Planescape is more like an interactive book thank a game with gameplay...
Think about a immortal man that can't save his memories and in every life he acts like a new person. Think about him awaking in another existential plane where lost souls go. Think about this man trying to discover what happened to him while a war between demons and devils detroys the worlds one after another, and think about him travelling trough worlds, facing gods and eternal beings to reveal his curse.
This game has by far the best story in videogame world. You must know a lot of lore about D&D world to truly enjoy this game, it's not for everyone. Don't be surprised, in my country Planescape Torment didn't sell even 4000 copies, so sad if you think about the pasion that devs put into it.

It's not boring, but it will require reading a lot. Getting into the philosophical nature of the game to fully appreciate it.
It won't offer a quick fix with fun, but it's more in for the long haul.
That being said. I'm still waiting for a company to finally realize a reboot with improved graphics and engine would be quite a decent seller.

The story is deep, the characters are interesting. Admittedly I went into it thinking it was more of a standard Infinity engine game and | was initially put off by the lack of equipment (I couldn't get Plate Mail +5 in the game and a Holy Avenger! etc.) But when I got past that, I found one of the deepest and best rpgs I've ever played and I've gone back and played through it several times over the years. I am also an avid reader both of classics, as well as lighter fantasy and sci-fi and I can say that his game has a very strong narrative. Btw, if anybody is interested in the game enough, there was a novelization that was actually fairly decent, though I think the game itself told the story a little bit better (a treasured part of my book collection nonetheless).

Before throwing boulders at me just listen. Yes i know it has the highest rating, it is the best game in the universe bla bla bla but in a 15 years span i tried that game several times but seems boring from the beginning and i quit everytime. Maybe our blood types don't match I don't know . Bu one thing for sure as a DND and video games enthusiast i want to like it and will buy it again from GOG for sure. I had some spare time so i opened that discussion. Go thunderbirds.
