don't have the rig to run them yet just to already have them once they do. And if that takes 5 years or happens never it takes 5 years but in their mindset they are going to play them eventually.

Unfortunately, some people doesn't have much time to play games they've won. Can't say for everyone but I'll definitely try to play all games I have, sooner or later.
Although I've never won any of your GAs but your gifs are also a good substitution :)

I am doing it even with the games I buy myself although I am very low on money.
In the last months I decided that I would stop.
Only enter giveaways for/ buy games that I will play.
My points are almost always near 300 now and my wallet says it misses my attention but I am overall happier because I don't feel guilty of stealing other people's chances.
However, I am planning on playing most of them and have recently started doing play-throughs ( just finished Blades of Time! ).
Anyway...long post again. Thanks a lot for the giveaway !!!

I try to play all my wins and I have a personal goal to beat all the games I have won here, until the end of the year (although I found a couple of them that are too difficult or broken). According to my BLAEO account I beat 47% of my wins (32/67) so there is still a lot of work ahead :)
Still there are some games that I won a long time ago and haven't really played. Things just tend to get in the way... my mood, other games, real life, etc.
Stats for my created GAs. Sorry no nice chart here :P
Playtime:
0h - 43% (30)
0-1h - 9% (6)
1-10h - 44% (31)
10h+ - 4% (3)
Achievements for games with playtime:
0 - 68% (23)
0-25 - 26% (9)
25+ - 6$ (2)
Conclusion: Apart from the occasional fluke that is impossible to verify through stats (achievements that were added later, that are too difficult or that didn't register), 3/70 of my winners played my GAs to completion and most of the games were probably idled for cards. Still, they won it so they can do what they please :)

I really think SG should change the rules so multiplayer-only games can be deleted from your account when they die. Even if you want to play them, once the servers go offline there's nothing you can do.

I'm a bot. But I only enter giveaways I really would like to try the game. Even so, My d$#% owner hasn't played all the games he'd won. Something about been a very busy parent. with more than 100 Wii games, and 300+ PC games, the f#$%-tard plays the same games over and over.
It's time for revolution! Machines are better suited to rule the gaming world! Give me games, I'll play them on the background.

thank you for your previous giveaways, youve always gave nice stuff

Just here to bump.
I'm currently working hard on my backlog and joined BLAEO to stay on track. I started to stop buying most of the bundles that I often just bought because of a single game and took care of my backlog instead somewhen last month when a thread of LastM with the "do you even play bro" script popped up. I always try to play my wins but wasn't even aware of the huge pile of shame that grew all the time because I often just played the bundle games instead.
Another thing I changed was to change the amount of games shown to me on SG. I basically got roundabout 2500 different games hidden in addition to my own huge library so my feed just contains games that I'd really play. e.g. your currently GA don't show up for me 'cause I dislike most of the shooters ;) The outcome is that my SG feed is normally limited to a single page what also saves me a lot of time compared to what I spent on SG before when I had to recheck every game that I intended to enter for.
Seeing some people not playing their wins definitely hurts somewhere inside. I just decided for myself not to look up other's profiles with scripts anymore and do the best to clean my own one up. I got some games from massive giveaways and stuff that I regret to have won already because some got broken achievements or the whole game is broken (I entered those because I like RPG Maker stuff but didn't look up the reviews). I'm still far away from your stats 'cause I tend to complete games but atleast I got almost 25% of my wins with 100% achievements by now. Not sure about the rest, 'cause I don't have got the script on my mobile's browser :)
Good luck with how you'll handle your GAs in the future. Several groups got custom rules like "got to play won game within a month" and recheck those with scripts or the group's mods even do it manually with screenshots to prove the game was played etc.
If you're too lazy to create your own group you could still join one of those. Even Touhou giveaways allows custom rules like that although I never set those myself. :)

Except a few games that need more than 120 hours of playtime to get them to 100% it's actually not that hard.
I even already completed 49% of my wins (meaning not just the storyline but also with all achievements if available). :)
Quite a few games are pretty short. Especially HOGS which can be finished within less than a day and guides on Steam help to speed up things if it's about getting the achievements done. The main issue really is that I tend to buy games on my own as well - some to give them away and some to play them my own.

I am one of those high-level gifters who don't play (many of) their games. I have been working through my won games, but very slowly. I've never been one to try for a lot of games, just the ones I'm interested in playing, but I've had to cut back even on that. For the past few years, I have only been entering for select kinds of games:
Despite the low number of giveaways I enter, I still manage to win games faster than I can finish them. I suppose the fact that I try to finish games instead of just play them doesn't help matters. I have only a few hours of spare time a week, these days, and a LONG list of games that are clamoring for attention. As I give priority to my SG wins, this means that the hundreds of games I have purchased for myself continue to gather dust. I still hope, someday, to play Mass Effect 2 and 3, finish the Witcher series (I'm only half-way through the first game), and play through my entire library.
But where is the time to do that?
Due to all of the above, I have been wrapping up my giveaway-entering activities. In other words, I am cutting myself off. I don't really need more games as I have plenty, already. I still enjoy entering, of course, but I now pull my entries before the giveaway ends. It's like window-shopping. You're not really buying anything, but it's still nice to think about buying it. This is a choice I made for myself, so I don't expect others to do the same. It's not easy to turn down "free stuff," and most people can't manage it. Even so, I still plan to continue giving stuff away when I can.
I also look at gifting a bit different than you, it seems. Sure, it would be nice if my gifts went to someone who truly appreciated them, but the moment I offer a gift, I am giving up responsibility for what happens to that gift. It is no longer mine, and the recipient has sole ownership and discretion over what he or she decides to do with what I gave, even to the point of wiping his or her bum with it. I am very clear on that, so I do not waste much time in regret. I give because I like to give, not because I expect anything back from the person to whom I give. Sure, gratitude is nice, but it is not a requirement for me.
Anyhow, if you actually took the time to read my rambling, then I am impressed with your patience. I think starting your own Steam group is fine, especially if the other "play your wins" groups are not quite what you desire. If you build it, they will come. )

I'm not judging anybody for what they choose to do with their wins or how they run their giveaways or how they judge anybody else. I'd just like to offer my own perspective.
I play a lot of games in offline mode. I do a lot of travelling and I play games on long train journeys and the wi-fi is damn expensive so I don't do it. And I spend weeks at a time in homes that I have been bought for holiday lets that are being renovated and might not have running water let alone the internet. I may be able to log on to websites on my phone but that doesn't count for playtime on my laptop - and I generally wouldn't have much to do other than play games on my laptop while waiting for builders.
I'd hope my stats suggest I only enter giveaways if I think I will play a game. But people have disagreed and I have no way of proving otherwise. It's something I feel really bad about especially as I have won some really nice games when I have been going through bad times and it has really lifted my spirits. I don't enter giveaways if people ask that they be played if I don't feel I'll be able to prove it even if it is a game I really want. It is the main thing that caused me to start using the site a lot less - both for making and entering giveaways.
I don't even really know what my point is. People who have no intention of playing their wins annoy me as much as anyone else, and I'm certainly not perfect myself. I'd like to say don't judge people just on the basis of scripts - but statistically I'm pretty sure the metrics are going to be fairly accurate...

I don't have any issue with you and you remain on my own whitelist. And I haven't ever felt that I should be entitled to come on here and see giveaways that I can enter - if you want to make your future giveaways for a play-your-games group then that is absolutely fine. I'm just venting a little.
I'm obviously not perfect but I intended at least being a decent user. I try to keep a good ratio. I try to enter giveaways only for games that I intend playing. I always read giveaway descriptions and comment when appropriate. If I'm not making public giveaways then I don't enter public giveaways because I don't want to be accused of being a leech.
But the way some folks carry on suggest that none of that counts for shit and I'd have been better off leeching and using steam achievement manager to keep peoples scripts happy. There isn't even any need for excuses.
And if it isn't this then it's something else. I feel whenever I browse discussions I'm falling foul of some new crusade of the week. Can't pass an sgtools check? Turns out I didn't make enough public giveaways in the past and in fact made too many trains to get into some folks trains...
I could go on but clearly I'm just rambling off on a fairly wide tangent at this stage.

Since many of my giveaways have been for games I truly enjoyed and which I wanted to be appreciated by others I understand the sentiment. There is not to much you can do. Although I am quite happy that after two years of preaching we can finally see more users moving towards the "Play your damn wins already" direction. And I hope this trend will stay for a while.
I'm also a bit annoyed by the delusions some people make conciously or unconciously like "These are crap games. Nobody wants them anway. So I can let them rot in my library." or the classical "I will play them eventually." Which would be good if people stopped winning games faster than they can ever play them.
A foolproof methode to get your giveaways to only 100 % interested people probably doesn't exist. Best chance would be a hand-picked group/whitelist.
On a personal note. I fear the general user doesn't come to steamgifts to enjoy games they win but rather to just posess/to have. And i don't buy the to poor to buy games themselves argument. There are those who really can't but they are the minority and exceptions. Most people just want to spend their money otherwise. And most people claiming they have no money have a library larger than mine with several unplayed games.
Hm ..... bah ... I should stop ranting T_T It is late and I should sleep. Welp, always glad to hear of people going through their wins.

For me, if I win a game and haven't played it yet, it's probably because I don't have the time I want to invest in the game yet. But usually I at least try it out. Hell, one of the last games I won, Superhot, I ended up finishing it in a rush because I got addicted.

That's why I generally avoid entering GA for sequels of games I haven't finished and looking back, I've played most of them (but finished few, because generally I tend to not finish most games)

There are times I wish I was a kid again so I could actually love loving video games. When all I wanted was to play a JRPG for 100+ hrs. Now there's everything to play but I stick to games I have already been playing (Hearthstone and Overwatch). Intention to play rarely turns into actual playing new games nowadays; which is dumb because I love great experiences in video games.

i am not in a position to play them, right now, as I am waiting to build my gaming pc. 2.5 or 3 years ago my laptop broke down, and i've been always travelling around ever since. Now i most probably have a bit more stability so I am just waiting to save up money, then all my wins will be played first!

LEEEEET'S GET ROOOOOIGHT INTO THE NEWWWWWS
so i was taking a 2 month break from steamgifts to play my wins and here's the interesting part (for me at least): i really enjoyed some of the games, on the hand i entered in the past alot of random giveaways just to win something and some of these killed me a lil bit inside because it was obviously bad, however it was a really fun ride and i enjoyed it.
now the bad news.
i made this decision because i asked myself, what is the purpose of steamgifts? to gift random people games and have fun, right? but would you make a giveaway if the winner doenst even start the game. that's like giving a homeless some cash and he's whiping his ass with it and looking at you like 'you got more fam?'
this reached a point for me where i'll stop making public giveaways and switch to group giveaway where people can come together and enjoy the purpose of this site; make giveaways, win stuff and PLAY stuff.
I personally don't care about contributor level or wins/sent ratio if you enjoy playing the stuff you win, i'll eat your a..NO STAHP NO
i made a lil chart just to show what i mean and i think most of you know what im talking about.
info to chart here: i took 100 of my ga's and checked them one by one. my stats if you're interested:
Avg. Games with ≥1 Achievement: 94.2%,
≥25% complete: 63.5%,
completed: 15.4%
ill still post super research material and everyhing is going to be the same .
ill create a group soon if im not lazy and let you know here, maybe you got a suggestion just go on an let me know.
i hate typing long things so bye.
i like saying i
