The points you get would still be calculated as they are now, but you could collect more and also create giveaways which need more points.

So, for example, I make a Skyrim raffle for 500P.
Only people who really want it would collect and enter, while it creates greater chances for people to win 5 dollar games (which get up to 2000 entries now)

Thoughts?

Well, for one, I believe your points max out at 200.

But I would love this.

there could be a collection thing if that were implemented... so u would need to submit say all your 300 points and wait for another 200 before entering (obviously the time for the giveaway needs to be appropriately made/placed)... if the giveaway ends before u can submit the rest of the points u get those points refunded automatically... of course this would mean that u might potentially have more than 300 points when this happens but this would mean it would take less time for you to collect points for another such giveaway for 500 pts ^^

most giveaways would be 1p and then everyone has enough points for your skyrim giveaway

But the number of generated points will drop too, since it's always 5%. Though i guess it makes sense to limit the entry fee by the game's price, so people don't boost generated points.

max points is 300

If you set it to 301, no one can enter

And everybody gets free points

The giveaways can generate the same amount of points they do now, but the entry fee will be selected by the creator of the giveaway and it can be anywhere from the normal price it has now up to 300.
So, for example a 10 dollar game would generate 0.25/0.5 points (whatever it generates now) but it could cost 300 points to enter.

Implement a minimum and maximum entry cost of 1 and 300. SO HARD.

the minimum would have to be set at price of game, and the points generated would have to also be set at the price of the game. If this is to work at all.

Why? I don't see the problem with creating giveaways with lower point cost entries than what they normally would be, provided that the 5% of points earnt scales down with that.

Just the thought of giving away skyrim for 1 point.

So in other words, there's no reason other than crying about people getting games with their virtual credits cheaper than they normally would. Nice to know.

there are currently 37,600 members atm. It doesn't matter what you do you will not increase your odds of winning games (maybe increase odds of winning a particular raffle but you enter for that game less often so its still the same odds). I think with this idea you will simply find that 5% points is not enough as you will only be able to enter 1 game a day if that. It will cause the site to be less active because no one has enough points to find a reason to log on and browse games. I know i wouldn't get on more than once a week.

That being said, this is the best idea i have read about making an adjustment on the points system. it adds a lil more fun to picking which game you enter because you can play the odds a little. Might work if the max was set at double the price. of the game. (300points for a $1 game is over the top). I still don't think I approve though.
