During the sale I'm.not sure, most likely. SS pack is 100 retail, and PK pack is 60. Probably shoulda bought them on sale xD. All I got this sale was Shadow of Mordor.

Well i already finished the main campaign, it was ok but it should take you like seven hours on lower difficulties, i havent played multiplayer yet but tried the snapmap mode playing some of the original doom levels, in this mode the screen frozen and had to restart the pc :(
im gonna test multiplayer tomorrow.

Most expensive thing I bought in the sale was a DLC for $5.99. Assetto Corsa - Dream Pack 1, because I wanted the laser-scanned Nürburgring Nordschleife :P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I've considered that game a few times but the amount of DLC really deters me.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There have been 50% off coupons for the base game that you might be able to find. The DLCs are not at all required to play, they just add new tracks and vehicles. Kind of like Train Simulator and the millions of DLCs. :)

In this DLC that I bought it contains the laser-scanned version of the infamous "Green Hell" Nordschleife course, which is not the only thing in the pack (also contains cars) but it's the reason I bought it. :) six dollars in exchange for that effort is not an unfair price to me.

Check out this video comparing the game to real life:

The largest Steam Sale purchase I ever made was the Eidos Anthology.
It normally costs between 200 - 425 depending on if you purchased them separately or bundled.
During a Winter Sale I bought the entire thing for $35.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Funny story about that one. Years back, me and a guy from America used to trade stuff, occasionally buy each other games and pay back later when we could. I bought him Eidos Collection at full price back in 2007 and my PC died not long after, when I came back, he claimed he'd already paid me back for it when he hadn't. :(

I bought nothing this sale, last Christmas I spent ~$100 on Steam... :S On $2 games. :D

I had one game (The Deed: Dynasty for $0.34) in my cart but thought about for too long.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

When you buy loads of $2 games only to see them all in a bundle the week after for a total of $5. Happened so many times to me. :(

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not as bad as buying a $15 game as a great deal and not getting around to it before it's in a $4 bundle... Yes, Big Pharma. :/
And just bought Distraint and now it's been given away for free.

Usually though, I don't know if it's thanks to the kind of games I like, but I don't see many of the on sale games bundled before I get to play them. And very rarely in bundles that have more than one such game so they don't end up costing me that much more. Almost got into trouble with Artifex Mundi (and Daedalic) games before I learnt they bundle their stuff like no tomorrow. :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I was close to buying Big Pharma a while ago. Thankful I never now as I just got it in the new Humble Bundle. I actually ended up buying Theme Hospital on sale at GOG instead. :D

Haha, I know what you mean man. I've got like 10 Artifex Mundi bundles in total from different bundle websites.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I was kinda happy and excited to buy the previous HB with Big Pharma. It had some good games and by then I'd had BP on my wishlist for a while. Back then my intention was to start something similar (management/builder) but for whatever reason never got round to it. Even installed it back then. :D Now kinda regretting that. ;)

The 'Theme' franchise is great. Oh, I particularly miss Theme Park! The builder (and to an extent, management) genre doesn't feel nearly as exciting as it was in the late nineties. All the new releases just seem so boring... Like they brought the 'better' graphics and forgot all the fun.

Permalink

I know exactly what you mean, it's the very reason I've still not bought Cities: Skylines even though it's on sale still right now. Tempted but I just feel like I'm going to be disappointed.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I was. I tried it on the free weekend and came to the conclusion that it's worth about $2 to me. It's not a bad game, but with the better games in my backlog, I know I'm not going to feel like playing it any time soon.

However, I really do not appreciate Caesar 3 coming on Steam. I'm pretty sure a meth addict living next door to a lab feels about like I do now.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I kinda got that feeling with it too, I saw the free weekend but didn't bother for whatever reason.

Just noticed I actually have that one too, wasn't that on the Amiga or something similar? Hope you're joking about the meth addict, I live in a block of flats that's surrounded by junkies, they're such a pain to live near. :/

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't know. :o I have it on PC, since forever. :D IT IS ADDICTIVE. I've never been as addicted to a game as I am to Caesar 3. By comparison, I've played CIV IV for about 10K hours, it has cost me a semester at school, I make handwritten notes and had the tech tree on my wall. It's about half as addicting as C3. So... C3 is a bit good. My session length in C3 is usually the time it takes for me to reach the walker limit. I'm really scared if the Steam version comes without that... (Too scared to find out.)

There is a C3 remake on Steam as well, I've played it about 40 hours in three days. It's missing most of the sprites, evens and core mechanics.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Is this the remake: http://store.steampowered.com/app/327640/ ?

Gonna have to buy that DLC to tether it. Can't be missing out on that. :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes it is. :) I don't have the DLC yet either, mainly because I think they said at some point that everyone who played the game in EA gets that achievement at full release. It doesn't really add anything, so... (As if I could uninstall the game ever. :P)

It was a pretty mild sale for me..

Catacomb Explorers - Collector's Edition Content | Catacomb Explorers | Steel Invaders | Help Me Doctor | Plates | GalaxIverse | Smithy | BattleTime | Slingshot people | Mind Spheres | ROD: Revolt Of Defense | And So It Was | Infinity Wings - Scout & Grunt | Madness Cubed | Diib's Dilemma | Knight Adventure | Karma. Incarnation 1 | Monster High: New Ghoul in School | Barbie and Her Sisters Puppy Rescue | Disney Mickey's Typing Adventure | Scooby Doo! & Looney Tunes Cartoon Universe: Adventure

I would have grabbed a few other items but my money is kind of tight atm

Very strange. Catacomb Explorers is £0.79 on it's own but the Collector's Edition is £0.78. :S
