1) In the trading section of the site, you are given a bump button that you can use every hour.
2) Contact the trader. Otherwise, all you can do is mark their profile with a negative feedback and report on SteamReps.
3) There is decay only if the game you gave away gets a permanent price cut.
4) You can join as many giveaways as you want, so as long as you are able to join it.

1.) All trades should be conducted here: http://www.steamgifts.com/trades
There is a "bump" feature for your trade so you can push your trade thread to the top without making a comment.
In general, if you try to make a trade on the discussion section, people will shun you.
2.) Trading is at your own risk. If you get scammed, the most you can do is give them a -rep on their profile.
3.) Your contribution level can decay, but only if Steam decides to give it a cheaper price.
Games that get sold for over 95% off will go into the "bundle list". http://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games
These games will receive 15% of their contribution value.
It's possible that you give away a "non-bundled" game and it gets bundled later on, which would also decrease your level.
4.) No restrictions. But maybe someday you'll feel guilty like the rest of us and give back to the community.

1.) Yeah, sorry I def wasn't trying to promote. Simply curious about the process... Last night I didn't even know this handy dandy reply button was here!
4) lol Haven't won anything and I already feel guilty. I will def be contributing in the future :)

1- Theres a bump option on the post that you can use to bump every hour, dont comment saying bump or such.
2- The only ones responsible for the trade are you and the other trader. Meaning if you get scammed, you wont get your items back, all you can do is report them to a site like steamrep, or give -rep on this site to warn others
3- Level doesnt usually drop, if you contribute so much you will keep so much (The exception is when a game on steam loses value, for example you give a game worth 20€ then later it becomes 15€ on steam, that will affect your cv)
4- You can join as many giveaways as you want as long as you have points to spend

Fake answered all of your question. i'll just add:
nothing to add
trade with someone who has a positive feedback. lost of it - can never be too sure, but double and triple check
even one of the support got scammed a few days ago.
once you give a game you get CV for it. if that game has a price drop - NOT SALE!!! - your cv will go down.
all you want. it's easiet too look for wishlisted games (from steam). look in the left side of the screen...
enjoy the site :)

welcome!
1) i am not sure ... once every 6 hours? 8 hours?
2) you will become part of our club "we have been scammed"
3) the rank can be lower but that's not a rule. Bundled games worth 15% of their store value in Contribution Value (CV) while non-bundled games worth the full price. Let's consider you giveaway a non-bundled game. You will receive it's store value in CV. As a game gets older, there are high chances it gets bundled. When it does, you will lose 85% of the CV you gained from that game from that point and on.
So basically, if you giveaway bundled games, you will not lose CV unless they become free. If you giveaway non-bundled games, there are high chances you lose CV after a couple of years.
4) You are free to join as many giveaways as you want, you are even free to become a leecher! Just don't enter giveaways of games you will never play as you practically lower the winning chances of other SG's members who may want the game. Last but not least, if you cannot afford giving away games, it is totally fine! There are no obligations to do so. But! If you plan not to giveaway any games or giveaway rarely (like once every 6 months) i suggest you stay away from the forums in order to avoid getting blacklisted.

Actually what he says about the bundled/unbundled games is not true. Games given away before they ever appeared in a bundle will forever stay full value games in your account, it doesn't matter if they end up in a bundle even after a week you've given them away. The only case when you lose some CV is when Steam lowers the game price itself.

New question!!! Where is the bump button you guys speak of??? I cannot locate it and it's been 4 hours, so if I can really do it every hour then... lol :)
Comment has been collapsed.
On the right side, you can click on Open and it will pull up a drop down menu, with an option to Bump Thread

Ah fresh meat! :D Welcome!
Well 4 is what we mainly do lol. Yup, spend all those points on games you want and that you don't own. Some giveaways are restricted by their levels or reserved for group members, some are even hidden from your sight. Your obligations as a winner is 1) make a feedback on your win page 2) activate the game you won on your steam account <= veeeery important point here: you cannot make a giveaway with that game you just won and you can't offer it to someone, AFAIK. Also have your steam profile public and often synchronize your profile here.
Enjoy the site! :)

Thank you, actually that was a question I forgot to ask that you just answered! I noticed that I can't try to win duplicate games if they're already in my steam list (not that I was trying just clicking through giveaways). So I just automatically assumed I couldn't win duplicates, and I really wouldn't want to try to giveaway a game unless I had another copy of it. Mainly because I'm a completionist (though you can't tell it from my steam account)
So you have to add them to your library if you win them. Check :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Sometimes it can happen that you win 2 giveaways of the same game in a short period though. In that case, you have to activate one copy, then contact the other gifter to let them know they should request a new winner.

Thanks! I wasn't 100% sure what to do in that situation either, big help.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just 2 things, since all your question have been answered already:
a. People will most likely use the I want/I have search features so bumping every hour is hardly needed.
b. While there is no rule against it, it is usually frowned upon to enter for games you have no intention to play.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I don't intend to bump every hour, in fact I'm going to bump this time and go play that awesome game dead state :) I have a pretty wide genre and most of the games that I can apply for right now are indie games since I'm level0 :( I intend to fix that on the first though. Thank you for your input!

You should also try to be active on the forums, so you get on peoples whitelist. That will open up the whitelist giveaways from them. Als joinging groups can be a good thing. Half the games I won comes from one group.
Btw, I added you to my whitelist, because you seem like a nice person :D

Lol Thanks! Is there a whisper function on these forums because I have a question now that I'm not... Oh whatever, I'll ask here anyway :)
Above LegendsSaga said, "But! If you plan not to giveaway any games or giveaway rarely (like once every 6 months) i suggest you stay away from the forums in order to avoid getting blacklisted."
You're telling me I should be active on the forums yes? So this means I have to contribute a certain amount of games per week/month?
I mean it's not a big deal because I can always spend like 5$ on 5 games and give them away, but my thing is there a certain commitment requirement or dollar amount to be considered a "good guy" around here?
Life story time: I'm disabled, I make enough for basic needs (rent food), internet, and about 20-30$ a month (depending on electric) for gaming. So say I need to contribute 30$ in gifts to the site a month to get on people's white lists that's my whole budget...
Not trying to be a downer or anything and I haven't jumped to conclusions, just would like some clarifications on how the whole process works. I totally wouldn't mind spending like 5-10$ a month on games to gift to other people, I'd actually try to get a wider variety too because everybody loves timberman lol...
Comment has been collapsed.
Don't bother about this. Just give away when you want to give away.
People blacklist for a whole lot of different reasons, so if you're active in the forums, you'll probably get blacklisted at some point anyway, whatever the reason is. It doesn't matter, being blacklisted isn't a big deal. And if you're being a nice person you'll end up on much more whitelists than blacklists.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's arbitrary. I would say that most people would not blacklist you if you post on the forums and contribute to the discussion. Those that would: it's not really a dollar amount, but more like if you won 100 games and you only gave away one game then some people would be upset and blacklist you. But people are totally understanding too of your life situation.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, I don't like telling my life situation all the time :P frankly it's none of their business! Ha!
But it makes sense, I'll probably be here the next 6-12 years and win maybe 1 or 2 games. I'm just that lucky!
Comment has been collapsed.
I thought that at the start, but lately I've been winning some games (nothing big, but some fun games). As to your previous question: most people won't care about your ratio, as long as you have given away some games. So far I only blacklisted one person because he had something like 200 wins and no GA's. If people want to blacklist you, they'd find a reason (or just do it). And the people that blacklist a lot of people, I usually don't want to have anything to do with anyway. Just be nice and you'll end up on some whitelists.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I'm a nice guy anyway so that should be easy enough. Thanks for all the tip, it's greatly appreciated :)

Throwing random giveaways at people is an acceptable form of "hijacking". :P
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh neat, I can kind of get creative with that. There anyway to know if the OP wont get upset about you jumping in and making a post about your giveaway? I mean, what I'd probably do is do something on topic and then have a link at the end of my post to my giveaway kind of like what a signature would be like. I've actually noticed a lot of the forum posts are completely random off-topic nonsense that is kind of hard for me to follow but I totally want to jump in and link cat pictures. I'm just kind of lurking at the moment until I get the ebb and flow of things.
Comment has been collapsed.
People post links to private giveaways all the time. Of course, promoting a public giveaway in the forum will be a bit frowned upon. Use common sense and you shall be fine. :P
Comment has been collapsed.
I didn't knew about the 3), regarding you lose CV if a game gets a price cut or become free... :/
Whats the point of that? Doesn't seem fair. I can't understand the logic of it.
Comment has been collapsed.
The database doesn't store historical pricing on every game, due to the unreliability of the Steam API. The contributor value is therefore always calculated against the current store price.
Comment has been collapsed.
I see, ty for the answer. Thats unfortunate. After I posted I did a search and found some posts of complaints about it. The problem is, people say "its not about your CV, its about giving" and etc, but people still judge you by your CV. I mean, not everyone can give over 2k of games, you know, a lot of ppl (including me) first came here to win, and then you win, and when the feeling of gratitude takes you over, and you understand the philosophy of the site, you are always looking for ways to give back to the community when you can. I started with bundle leftovers, then started to buy 2 copies of bundles, now when there is a sale, if I can, I buy two copies (one two give). I even gave a game that I don't have on my acc and I really wanted because I have already a lot of games on queue to play and I know I can buy it again in the future on another sale.
But if somehow I'm in a situation where I can't give anything for a while, then games I gave gets bundled/price cut, and I am lucky in that period and win a lot of giveaways, I know I will be judged.
PS: This is not about me. I've only given bundled games so far. Only one was not bundled before, but it was on sale, and in this case I would be totally fine with getting the CV for the sale price. I was just happy for the opportunity to give a good game and that didn't cost so much to me, so I have more money to give other good games. I'm really working to improve the quality of my giveaways considering the money I can spend on it, so sales are important, but not for CV.
Comment has been collapsed.
As I said below to the OP, those who do it for the CV are usually the ones who get bitter about the price drops.
And about others judging you for your contributions, my best advice is to simply ignore them. Anyone who judges you without the full knowledge of your situation isn't someone's opinion you should value in the first place.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, as mentioned above the quality of my giveaways will always be pretty poor because my income is poor sadly. Maybe one day it'll change but for the foreseeable future that's the situation I'm in. I totally understand the desire to increase the quality of game but for me it just wont be possible.
However, it's not about money, I plan to giveaway some games, trade some games, chat on the forums, make people jealous of my fallout 4 shelter come November 11th (have to give me a day to build it). Etc. So far seems like a great community I've joined and I'm happy to be a part of it!

Welcome to the site Doeetright. In case you haven't done so already, it's worth reading the FAQ and Guidelines.
People have answered pretty much all your questions already, but it's worth mentioning in point 4 that anything you win MUST be activated on your own account. (Which is why you can't enter for something you already own.) Therefore, it's a good idea to join for games you're genuinely interested in. While there's no rule against it, remember that winning a game you don't plan on playing means you're taking it away from someone who might have loved to do so.
Also, contributing games yourself will give you the opportunity to raise your contributor's level and give you access to more (and often better) giveaways. Try not to get caught in the level things too much tough. It's better to give out of generosity and consider levels as a way to thank you for it. Those who give specifically to raise their level usually end up bitter about it whenever a price change, glitch or whatever else makes their value fluctuate.
Also, being active in the forum will not only provide you with a lot of interesting conversations, but there's a lot of private giveaways for those who are an active part of the community. (Puzzles are always a excruciating very nice way to spend your time.)
Comment has been collapsed.
Yep read the FAQ and Guidelines couldn't find the answers to my questions
4) It's been mentioned and I appreciate it, I def wont be winning any games I don't intend on playing. I've figured out how to just search my wishlist and those are the only games that I have entered giveaways for at the moment.
I understand, I have a plan and just doing it incrementally over a long period of time.
Kitty Pictures!

Also, while not a rule as much as advice to win games more often, try to find your way onto whitelists/groups. It will greatly increase your win rate. Sometimes people will recruit for whitelists (my own whitelist recruitment currently open, plus a shamelss plug)/groups, and it doesn't hurt to apply as long as you read any requirements and don't annoy people by being needy. Also, don't be hesitant to enter for games you want. While some people will complain about "leechers" if you never give anything away, it is the purpose of the site.

Welcome to the madness. :D We have just one rule here, a very important rule, that you must abide by all times or face the wrath of our dark lord and saviour Cute Cthulu. Once you have pledge allegiance to the Dark Lord, you may have one, I repeat, ONE cookie per hour up to a max 5 per any given day. What is this rule you ask? Well....
Don't be an ass :D

New question! Okay, so I'm not supposed to giveaway free games, does this include games that are free for a limited time? For example I have a copy of Enclave - http://store.steampowered.com/app/253980/ (which I assume I got for free) in my library, and have a steam key for it that I got from a bundle.
Since it was free at one point in time am I not supposed to give it away? Or is it just literately Free to Play Games?
I can't giveaway anything more right now anyway so it doesn't really matter. Just asking for the future! Thanks!
EDIT: Sorry I bumped my old thread instead of creating a new one, seemed like the best place to do it...

NEW QUESTIONS!!!
1) Does anyone know the CV (I think it's called CV the points to level up) it takes to get from 0 to 1? I can do the math and just keep doubling it from there but I don't know the initial value and I'm not sure where to find it. Not that I really care about the $$$ signs more just a curiosity.
2) What is the most optimum time to post giveaways length wise? One day I feel is too short because some people can't may miss out or be unable to join (Or is it too short?!?) Right now I'm using one week and it feels like it's taking FOREVER... Is there a sweet spot that you use?
3) When I unlock higher levels I unlock the ability to GA more games at once yes? I kind of like doing it staggered but I'm IRL a paranoid person so I'm afraid someone is going to steal my key. Would be simple to just GA all the games at the same time.
I think that's all for now, I'll add more if I think of any...
Comment has been collapsed.
Edit: One more thing. There is also a daily giveaway limit of 100.

Does this Bump my thread? Can I bump my own thread? I had these questions and would like someone to answer them pleases... No rush, just don't want this thread to fade into obscurity just yet!

1.) What's the rule on bumping our own post? These guys buying, selling and trading hundreds of CS:GO Keys with or without bots are obviously a hot commodity, and I just have a single game I'd like to trade. Plus I'm not in a huge rush, I just don't want to leave it dead in the water either so there any advice there?
2.) What happens if you make a trade and the key I receive doesn't work? I get that steamgifts isn't to be held liable, but I imagine Valve wouldn't do anything about it either since this is kind of a grey area yes? Or do they fully support this and would revoke the key I "gifted/traded" them?
3.) Is there a decay on contribution level? Say I contribute 50$ through gifts, then I get into an MMO for 6 months to a year and stop messing around with steam, when I come back will my rank be lower? Hope I explained this one well enough...
4.) Now, this is an honest question and not me begging for games because from what I've read on your forums lolz... you don't take kindly to that.... Can I literately just sit all day and join giveaways and hope I win? I'm nearly always at the 300 pt cap because I'm trying to trade my game so I'm checking in constantly... There any rules or restrictions on this? I feel bad for applying for the games being nub and all...
Thanks for all the answers guys, it's much appreciated!
