Contact the giveaway creator an explain the situation. If they fail to give you a working key or gift for the game you've won, mark as not received 7 days after the giveaway has ended.

try the code maybe another 2-3 times. If it doesn't work, do what the other 2 other comment say.

There's no use in that, since it says the code has already been used, not that the code is just plain invalid.

Hello, welcome to Steamgifts.
When you get a chance please read,

this - http://www.steamgifts.com/about/faq
and this - http://www.steamgifts.com/about/guidelines

Both of those will cover most of the questions or concerns you may have about using this site.

Thank you.

To make sure (and also because I won a duplicate key just yesterday) I read through the FAQ and the guidelines again. They don't specifically state what to do in such a case. In fact it's very vague.

I'm not even sure what to do exactly. I contacted the GA creator and he offered me another game - which I rejected ofc because I don't want to risk a ban. So we agreed I'll leave a short statement in the GA that I agree it just gets deleted. But is this acting according to the rules of the site? I have no idea, found nothing in the set of rules.

Yes it is vague, I will agree. Below is about the same as others are saying however, it is just not under the same situation. Yet is still considered as not receiving the game.

If I win a gift, when can I expect to receive it?

  • Giveaway creators are allowed one week to send the gift after the giveaway has ended. Depending on the type of gift and the giveaway creator, you might receive the gift to the e-mail address you have listed on the account page, a key might be added beside the gift you won, or the giveaway creator might have sent you a friend request on Steam to make the exchange. Please remain patient, and do not contact the giveaway creator during this time. If the gift is not received after one week, you can mark the gift as not received, and attempt to contact the giveaway creator on Steam to follow-up.

So is it okay then to agree on having the giveaway deleted? Or more precise: what are the things people can agree upon when contacting the GA creator that has failed to deliever?

I agree that it is up to you to allow that to happen. It is a personal decision that you alone need to make. As a member that has made one or two giveaways myself, if I make the giveaway and I cannot honor it, the last thing I would do is ask the winner to break the rules for me. I would either get the game I owe the member, or let it go as not being received due to my own incompetence. It is up to you how you handle your end of the creator/winner agreement.

You "could" do that, but you still have to mark it unreceived until when/if it ever gets deleted. Once support gets around to the inevitable ticket that you didn't activate it, they generally give a few day suspension. (btw, i don't see that you have any unactivated wins anyway)

Exactly the btw part: as long as it is not marked as anything (received, not received), it just stays hidden, so there is nothing to report. And non-received marking cannot be made in the first week.

I have a digital photo display that only displays the Windows BSoD. :D
But now you have given me a great idea to further its function.
Adding in commonly seen images from other services, such as this duplicate code screen.
Thanks.

If the key has already been used, inform the giveaway creator of this problem. If he fails to provide you with the working key within 7 days of the giveaway ending, you should mark it as "Not received". Do not accept other games in exchange for the one you won. Do not mark as "Received" until you actually receive and activate the game on your account.
