as Vernon Reid said "We project all type of sentimentalities on to them beacuse we love what they do as artists and musicians but that isn't prerequisite to make a beautiful sound"

I listen to everything from far rightwin music to communist music. If i like the sound i will listen to it no matter what the creator wants/thinks. I might not support them by buying their stuff but as long as i enjoy it i don't care about who makes it.

Yes. Unless they bring that behavior into their art - which is very unlikely, I couldn't care less about it. Artist and person are two different things and people should learn how to separate them.

It really depends on the situation. The Phil Fish situation wasn't so bad for me. I could see where he came from on some things. I don't think I know the full story though.
Buy someone like Keemstar from Drama Alert is not someone I will ever support after what he has done. He is extremely racist, he abused his wife, he tells people to kill themselves on a daily basis and more. I really enjoyed watching Drama Alert but after I learned about the horrible things he's done I can't support him anymore.

i never cared about who made this song or film or game.. the only time i do, is when i want to look for similar material, these guys do their job as i do mine, and their personality or action, wont change that id liked their music games or whatever. It is not like i "support" them, or blame them. Actually i never understood fan, groopies, all that Story about the Secret Star System.

There's a difference between an artist holding certain beliefs and portraying those beliefs in their work. Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan, as just a couple of examples have made/been accused of making racist comments with this having no bearing on their musical output. On the other hand a large number of Dancehall artists use homophobic lyrics.
The former type doesn't really bother me at all, the latter may dependent on the specifics.

Don't pirate it. It's illegal and wrong.
But boycott to your heart's content if it's what feels right.
But if it feels bad, then keep listening...it doesn't mean that you're a bad person, too.
PS: Nice to see you on the forums. Keep an eye out for one of my whitelist GAs. You may or may not be interested, but you're always welcome.

I'm always separating the art from the artist. I can like art even if I know artist was a really bad person. But when I like art and find out that artist is a nice guy too - I'm glad.

I do, in fact, still support creators who screw up or who hold opinions that I disagree with. So long as their work is enjoyable, they can be as crazy as they like. Orson Scott Card has come up a few times here, and he's one of my favorite examples. I think his opinions are so shocking and controversial precisely because his strong conservative views don't come across in his writing. I've read nearly everything he's ever written, and maybe one in ten comes across as him pushing some kind of Mormon agenda. The other nine are just good stories, or sometimes mediocre stories. I'll happily pay for his stuff, because it encourages him to write more good books.
Or to take a more recent example, I will still gladly grab and play anything Digital Homicide manages to get through Greenlight and sells for a buck. I enjoy the occasional terrible game, and their stuff is the cream of the crap. Do I think they're good people? Fuck no. Do I still want to play their games? Absolutely. Am I willing to give them a couple pennies to get their latest offering and encourage them to make more games? Sure. It's not like I'm sending the money directly to their "help us pay a lawyer" campaign.
Yes, there's always a chance that my money gets used for a cause I don't believe in. But if I spend money and get my money's worth of enjoyment out of it, I don't worry about what terrible person might be on the other end of the transaction. Especially because there are dozens or hundreds of other people involved in the process as well who all get a cut. Do the publishers, editors, printers, distributors, and bookstores all deserve to lose money too because of the writer's mistake? You might argue yes by association, but that's a much muddier issue than the clear-cut "I hate this person, I won't buy their stuff"

personaly i don't give a shit about what they're doing. i don't give a shit if they fucked a lama or humster. they have police in their countries. i even don't interested in social life of people who created stuff i liked. it's not my damn buisness. so chill and enjoy their work not their deeds.

That highly depends, but theoretically if I found something really obnoxious that would make me not want to support the person I'd go for option (2.5): don't give them more money but continue to enjoy what I have or legally get new stuff that doesn't give them money (for example via humble). Strange that this option wasn't included, I think it's the most reasonable one.

Regardless of games, you can still enjoy what you own and not support the person again. That's the option that I felt was missing.
And yes, I meant that with HB I can make the money go where I want it. I could even (in most cases) choose to give all the money to a charity that's directly opposed to what that person has done.
And HB also sells books/comics/audiobooks, so it's not just about games.
Also, there are other ways to experience an artist's work legally without paying him, for example listening to a song on the radio or watching a movie on TV.

I never played FEZ because Mr Fish is an asshole. I got it on some bundle and it's been rotting on my library since.

Good thing I saw everything just before they deleted it. They even went to great lengths elaborating on why are you a stalkerish type and reading through it made me learn a lot about you, myself and world in general. Also probably the longest and most elaborate post I ever read on SG. Too bad you will never know, though.
