Noticed a few games went no valued on my sent list:

Bundled and zeroed on Dec 14, 2010 (15 years rollback!):

https://www.steamgifts.com/game/ncZPV/cortex-command

Bundled Apr 15, 2022 / No Value Feb 1, 2024:

https://www.steamgifts.com/game/9XQ1c/thief-of-thieves

Bundled May 2, 2023 / No Value May 5, 2023:

https://www.steamgifts.com/game/Eb8JG/the-invisible-hand

Checked the usual places (FGOS, hitsquad etc), don't see how these were free at any point. Does anyone know why or even better, can a mod elaborate on these?

Also noticed I sent a ticket 3 years ago about betas counting as "full games" and a mod replied they couldn't go back over 9 years (so why retrospectively action Cortex Command?):

cortex command seems likely because of it was in the OLDDDDD humble bundles that were true pay what you want?
so a penny for a $20 game. The games in the earlier bundle included with it is also 0d out(also was single key for whole bundle of games if I recall right)

The invisible hand appears to be because of gray market... HL of 15 cents... but that is ignoring the fact that... price will basically triple/quadruple after fees with that storefront(same storefront today is 41 cents... + a 52 cent transaction fee,,, the transaction fee won't be much lower with the lower price since it will be a flat+ nominal % fee) which then the game wouldn't be hitting the threshold for 0CV)

thief of thieves seems to be the same story as invisible hand.

this is the issue with just looking at gray market historic lows... there can be notable fees to use them

If they're going back all that way to zero a GA in 2010, see my ticket screenshot, why are they actioning something that far back when they won't action full value games that don't even exist on Steam (betas)?

Then you have the other two games, Thief of Thieves was a very late actioned game, not sure why but I'll drop that one but The Invisible Hand did not drop to 50p over two days, it took the entire month to slowly drop from £6.47.

I'm seeing the Invisible Hand at $0.24 on May 6th, 2023 before fees.

My two cents is I think before fees is the more accurate way to determine the worth of a game. The gray market seller is receiving before fees profit, not after fees, and if they're selling at $0.15, then they are okay with earning 30% (or whatever the site seller fee is) on that item. Most bundled games are probably obtained legitimately and this $0.15 may follow the trading prices more accurately (no idea, don't trade), which an apt trader can take advantage of.

And the other factor is that you can vastly lessen fees by getting a massive amount of wallet for the site or using another payment method. US generally has large fees but I know Poland's Blik has minimal fees.

What site are you using to see this? ATL was 37p at G2Play in July 2023 (according to gg.deals). Your theory would make sense if there were pages of GAs with multiple copies from the same user for this game but there isn't. Just people giving away their Humble Choice keys.

edit: I checked the archive instead since it wasn't showing private GAs, I saw one Polish user who made several GAs before and after the zero value so I guess they got their keys off bazaar.pl or something. Even so, seeing this two years later is a bit strange, not to mention the 15 year one.

It's actually $0.24 on May 5th after fees and vouchers, I was wrong and looked at it wrong. And I'm seeing ATL of $0.15. Swap your region to "United States" and you'll see it. I swapped to UK and I'm seeing your 0.37 GBP.

For the reason why it was set back by 2 years is because a SG user finally reported it.

when they won't action full value games that don't even exist on Steam (betas)

They stated that back then there was no "no betas" rule, of course they can't sanction users for that retrospectively. Can't break a rule, before it exists.

It would make perfect sense to zero out the value for a game sold for a penny, when it was actually being sold for a penny. To do it NOW, a decade and a half later, is like closing the barn door after the horse has run out, fell off a cliff, and rotted to dust.

I've only been back a month and really tried to check what I was giving away was worth it for people to join. Dishonored 2 seems like it was retro done to over a year ago and is now 0 value as well. Not sure if I'm missing something.

w/e happened to dishonored 2 I can't find any mass giveaways... and no discounts in USD ever exceeded 95-96% including the gray market... hard to say what gray markets looked like in other currencies... I can't be bothered to look.

Jan 16, 2023 is when it was really cheap on gray market due to free GOG keys with Prime. Jan 16, 2024 is when it was marked as zero CV. Must be a mistake from a mod. Planet of Lana that was 0 CV'd for a short amount of time due to this same reason. I filed a ticket to see if the SG mods agree that it should still be full CV.

Bundle games get 15%, not full cv.

Yeah, but if I'm understanding both of you properly, price of GOG keys shouldn't affect any values on SG.

(I can't go as far as never have, but I haven't seen a single Steam key in Prime Gaming in idk, 3 years by this point?)

I haven't seen a single Steam key in Prime Gaming

indeed as it was created as a direct competition to Steam. AMZ bought Twitch for the sole reason to make a gamestore dethroning Gabe (lol I know)

I have faint memories even discord having its own game store, maybe even exclusives!

Gaming is crazy.

I am also confused about Dishonored 2. I was dropping below level 8, so I bought a copy while it had a good sale thinking that I might get to keep full CV or possibly at the worst drop to reduced value, but then it got dropped to 0 for no apparent reason.

I don't understand about the GOG key with Prime. Is that a free key for the game on GOG if you have Amazon Prime? How can a free GOG key have any affect on Steam keys?

Edit: Or were you saying that you think support made a mistake thinking the cheap price was for Steam keys, but it was actually cheap GOG keys?

That seems likely. It was technically free, but not via Steam licenses.

They saw the incredibly low historical low on gg.deals and marked as 0 CV since you can't filter historical low by DRM. Maybe them thinking it was 2024 and not 2023 made them think not GOG as non Steam keys should not impact CV value on Steam Gifts. The 0 CV status has been removed from the game but it is now tagged as Reduced on 18APR2025.

That's better. The reduced value is probably because of the deep sale. I think it was over 90% in the US, so when you factor in other currencies, it was probably around the 95% target for getting reduced.

Has Skabma Snowfall been on sale for more than 90%?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1665280/Skabma__Snowfall/

It has been bundled but afaik its price has never been lower than 90% within any of the bundles.

It should be full value.

looks like a potential victim of regional pricing looking at steamDB lowest recorded prices.

It was in a Steam store bundle which might have pushed its price down past 90% off in some regions -
