I've learned not to rely on IMDb ratings too much. I'd consider allowing films rated over 6.5 - but reading a review or watching the trailer to decide if it's your kind of movie. Look at Jurassic World, which I really enjoyed, only gets 7.2 on IMDb. Team America also gets 7.2, and Funny Games only 6.5 - admittedly they're both films that won't appeal to everyone, but a quick check of the trailer will probably tell you if it's something you'll enjoy :-)
