Certainly not worth it to me, but I don't like hanging around in alphas and betas. You're helping test a game - though by most accounts, an amazingly brutal and ambitious game.
I'll only buy it after the full release.

a reason to get Dayz now is so you can get it for the 30 dollars instead of what its going to cost in the future, also a reason not to get it would be is that its very basic even more then the mod but if you want to enjoy the game in its buggy alpha state go ahead. I also have Nether which is a good game as well but you should of but it for 10 dollars during the sale i dont think its going to be worth the 30 dollars atm. Also My friend tells me Prison Architect is a good game if your into that kind of stuff you would probably get alot of fun in that. Rust is pretty fun but i have played too little of it to tell you if you should get it or not. Overall though if you have any friends buying Rust Or Dayz Then get it games are always better with friends. Besides those dayz reviews make it look great right?

I voted during every community choice and I don't remember seeing it as an option. Seeing as it was the top seller throughout the winter sale despite not getting a discount, it would have won if it went up for vote. Perhaps you are thinking of Nether.

The fact that you have to ask this question is already enough for me to say not to invest in it. It's early acces, you are paying to support the developers and buy in early.
You can't see that as a normal store purchase. People don't care about it but it's starting get out of hand a bit.
You have no clear idea, at all, of how the final product will be like, thus you should only spend money on it if you have faith it will turn out to be something good and want to support the developers in doing so.
Devs are flooding the store with their early acces games right now and even heavily participate in sales, it's wrong imo.

Unless you don't care about buying an unfinished game of which you have no idea of how it will turn out when it's finished (whenever that may be) you shouldn't 'buy' it.

Just remember that when you're buying an early-access game in an alpha state, you're not actually buying a game. You're buying a an essential 'main prototype' that is still going through big changes and still having it's main chassis built. What you'll be able to download in an alpha isn't really a 'game' you'll have a sit-down play-session of, but rather a tiny taster of what may be. If you want a game to play, find an early access that is in beta at the very least. Better yet, a full release.

./sigh DayZ look much improve with graphic but UI no, It can't use jump as space bar, can't pick up items E or F instead middle of mouse to pick up or open door. I just got this last night try to figure out more, thanks to my friend gift from winter.
Therefore as I know it's early access, I come forward recommend to developer to implement with the space-bar and varies similar to many games are used. easy navigation to use.
If you want well spend to support to developer that your investment for them. Like I do other games I did put investment to Final Fantasy XIV original monthly to end of old era.

Comming from a person who is helping a friend work on the game: If you have any questions on if you should buy Dayz or not. . . The core message to everyone is DO NOT BUY THE GAME.
It says it on the front page, and anyone who is affiliated with the game will state. . . IF you don't know Don't buy. You can take what I say to the bank. If you question then there is 100% no reason to buy this game, if you contact Rocket personally and ask. . . He will state the same thing: " If you want to support development then buy, if you even pause for a moment . . . do not buy".
If you but and post about a refund you will be righteously mocked ridiculed. . . and even made fun of by the community and the people working on patches of the game. It is the first game to publicly state: do not buy this game: it is bugged broken and full of potential errors that may get you pissed. If you know this and still want to put your money to aiding in the development of said game go ahead. . . but do not buy if you have even the fraction of a doubt".
No one had been cheated mislead in their purchase of the game. . but for the love of god. . . do not buy Dayz unless you 100% understand that this game is in development. Though it may look and run pretty there is only 10% of the core game at hand. . So dear god don't buy it if you don't understand what I am saying right now. . . if you do. . . a personal reply of : fuck off if you ask for a refund due to the core of the game being buggy, glitchy, unfinished. .
It is an unfinished game, soooo again: don't buy Dayz. . .wait. . . or be prepared for an incomplete game that will get good later but for now. . . If you don't you will be greated with "how did you not see the 'Don't buy this' On the early access page'.
Again Don't buy if you are not sure.
Edit: for all the fools who spam steam with "broken game". . . I loathe you all. . .I'm tired of dealing with yer shit. . . If you bought the game your own fault. It says every dammed time you load up the game it's in alpha. . .Quit asking for refunds.
For OP: State of decay for now. . is my recommendation or Prison Architect

I can only imagine the amount of ignorant stuff you guys have to put up with. Though I suppose on the flip-side, steam could use some kind of big icon to denote when a game is in alpha state vs when it is in beta state. Some people are so used to 'early access' games being late beta, due to pre-orders allowing them to hop in a few months prior to the full release. When really, purchasing at this stage is a lot like buying a kick-starter game with a playable prototype.
Try not to take them all too personally, and put it down to sturgeon's law. The otherwise attentive gamers are appreciative of the efforts of you guys. After all, this will end up removing the need for Arma and it's expansion packs to play DayZ, which is a great thing when Arma is a bit of a marmite game. It'll all pay off in the end~

Absolutely not. They took advantage of the hype it got and overpriced it. I didn't buy it, but my friend got it for me. T_T Zombies go through walls, floors, etc. resources to collect is non existent it seems, like some areas have no respawns or spawns at all. All people do in the game is kill players, but I guess that is a good thing since there is hardly any zombies. A fucking zombie game and there is barely any zombies.... brilliant!

I would say it might be worth the price but you need to have a great computer to run it properly and really have fun with it. Also remember, that the game is better when you play it with someone else, I wouldnt buy it if I had to play alone.
