guys, if you buy a probably stolen bundle that gets removed, then please -rep the guy who sold it to you!
complaining in this thread won't help anyone. but if these guys suddenly have 10 negative rep, they maybe think about it and stop.

did you research on this topic? i doubt it. i tried to google what is happening some weeks ago. i couldn't find a single word about any hib-related fraud...
these guys just tell you a story, and maybe it sounds reasonable. and besides, some bundles can legally be sold under price (e.g. indiegala, bought during happy hour). so it might be really hard for some traders to identify every fishy trade offer.

That's what happens when there's no convenient outlet to talk about it. Steamrep? Thread rejected immediately. Steamtrades? Scammer gets all his friends to bomb you with negative rep.
Comment has been collapsed.
You forgot Steam support: "we don't care about trades outside the trading window"

neg rep is not a permanent thread. you can always contact support and get it removed. i have a feeling many here are afraid to neg rep even scammers, just because they don't want to get neg rep themselves. it's a shame... :(
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, it's not permanent, but it can take weeks to get the mark off your record. I know one guy that posted in cg's thread has 8 negative rep for the past week or two from a scammer and all his alts. While the rep is fake, it really does deter people from trading with him.

i would happily take 100 -rep for a week, if i could stop the selling of stolen bundles...

wtf are you talking about? this is a serious topic and you obviously are not smart enough to understand why this has to stop and why it's good that the sg community gets more and more aware of it. you add nothing of value to this discussion, and i bet this is not the first time you heard that. in fact, you are the only one crying here. everyone else is discussing.
Comment has been collapsed.
The first post ever in this topic is crying. There's a risk involved when trading outside Steam's Trading Window. Everyone knows it, yet still decide to do it the hard way. When you know the risk, you know the consequences, this thread shows the result. Is there anything else to discuss? I see people whining in this thread only - for missing their 'bundles'.
Comment has been collapsed.
is there anything to discuss?! sure there is. we have to discuss how to prevent this. you are basically saying, that it's not ok to talk about a probable credit card fraud, because the buyers should have known the risk? are you out of your mind? if there is a serial killer in town who kills young girls at night, should the police and the parents not talk about it then, because the girls should have known, that there is a risk walking outside that late? no, that's just stupid. of course we have to talk about what to do here. and as i said, everybody is doing that - except you. you are just - well, what exactly are you doing here? i really don't know.

the price of the bta bundle depends on the average purchases. if it's 5.5$ now, and somebody tells you he bought during the first hour when it was 3.3$, so he can sell for 2 keys, how exactly can you prove him wrong? you just can't. there is no price history or something on hib site.
Comment has been collapsed.
No price history, indeed, true that. Then again, common sense. Why would you want to save one or two dollars and associate with the risk? Some people just don't make sense, don't you think?
I for one, always buy TF2/Dota2 keys from Steam Market. It's definitely, 100% safer, than buying from TF2/Dota 2 keys from TF2 outpost, for example. Do you think it's worth risking my account for a possible trade ban for money laundering?
From that point of view alone, it's NEVER worth it trading for Humble Bundle Gift links.
Comment has been collapsed.
common sense? if someone sells a bta for 10 cards, then yes. if someone tells you that he bought it for like 3.3$ in the first few hours (which absolutely can be) and wants to sell it for 2 keys, then i can understand why some people fall for it.
and you ignore yet another fact. impressive! of course the whole bundle selling market exists mainly, because some people are not able to buy them themselves. second reason is, that you can buy old bundles here, which are not available anymore. buying/selling bundle gift urls here on ST is a total reasonable thing. and if some idiots compromise this business by selling stolen bundles, we have to do something against the sellers, and not blame the buyers, like you try to do the whole time.

he told me he has a bunch of bundles from the early stage and he's ok with me giving him cards worth of 3,3$ for it, what's shady about that? maybe actually read the thread and think a little before crying over nothing and speaking nonsense, stop being so damn productive (sarcasm)

Not quite true. I managed to get a BTA for one of the older HiB for 1 TF2 key. The bundle is still in my library etc.
Comment has been collapsed.
if your bundle is not valid anymore because the payment got revoked/canceled/whatever, then you won't get any added games, of course... :(
Comment has been collapsed.
When something is too good to be true it usually is.
I saw people trading the BTA for 2 keys. It's ridiculous. It makes no sense at all.

On a side note, the page for the one I bought simply refuses to load.

The same thing happened to me after I traded with a guy on ST.He had 30+ rep so I tough it would be ok and he really seems like a good guy.I talked to him and he says he got the bundle from another trader and he is currently trying to get to him, but with no luck.
Strangely enough I couldn't pay him before the bundle dissapered as his TF2 bag was full....

you guys see whats happening here? some of these guys even didnt "buy" the bundles themselves! some guys steal money, buy bundles for it and even let other poor idiots sell them. typical money laundery...
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah...that's what happened.I just can help but feel bad for the poor guy :(
Comment has been collapsed.
Not yet.He actually seems like a victim, so I'm not sure what to do.Also, I am still talking with him, so after we sort thing up I'll see what I'll do.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah, sure. i spoke with several guys now, who bought stolen bundles. and no one wants to -rep the sellers. this way the fraud can continue...
btw, if i was one of these guys, i would also tell you that i am the victim here. i would most certainly not tell you that i stole money and wanted to launder it by selling you stuff. ^^

I'll just wait a bit more and I'll do what I should do.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nothing much you can do except mark him as a scammer on Steamrep, report to Steamgifts support and report his profile to Steam.
It's like every other CD key scam.

It is statistically impossible to have more than 10 friends after the amount they being associates
Coworkers are not friends, classmates may be, neighbors probably not though next door ones could count.
Friends of friends are not friends they are friends of friends.
There should be some degree of trust between the two parties and trading partners are friends.

yesterday i went to the gas station. i asked the guy to give me cigarettes. when he turned around, i stabbed him in the back, took his key to the cash register, opened it and took all the money. i took some cigarettes, some booze and a magazine. then i blew the whole place up before i left - it was the one time i had no money! ;)

I bought HiB from this guy http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198061096743 HIB BTA for 10 cards. Well good offer. I activate all games before my gift link gone. The games are still on my account but i dont have them on my HiB account. Will I loose them from steam too ?
Comment has been collapsed.
Either he's been trading gift links and then getting them refunded, or he's using a stolen credit card and it's purchases are getting cancelled. Either way, I wouldn't trade with that person again.

I received a gift link for HB WB from a friend 2 days ago, reclaimed it to my HB account, showed under my other purchases. Today I open my HB account wanting to redeem the games, bundle is not there anymore. Tried the gift link, says bad key, used the Resend button, sends me an e-mail with all my older purchases, this one not included (probably cause it was gifted ofc).. Sent an e-mail to HB support they said it could take 1 week to respond. Anyone had this happened to them before? A bundle to disappear from their account, could be a bug for just a period of time or something? The guy doesn't have it in his library..
EDIT: For the initial exchange I gave the guy 3,3$ worth of cards, he was fine with it because he said he bought it early when it was under 4$. Anyway, I talked it out with him, he bought me a new one and I redeemed the keys immediately which seem to still be in my Steam account, but the bundle is gone again from my HB account lel. I sent the Fear 2 key and LORT which I had already to another e-mail address of mine, hope they're safe there. http://i42.tinypic.com/16lbwo8.jpg
