It probably doesn't make you feel any better, but I have lots of games (and I spend very little money on games) that I haven't gotten around to playing yet, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate them. Shit, I still haven't gotten around to playing Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, which I bought (not won) in 2011! I've also put a lot less time than I'd like to into many of those that I have played because, well, I still have others that I have never even started. I've been systematically working my way through the catalogue of games won on this site, at least starting them, anyway, and I am up to giveaways that ended 4 months ago. So, that's an explanation of sorts that might apply to others here. I understand your frustration though. BTW, a solution to the homeless beggar scenario that I recently employed was to gesture to a nearby pizza shop and order the guy a pizza when he followed me in.

Get this: my second rarest achievement on Steam, something that only 0.33% of players have achieved, is "Hello :D" from Cat Goes Platform, which is awarded when you start the game! My rarest achievement, at 0.25%, is "The First Deaths" from the same game, awarded after your first 10 deaths, something that could quite easily be achieved within 30 seconds of "Hello :D". The future is lost.

I have no idea. It truly boggles the mind to think that only 1 out of every 300 people/accounts that owns this game has even started it. Maybe they created a LOT of fake accounts to write positive reviews before Steam stopped including accounts that didn't purchase the game through the Steam Store in the positve/negative review calculation.
I have managed to avoid ZUP, but I think I have "enjoyed" a similar experience with Vitatio 2: there is an achievement for each of the first five attempts at each maze (there are 8)! An attempt ends as soon as the pointer touches a boundary, so you could quite easily accumulate 5 achievements within 10 seconds of loading the game. Completing a maze nets you another 3 achievements if you piloted the cursor to all three goal locations en route to the ultimate destination, and this scenario is repeated for each maze, with bonus achievements after every second new maze completed, for a total of 68 of the least satisfying achievements available. The store description actually says there are 85 achievements to unlock, so it pains me to think of the 17 that have been culled.

That's just ridiculous. From what I remember seeing, the Zup achievements are coloured letters and people use them to decorate their profile pages by spelling out words. Maybe it was a clever move to give the achievements some sort of value beyond the satisfaction of achieving something because they certainly lose that when they are thrown at you like Buy 1, Get 1 Free meal vouchers in a shopping mall. As you say, they also need to seem realistically achievable because you can't be motivated to attempt something you think is impossible.

I always enter giveaways for games I'm at least a bit interested in
I still have some really oooold wins to play, but sooner or later I'll get to them.. I have to say that the challenge offered by the 'play a game you won on Steamgifts month' threads really helps :D
btw, if you'll going to create a group, I think I'm going to join.. if not for the giveaways, I'm sure I'll find something of interest anyway...

Oh, I do plan on playing the games I've won, but you see, my computer is quite old. It can't handle some of the games I've won. I am currently saving up for a new computer, and will be playing my new games once I get my new computer in about 2 years time.

I have a lot of unplayed games in my library but when I win a game i always play it in the week/month.
It's a sort of maneer to show my respect/gratitude to the giter :s (unless 1 or 2 games that my computer couldn't run or massive givaways from prducers.. )
Btw your giveaways are awesome. They mostly are on my whishlist <3 <3 <3

TL;DR
Hah!
Just kidding (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
I thought they're about whereabout of One Piece's treasure so I'm now disappointed
Or a dirty joke, or lewd anime gif
Well those games always have a better chance to get played if you make thread like this I guess
Though it won't be 100%
So how's your day? Is it still good? xD

As I've said before... I was almost about to take that game seriously after my buddies told me about the first one but they just had to go that route, didn't they :D
Well I guess they just can't help it ^^

Well, I'm one of those who doesn't really played their wins... but I'm trying to change that. I have the usual weak excuse "my rig is not strong enough" - I've bought it 7 years ago, so it's time to get a new one. Or at least get the money to buy it...
The other thing... I mostly play MMOs. Damn, those are timesinks. My WoW account is not even active since February, but it's still summer event in Star Trek Online (need that ship. I won't fly it probably, but I have to get it...), my eternal weapon needs serious farming in Rift, I have to at least play The Secret World before Legends arrives... ugh, I definitely need +6-8 hours per day.
But right now I got an idea to make sure I'll win my wins. I just don't know how I can fit that in my work schedule, since I'm working in constantly changing shifts...

You know, I feel that I've changed a decent amount from when I first joined - I used to join GAs just for the card farming league, but I've cut down on a lot of entries and hidden a lot of games that I know I'd never touch. I think it's because of threads like these that have made me reconsider joining GAs haphazardly. Playing my wins is a WIP though FeelsGoodMan and I'm with you on the sentiment that playing won games is actually pretty fun. I realize that it's going to take me a while to catch up on playing all my wins, but darn it I'm working on it! So Luffy-senpai, please eat my a...pple.

Honestly apart from the developer giveaways for 10k 20k etc copies (for which I can't recall my state of mind) I always try to enter games that interest me, even if ultimately I do not finish them (like I've read that other appreciate your wins thread says you need to get to like 50% of the game to have a true effort, but fuck that, 3 hours of murdered soul suspect was more than enough for me to never want to play that again... "letdown" is quite the understatement).
Filtering games is a huge aid tho, 9481 and counting =)
Also, ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Whatever road you choose, I'll follow you and your gifs ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
..I know it sound like an excuse but time is my worst enemy :\
do you know any very rich person who could "adopt" me?
So that I can focus on videogames =P
..btw, half of the games I've played in the last year are sg wins.. somebody already mentioned it but BLAEO really helped in this.

I feel ya, I still remember when I created a GA and said in description that, if the winner likes (and plays) the game I'll give him all DLC too. Imagine my surprise when he deleted me after a month, despite the fact that he told me after winning that he wanted that game for a long time and can't wait to play the DLC, all this after glorious 0.8h playtime. Damn, I'd prefer good old slap in the face by ignoring me or saying "don't care" instead of this bullshit.
Also thanks for the thread, so many nice people for my WL ;)

Nah, more like 6 months when I got back here, back then I was just a kid looking for a free game who quickly got bored and left.
As for winning I just enter for games that I'd play and with my growing pile of not played games there is not many of them.
Also if people won't play their winnings I can't do anything about it other than create more giveaways :)

LEEEEET'S GET ROOOOOIGHT INTO THE NEWWWWWS
so i was taking a 2 month break from steamgifts to play my wins and here's the interesting part (for me at least): i really enjoyed some of the games, on the hand i entered in the past alot of random giveaways just to win something and some of these killed me a lil bit inside because it was obviously bad, however it was a really fun ride and i enjoyed it.
now the bad news.
i made this decision because i asked myself, what is the purpose of steamgifts? to gift random people games and have fun, right? but would you make a giveaway if the winner doenst even start the game. that's like giving a homeless some cash and he's whiping his ass with it and looking at you like 'you got more fam?'
this reached a point for me where i'll stop making public giveaways and switch to group giveaway where people can come together and enjoy the purpose of this site; make giveaways, win stuff and PLAY stuff.
I personally don't care about contributor level or wins/sent ratio if you enjoy playing the stuff you win, i'll eat your a..NO STAHP NO
i made a lil chart just to show what i mean and i think most of you know what im talking about.
info to chart here: i took 100 of my ga's and checked them one by one. my stats if you're interested:
Avg. Games with ≥1 Achievement: 94.2%,
≥25% complete: 63.5%,
completed: 15.4%
ill still post super research material and everyhing is going to be the same .
ill create a group soon if im not lazy and let you know here, maybe you got a suggestion just go on an let me know.
i hate typing long things so bye.
i like saying i
