Will you buy it?

Here, have my vice dollar - Tier 1!
IGN is bullying me into buying Tier 2...
What a great bundle! Tier 3 insta-theft!
Come on IGN, I already have these...
I'd rather spend my money on energy drinks.

Would grab Tier 2 but I already own LA Noire Complete, so I think just Tier 1 for me this time.

To everyone asking - GTA V was never going to be in this bundle for a number of reasons, lack of Steam keys and massive sales being the top two IMO.

shit, forgot about bundle yesterday. Would've bought T2 for Max Payne and Bully. that's what happens, when they screw up the schedule.

Already have GTA IV + dlcs on my Xbox 360(troublesome free installation and no need for 3 or 4 drms just to play the game) and LA Noire + dlc on PC so just the BTA for me this time. I just wished I got it at closer to $6 than to $8 though.

I was able to get Max Payne 3 + Rockstar pass separately from someone who already had it, so I have all the games in the bundle now even though I only got the BTA tier. I will try to trade my extra LA Noire code on steamtrades.

The thing that has kept me away from GTA games is fear from all the reviews that talk about problems with the drm.

Just how bad is drm on GTA games?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas, are allegedly DRM-free right out of the box.
GTA IV and Episodes from Liberty City, on the other hand, are DRM hell, with a grand total of 3 DRM layers on top of Steam:
Games for Windows - LIVE (can be disabled with the XLiveLess mod, which also disables multiplayer), Rockstar Games Social Club (launcher is mandatory, account is required only for online features), Securom (unspecified amount of activations).

Anyway, all of them have a plethora of issues, mostly related to porting, ranging from framerate locks, to serious bugs/crashes, to limited compatibility with modern OSes and hardware, requiring a bit of tweaking to work properly on modern systems.
PC Gaming Wiki pages for reference and fixes: III, VC, SA, IV, EfLC.

As MikuIT said - only ones to really worry about are IV and EFLC.
In discussions there are tutorials on how to make it run decently.

Altough I downloaded it again, after playing it quit a time ago. And it ran on first go. Didnt have to do anything. But maybe it was still fixed since last time played.

Anyhow - There is a big chance the game wont start at all at the beginning.. Its fixable, tough.. With a bit of headache.. but still

Edit : I did installed and tried Vice city and GTA3 now. Win10 and 64bit system. Works fine, wide screen option. San Andreas is downloading, but Ive played it, too.

Does anyone knows if buying this bundle grants you 10% off for first time subscribers for HB monthly? or they stopped doing that altogether?

Bought from Germany ?

German customers will receive the low-violence version of Max Payne 3. Also note that these keys are not available yet on your keys page (they are delayed).

yup I just got the same answer from the support there - just need to wait ^^ :D

Probably a matter of days, or if you are unlucky, after the end of the bundle. Maybe they want to know how many "special" keys they will have to generate (German keys for low-violence Max Payne 3; FR/IT/RU keys for Max Payne 1, maybe region-locked keys for Manhunt).

I got this one from 1$ tier: 12089, Max Payne ITFR Comp.
Did you buy BTA tier? If so, what was version of Max Payne 2: ROW or local?

That's ROW app id.
If you activated key to your account, then local app would be listed with tag in your library (for example "Max Payne 2 FR"), just like the first game. ROW version doesn't have any tag: "Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne" - like in your library.

Eventually decided on tier two. Should've gotten it when it was <$8, but oh well, you live and you learn plus it's for a good charity, so...

I wish I got the BTA when it was closer to $6 than $8. Only thing missing I had in tier 3 was Max Payne 3 + Rockstar Pass and I was able to buy that separately from someone who already had it so I now have all the games included in this bundle.

I only need Bully at tier 2 - not sure worth $10 USD though for it

And it's 2-2.5€ on grey market, the same price than when it's on sale on Steam. I think I'll wait for the next sale to finally buy it.

It is a good game(better than GTA V in my opinion) if you can make it work on PC. If you wanted to avoid the hassle and you have a console, get it there like I did on the Xbox 360. No need to sign up anywhere else or find fixes to make the game playable.etc which you would have to do on PC. Just insert the disc and play.

I wish they included Midnight club in this bundle. I bought the BTA tier and have GTA IV(including expansions) and Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox 360 as well as LA Noire Complete and Max Payne 3 Complete on PC already. I now have most of the Rockstar games I wanted except for Midnight Club. Only new game I would be willing to get in the future is RDR 2.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Did you mean Midnight Club 2 ?
They might as well have added that to T1 considering it has been given for free to all members of the Rockstar group on Steam a couple of years ago.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Right. I t would have been a good addition to the T1 tier. That is the version available on steam.

I guess I can always get Midnight Club Los Angeles on the Xbox 360 though which is the newer, bigger, better version.

Not to mention Midnight Club 2 on PC (at least the steam version) is, welll...not quite the best version, dare I say

Midnight Club 3 was amazing however

Hi can someone who activated All 5 gta's games from This bundle tell me as a what version they registered at the account??
(Copy full name from your license page)
I'm asking because there is a few radio version for each game & I'm wondering which version exactly have hb..

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

are there regional differences for the radios? the only changes I faintly remember was the 3.0 update for gta san andreas with which among other things, they removed songs due to copyright expiration and the vice city update which removed few songs, for instance the Billy Jean song from Michael Jackson (people who owned the game before the update didnt got their music updated apparently)

That being said I could be perfectly wrong about it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's always the newest, Steam has one version, HB only gives keys for the Steam version. You can try to check the rightclick-option for version of the games and possible beta / previous versions, but based on what I've seen so far you have to use third-party programs to roll-back versions and get the songs from a similar source.

I'd like to make giveaways for Manhunt and Max Payne 1, but I'm not sure what to do about the region locks.
I'm in the UK and have a couple of questions for anyone more knowledgeable than me.

  1. If I've read the OP correctly my Manhunt key should activate everywhere so I don't have to restrict the giveaway to exclude the countries in the HB warning, is that right?
  2. I see that my key for Max Payne 1 is "Rest of World", but can that RoW key be activated in France, Italy and Russia or do I have to exclude those three countries from the giveaway?
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

  1. Correct.
  2. It can be activated in FR / IT / RU; you don't need to exclude these countries.

I would not mind Max Payne 1+2 but the stupid tier pricing and only being on steam in package version. That would mean I would have to buy the other game on sale but knowing R* it will most likely be way cheaper to buy the package then each game on sale.

I have to LOL at those who thought GTA V would be in this deal, no way it's still selling just fine and making them plenty of money no need to de-value a game that is still selling well enough.Though even if they did it would surely not be for 20 or less and people would cry about the price anyhow so, either way, I guess people will complain.

Still, over all thanks to Nuuvem and trading, I got all these games cheaper than the whole bundle price here so eh who's laughing now.A great price if you missing most or all of them.

I am thinking of buying this bundle, but noticed that the episodes of liberty city doesn't have a steam icon on it, so is that not a steam key that is given, or is there still a steam key that is given it just doesn't display it on the site?
