Just wondering what everyone has been buying during the current Steam Sale. Make sure I don't miss any great deals.

I bought 1 thing from Steam itself, which was QBEH-1 for €1.30 something. I bought a few things from bundlestars & gamesplanet though (mad max, fallout new vegas ue, skyrim le, shadow of mordor goty). I don't think I bought anything else, but can't be sure off the top of my head.

I did buy however Deponia: Doomsday & Deponia: The Complete Journey to promote a Kickstarter campaign. I'm also giving away a copy of STASIS but I didn't pay for that as the developer is a friend of mine.

The most expensive thing I've purchased in a sale - though not this one (was last years summer sale) - was €99 for a game design document program called Articy Draft. I got bundle which came with Articy 2 update.

Oh nice, STASIS looks interesting, I'm not big on the isometric point of view in games but this one looks like it has some promise. I'll pick it up at some point, can't help but notice he's got another game called CAYNE due out soon though which is free to play, will there be paid for DLC or is there any chance I'd be able to request a beta key from him to tether the game? :)

Cayne will be a free standalone as far as I'm aware - it's actually a spin-off story-line of STASIS. Both Chris & his brother switched over to Unity to develop it. STASIS was developed on the Visionaire Studio: adventure game engine. After that he will be working on a new game entirely (also isometric view) in Unity called "Beautiful Desolation".

As for Cayne, it's supposed to be out sometime Q1 (January / February). You could try requesting a beta key, but personally I would recommend until you have the final polished product. I haven't gotten a beta key for it myself, but then again I haven't asked for one.

If you want a chance to win a copy of STASIS, then look out for a thread with "A Little Less Desperation" in the title & you'll find the link to the giveaway in there. ;)

STASIS, the developer is a friend of mine.

Tell him that he did a really good game, I really enjoyed it (haven't finished it yet though), and I'm looking forward to his next game. Haven't played CAYNE still :B.

Cayne isn't officially due out for a couple months yet.

I finished STASIS in one play through - if I remember correctly.

Will you be waiting for both then. I won't ask for a key, since i don't like beta state games and games without DLC's, for are an incomplete product until it has all the DLC's.

I believe CAYNE was originally intended as DLC for STASIS, but after swapping to unity it looks like they decided to make it a free to play spin-off about a new character set in the same universe as STASIS. It has its own store page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/532840/

& to answer your question, yes I will be waiting until the final release of both CAYNE, Beautiful Desolation & whatever else they release before I get around to playing them, as I'm not a massive fan of playing beta/alpha/ea state games - especially ones that focus heavily on story. Sometimes I can't get away with that as a freelance developer / scripter as I often have to debug what I've done which means playing parts of games, but I try to limit what I see, so I don't spoil the overall experience too much when I get around to playing the finished game. I helped out with STASIS, though mostly by providing the odd script & advice/support when asked, so I never actually got my hands on the project/resource files for that game, which means I got to enjoy it 100% when I played it. :D
