Should there be an error message for failed user lookups?
I know about it and when I look up someone but using the link from Enhanced Steam it always take me a couple of seconds to realize I ended up on the home page and that the user doesn't exist.

Agreed.
When I get random invites on steam, the first thing I do is check for SG user info. Would love to have an error message.

I do. That's how I check, but when they're not registered here it just goes to the main page as Zomby was mentioning.

Seems like it might be useful. But it should be "exist" not "exists"!

Fixed. (Well, not in the screenshot but the point remains the same.) That's the thing about English not being my first language, I make stupid mistakes like that.

This is still not implemented, and still very much needed.

It would be helpful having an error message when looking up a user with
http://www.steamgifts.com/go/user/00000000000000000
. Currently, if we try to look up a Steamgifts user who doesn't exist, we are simply redirected to the home page with no explanation. The red bar we sometimes see on various pages to display errors would be perfect for that. (See attached picture)
What do you think?
