Hello there,
it was my birthday yesterday but I forgot to make a celebration train here because I didn't celebrate it in real life. I played the second run of Divinity: Original Sin 2 instead. The first run took me more than 100 hours so that's why I am still writing here that I am playing that. :)

Enjoy the weekend, here is the train.

I can't wait to play D:OS 2. I backed in on Kickstarter despite not ever finishing the first one (which I also backed). I played about 30 hours of the first one coop with a friend and then we couldn't get our schedules to line up to keep playing. I gave my niece an extra copy of it after I showed it to her and she seemed to like it, and we played it for a short while. She wanted to do all of the talking, but then she got tired of all the reading (she was 10 at the time I think). She started goofing off, wanting to break into every locked house and ended up getting us a low reputation in the town, then she didn't want to play anymore. I started a solo game, but I didn't feel like going through all of the early part again, so I quit and never got around to coming back.

It sat in my backlog until a few weeks ago a friend wanted to do some coop. We playing coop with some other friends (usually Arma3), but we can only seem to do get a day once a month where we can all plan to play together. This is the same friend I started a game with way back, so I suggested we play it again and we've been playing it since. He's more into the combat than the RPG dialog stuff, which I like both aspects. He tends to get bored when we're in town or talking and wants to go get into some action, but we have to do that to get quests. I usually don't play charismatic type characters, but I'm having to play that role now. I boosted my charisma do most of the talking and he can goes off crafting or whatever when he gets tired of it. I'm sure this has caused us a few missed coop dialogs though.

I told him about D:OS 2 having 4-player coop and he's wanting to play it with four people when we finish, but we'll need to find two reliable coop partners.

Maybe you could look for people for coop here in the category Let's play together. Post a new thread and write there what exactly do you expect from the player and maybe you will find a good colleague for playing. :)

Do you know that only one player can beat the game in coop? I read an interesting trick how to achieve it. If you mix a poison potion with red dye, the poison looks like a healing potion. When you can offer it to your friend rival before the grand finale. :D

I'd rather play with people I know if I can. All of my good friends I met through gaming, but over the years we've moved apart, have different schedules and lives and only a few of them still game. I started gaming with people I met through another gaming site once. It started out OK, we played some CIV V, Payday 2 and other stuff like that, but then that fell apart too after a while..

Is that D:OS or D:OS2? Either way, you could also save before the finale and give the save file to the other player(s) and let them beat it.

The trick with the poison is for DoS2 but it is possible it can be done even in the first episode.
