Hey, ya'll. I want to check a key for a game I already own, and I have a question:
The steamdb extension only gains access to my basic Steam data, right? Nothing sensitive?

You can also try via console. For convenience, most of us use the steamdb extension. :)
Search this topic for the word "ajaxregistrkey".
And since I forgot to answer... As you already have it, it won't tell you if it's a working key, but that you already have it. There is no way to know if a key is definitely working.
If you want to give it away, there is this group.

Many thanks, buddy. I appreciate your helpful assistance. :)
That extension is definitely convenient, and just kinda cool. I was hopeful that I had an R.I.P.D.: The Game key to create a π giveaway with, but it turns out the key is for Dementium II HD. π©

It was / is for "King's Bounty: Armored Princess Comp", but since I already have it, I don't know if it's still available.

Just got the strategy game Us and Them: https://store.steampowered.com/app/281350/US_and_THEM/
Saw it in my library a moment later and had a good laugh:

Look in the library/web assets section, someone confused the two different games us&them vs them&us lol
I'm thinking this is an honest mistake, especially if you look at the dates in the changelog when those images were added; It's around the time when the beta steam UI launched with the new library grid view, which required all games to add new image assets to match the new grid sizes.
So if I had to guess, being an older game, someone responsible with maintaining the store page just quickly googled the game name and reused whatever first results they found π
PS: if you want to fix it on your end, you can download correct user-made images from: https://www.steamgriddb.com/game/3907
(right click images in steam client, and select "set custom artwork")
